“Shut up, piggy”.

Trump told a female reporter this. How come this behaviour is accepted but if it was former president Obama, people would have lost their mind. Obama had to practically be ‘perfect’. When Obama wore a tan suit, it was such a huge deal.

Racism is a sick illness.

Thinking rationally here; he said "Quiet, piggy!". Not the same as saying "Shut up!". He's not a fan of Bloomberg which she is a reporter for. The outlet is probably a heavily-biased news outlet favoured by Democrats. He was probably thinking a lot worse but was tame in his words given he was on camera. 'Piggy' is hardly insulting and if you find that it is, then, well, no advice for you from me. It's all tabloid fodder designed to rile people up, and it's worked.

'Thinking rationally' 🤣🤣🤣

'Piggy is hardly insulting' 😂😂😂

Do tell us when your stand up act is touring

PandoraSocks · 18/11/2025 21:12

@YorkshireGoldDrinker If you said "quiet piggy" to someone in your workplace, what would happen?

SilenceInside · 18/11/2025 21:12

PInkyStarfish · 18/11/2025 21:10

If you watch the whole thing she was going on and on and on and talking over him.

Oh right, well that totally explains and justifies what he said......

Happyjoe · 18/11/2025 21:14

To be honest, it's quite mild compared to other things he is doing, Epstein, corruption, taking away aid, ICE, bombing boats and killing without due process, the list goes on...
Teflon, don't know why, but he seems to be made of Teflon. I long for the days (inc in the UK) where politicians had to have high standards and quit at first whiff of a scandal.

And yet if someone said ‘Quiet Piggy’ to Melania…

I would love for someone now to say that publicly to Melania. Just to see his reaction. Depressingly though, I think i can imagine.

@YorkshireGoldDrinker Of course it’s insulting! But the fact it’s insulting almost takes a back seat to how utterly fucking weird it is. It’s the sort of thing a small child might say to another small child.

But this is an old man saying it. An old man who happens to be POTUS. I think this would have been unimaginable just a decade ago.

A decade ago Trump was on the campaign trail for the first time and during that campaign he mocked a reporter's disability.
He's always been disgusting, and he always will be.

Like many Trump defenders, I think you might be confusing 'thinking rationally' with rationalisation. It dripped out of his little anus-mouth, so it must be ok. Somehow.

To the pps who mentioned Jamal Khashoggi. Yes, that was a disgusting display, seeming to imply Khashoggi might have deserved his fate?

OtherS · 18/11/2025 21:17

Well, you're right in saying everyone would have lost their minds if Obama had done it, but I really don't think that has anything to do with racism! Even people who dislike him acknowledge him as intelligent, dignified, well-mannered and very definitely presidential, and so would obviously be absolutely horrified if they saw him behave anything like this. Same goes for any other politician, including sex pest Clinton and barely conscious Biden. The fact that is isn't breaking headline news across the globe is precisely because we all know how revolting, dim-witted and ill-bred this repugnant little man is so we aren't even surprised anymore. Comparing him to Obama is downright offensive.

What did Obama do,? I have a list of bad policies, but did he stoop as low as Trump?

Trump is literally getting billions from a corrupt Saudi prince. Did he call someone piggy in order to take attention from that? Why is no one talking about the Saudi trump tower?? Trump is quite obviously just wanting to make billions from any corrupt shit he can find and he is doing it in plain sight. Maybe just me thinking that then?

And they are all just laughing at the rest of us. That bloody ‘prince’ or whatever he is just sitting there with a bloody smirk on his face in the White House while trump validates him. I don’t validate him or trump. The people who do should be very ashamed of themselves.

It’s probably tactical. Say something shocking for headlines to distract from the really harmful stuff.

XWKD · 18/11/2025 21:21

It has nothing to do with racism. Trump is such a shitbag that nothing he does surprises anyone, especially obnoxious taunts. It's what he does. His supporters, including women, don't care.

SilenceInside · 18/11/2025 21:22

Everyone is still talking about Epstein and the Saudi prince, it's not pushed them out of the headlines at all. It is small fry compared to that, but it's just such a clear example of his total contempt for pretty much anyone who isn't exactly like him. So open, so confident that it doesn't matter. Which it clearly doesn't to him given the position of power he is in.

it was a superb put-down of lying media by Trump - as effortless as batting away a circling mosquito 🦟 👌😮‍💨

It was in response to OP suggesting Obama wouldn't still get support if he'd said it

Susiy · 18/11/2025 21:26

Trump has zero respect for women as we already know but it's sexism not racism.
He looks and acts like a cornered rat - his MAGA fans are rebelling against him and he's rattled.

Well people aren’t powerless, they’re just stupid. People stopped Hillary Clinton getting into power when their prejudices took over. People got Trump into power. They’re not educating themselves. We’re not victims. Just uncoordinated.
