My 18 month old just licked one of his big sisters Crayola silly scents felt tip in blue.. now his tounge is blue.

we’ve scrubbed his tounge with his tooth brush and he’s drunk a big bottle of milk..

i want to call toxicity help like but my husband says I’m being unreasonable because ChatGPT and the Crayola website say they’re non-toxic and I’m wasting peoples time when the information is online.

am I being over dramatic haha

Yes you are.

Mumblechum0 · 19/11/2025 18:53

Nothing to worry about. They’re practically designed for kids to ingest 🤣

Flibbertyfloo · 19/11/2025 18:53

Chill. Your child will be one of many who have done this. They are pens for kids. Kids do silly things. That's why they make them non-toxic.

TheSwarm · 19/11/2025 18:53

You know what non-toxic means, yes?

NerrSnerr · 19/11/2025 18:53

He’ll be fine. They’re non toxic and kids will be licking them all the time.

millymollymoomoo · 19/11/2025 18:53

Mine used to eat them ! Blue poo for days

Dartmoorcheffy · 19/11/2025 18:55

Do you seriously think they would make toxic children's crayons?????

Notmeagain24 · 19/11/2025 18:56

My little one once sucked the scented crayola pen dry! This was about 5 years ago and she's fine. I did stress out though! Xxx

sanityisamyth · 19/11/2025 18:57

The one’s clearly marked “non-toxic” on the packaging??

sanityisamyth · 19/11/2025 18:57

*tongue haha

They are non-toxic, I wouldn’t be worried

TeaAndTattoos · 19/11/2025 18:59

Non-toxic means just that.

NuffSaidSam · 19/11/2025 19:01

It's absolutely fine.

But you know what, if it will put your mind at rest give the helpline a call. I bet at least 50% of their calls are anxious parents worrying over nothing. They can put your mind to rest in a sixty second call.

HewasH2O · 19/11/2025 19:02

The ones designed for small people to stick up their nose, lick and chew? Yes, you are 100% over-reacting.

chickenfucker · 19/11/2025 19:09

They are designed for children, so they won't be poisonous OP

ChillBarrog · 19/11/2025 19:24

You can Google the product though, right?

Dunno, maybe Google it?

mazedasamarchhare · 19/11/2025 19:29

I’m old so when I was at school it was cartridge/ fountain pens all the way….the amount of times we’d chew the cartridges and end up with blue/ black mouths…I mean it tasted disgusting, but was quite a regular occurrence, we’re all still bimberling along in our 50s.
Your little one will be fine, honestly OP, try not to worry.

Kpo58 · 19/11/2025 19:31

I'm guessing that this is your first child. Kids will eat far worse and be fine than trying to eat a Crayola felt tip.

fost · 19/11/2025 19:33

given the OP says it's his big sister's pen he licked, you'd be wrong with that guess

pointythings · 19/11/2025 19:33

Your child will be fine. You may have some interesting nappies. My DD1 once ate a large handful of glitter glue. Fabulous poos for days. She's 24 now and none the worse.

Deep breath, cuppa, relax. Being a first time parent is hard.

bridgetreilly · 19/11/2025 19:34

Get over it.
