I know it’s early but I left my husband for a few hours yesterday, two cans of snow spray and asked him to do something nice with it on our front room window.. Came home to this, amazing stuff I think. Should I start pimping him out, would you pay for this, how much? If

Why volunteer? Who says he had the time?
What are you volunteering your time on?

Why so aggressive? Get a grip.

Maybe some people are more honest than you.

What's honest about being a mean twat? You either like it or you don't, if it's not your thing just scroll on by.
Meanwhile the rest of us think it's great especially with the thoughtfulness behind it.
I personally don't think trolls and rats are Christmasy but lots of people do so I don't buy them or comment when others do.

Labelledelune · 23/11/2025 12:20

What is that supposed to mean? Why not just spit it out rather than make an innuendo. A woman puts up a photo of what her talented husband has done , what in gods name can you find to be negative about. And believe me I’m as honest as they come.

It means that if I am asked my opinion, I don't feel the need to couch what I say in your idea of what's polite.

The question asked was whether her husband was talented and would people pay for it.

My honest reaction was that her husband was accomplished but what he produced wasn't what I would want on my windows.

I don't see how that's mean. It's not mean to have different taste. And I don't see what business it is of yours what people write honestly on a public forum.

Well I’m sure we are all pleased to know your honest opinion. We all gave our honest opinions too. And talent is talent.

MasterBeth · 23/11/2025 13:59

Well, you're clearly not all pleased to hear honest opinions. You can't even be honest about that.

I hope you feel proud. The way you’ve taken this thread down.

T1Dmama · 23/11/2025 15:48

Very talented. Something like the snow man and snow dog would be cool!

ElBandito · 23/11/2025 15:50

I think they are great! I'm sure someone as talented as him could probably come up with all sorts of designs that could meet even the most persnickety person's tastes 😃.

Tuesdayschild50 · 23/11/2025 16:12

These are really good 👍

Aggressive 😄, all you could come up with after suggesting how someone spends their own time!

Unforgettablefire · 23/11/2025 16:44

If I had money I’d pay for it. Absolutely beautiful and so well done I love them!

OnToast81 · 22/11/2025 23:45

The Snowman from last Christmas. He also started a Grinch one but wasn’t happy with it and never finished it, I’ll post that too.

I love the snowman. This is too much it’s too lovely 😫

ColdWaterDipper · 23/11/2025 17:09

They are really good! They aren’t my taste, but I bet some people would love them and would pay to have them done (if he didn’t charge too much).

Excuse me, but you questioned me first. You need to take a step back or maybe do some breathing exercises. I don’t even know what you wrote as I’m really not fecking interested.

MasterBeth · 23/11/2025 20:44

I didn't "question" you. I replied to your post. It's a discussion forum.

You're the one getting wound up by someone daring to disagree with you.

ivegotthisyeah · 23/11/2025 22:16

That is amazing!
I fell into a rabbit hole the other day on insta of a bloke who does this for a living! Does all shops and hairdressers etc

BatchCookBabe · 23/11/2025 22:34

Thanks for sharing the TikTok page @OnToast81 Your husband is indeed very talented. The images are fab!

Only concern (as some posters have said) is that if he keeps publicising himself and the images, or tries to take money for them. he could be in trouble from the original creators of the characters of the images. As someone said it's to do with the 'copywright.'

The work is great though. He has a gift! Could he work on creating his own characters? Smile

I know who Rupert Bear is. He was in the Daily Express all through the year for decades and has had various TV shows broadcast through the year over those decades. His adventures take place all through the year.

The Beano Book dates back to the 1940s but no-one's spraying Minnie the Minx across their windows because it's Christmassy.

Again - Rupert the Bear has a longstanding cultural connection with Christmas. Minnie the Minx does not.

The second ever Rupert story (published in 1920) was Christmas-themed, and Christmas-based stories have been a recurring feature of his stories, since.

Illustrations from his Christmas stories (like the ones OP's DH is recreating) have appeared on Christmas cards for decades.

I was never a fan of the Rupert stories, so it's not a connection that means anything to me, personally, but its a "thing". I received Rupert-themed Christmas cards as a child, and my grandparents had an old, Rupert tree ornament.

NaiceEagle · 24/11/2025 00:37

He IS extremely talented.
As someone said, spray snow is not the easiest art media to use .
I don't like the word 'pimp' but if he wanted to he is gifted enough to use his art skills for money or free for charities.

FairWarning · 24/11/2025 02:51

Yes, get him advertised, you could earn some extra monies.

He has talent and skill.

StarCourt · 24/11/2025 03:12

I imagine its technically illegal but its civil (not criminal) and the rights-holder is very unlikely to sue. Most cake decorators likely don't hold license agreements with various major publishers, but will decorate to order.

OnToast81 · 24/11/2025 09:13

Here we go, Rupert the Bear was keeping George Micheal and Live Aid company in the 80s, you can’t get more Christmassy than that!

So he's suddenly discovered this talent?
I know I'm going to sound horrid because my DH can't create beautiful pictures on windows (fear not - I love him despite that and he's very rich anyway ) but it's crossing my mind that this may be the beginning of an advert.
Sorry, @OnToast81 , if it's not and you just wanted to share his brilliance for free.
In which case, thank you 😊
