Sick of shit weather

DevilsAdvocate101 · 10/11/2025 22:19

Just that, sick of shitty weather and the forecast of rain whole week. It's so humid outside and inside of the house is very humid despite the heating and window opening Shenanigans.
Have little kids who are stuck at home in this stupid rain and it's too dark for the most part, added to this every day news of stabbing like this recent of Birmingham bull ring where we go very often, so feeling very unsafe with it all.
It's shitty through and through.

I hate (being out in) the rain, but I hate it even more when it's hot outside. So I'll gladly accept the rain right now

Sillysoggyspaniel · 11/11/2025 07:14

Everyone always says oh just put on some waterproofs and go splash in puddles. Presumably rain is a novelty for them as it's not fun when the rain is sideways and relentless, and then for the fourth time in a day you have to hang wet stuff all over the house. Between dog walks, working outside, the school runs and taking the toddler out I'm sick of it. People who say it doesn't matter and to get out regardless don't do it day in day out. Everything is shitter in the rain.

Ah come on op there's no such thing as bad weather just inappropriate clothing! I even got a puddle suit for my dog following this theory but she said fuck this and went fir

Bullshit. We have all the gear in triplicate. We're outside a lot in bad weather. And it's shite. You then have to try and dry all the stuff which you can dry quickly because it damages it.

I am flying to Australia next week and forcast similar but marginally warmer 😭😭So bloody disappointed ☹️

Whereabouts in Oz? I am in WA and its a glorious 32 today.

scalt · 11/11/2025 07:17

It’s all those threads moaning about summer weather. Every time someone moans about the heat, a ray of sunshine dies.

Radiatorvalves · 11/11/2025 07:18

I actually cycled over 60km on Friday (got v wet in one 20 min downpour then dried off), went for a 2 hour walk at a well known garden on Sat and sat outside in the sunshine having coffee. Then had another long walk on Sunday. Not sunny but dry. Sure Monday was wet, but it’s November!

DappledThings · 11/11/2025 07:20

It's been lovely up until yesterday. I was still in a tshirt outside in the sun on Saturday. It's barely been grey.

RampantIvy · 11/11/2025 07:21

Saturday was lovely where I live. I got loads of gardening done.

Atina321 · 11/11/2025 07:23

This is it for the next 4-5 months now, it’s called a UK winter. Unless you have just moved here from
somewhere near the equator I am sure you have experienced winter before? Happens every year.

TattooStan · 11/11/2025 07:24

It's shit. DH works outdoors all day, every day, so we struggle to get his work clothes dry in the evening before his next shift. And his boots never dry out.

dontforgetme · 11/11/2025 07:26

@DevilsAdvocate101op I am from the same area and I’m completely with you. Our house is boiling every morning with 0 heating on through the night. I actually don’t mind the cold weather but when it’s pissing down with rain but you’re sweating in your coat it’s just horrible.

NearlyDec · 11/11/2025 07:27

I hate dull weather. I would rather take sunny but cold over lack of sunshine every day. So far this Autumn the weather has been mild with little rain.

I’m wondering if I should return to the summer duvet

Brummygirl · 11/11/2025 07:31

Where do you live, OP?

Because we've had a bit of rain in Birmingham but an awful lot of blue sky and autumnal sunshine.

It's really mild and so the heating hasn't been needed (and I live in an old, poorly insulated house).

The grey overcast wet weather has barely started. I don't know how you can be sick of it. We went out for a walk in the countryside on Saturday and spent the rest of the day in the garden. It was lovely. All we've done is comment on how nice the weather is currently!

A heatwave, severe snow and absolute downpours I can understand being frustrated by. Weather that actually impacts on people's ability to do life normally for a brief period is a bit irritating. But it's weather. Absolutely no point in getting wound up by it. It happens every year.

Bipitybopitybo · 11/11/2025 07:45

I always think this when Labour want to tax the rich to high heaven. It’s not like the UK has good weather and safety going for it…. If I was super rich I would totally go to somewhere with better weather!!!

Roseshavethorns · 11/11/2025 07:56

I like most weather. Autumn is probably my favourite season.
But the incessant threatening greyness accompanied by very mild temperatures is really getting to me. It isn't "normal" autumn at all.

Laserwho · 11/11/2025 07:57

It's autumn, almost winter. It's mid November. That do you expect?

FoxRedPuppy · 11/11/2025 08:00

I do it every day, several times. Dog walks twice a day and a run 3 times a week. And at the weekends I go for long hikes, regardless of the weather! And usually I am camping!

It’s just rain, you aren’t made of paper.

At the moment it’s quite mild, so I often leave my legs bare- skin dried much quicker than clothes.

in your area! aIts almost like different places in the uk can experience rain and gloom while others it dry!

@DevilsAdvocate101 i agree i hate it. i get SAD this time of year. i go to work it’s dark, come home it’s dark. Work in a&e with minimal daylight.

Then on days off it’s often wet, dark, windy, mushy leaves everywhere. I try and get outside but no one enjoys walking in relentless rain!! Autumn looks beautiful when it’s dry and the colours shine through but it’s minimal days rather than the norm.

RampantIvy · 11/11/2025 08:04

It certainly isn't weather for my wide leg trousers and jeans today.🌧

PrioritisePleasure24 · 11/11/2025 08:06

Thing is people saying oh it’s winter in the uk get used to it blah blah. In summer i read tons of threads looking forward to cosy nights in with ‘hot choc’ and wrapped up autumn walks etc. So it’s no different to those of us who state that we prefer spring/summer and look forward to the lighter days.

Oioiqueen · 11/11/2025 08:07

I am an autumn person but this warm November is throwing me off. I don't mind the rain or the layers but I don't like sweating in a jacket.

I also think global warming is definitely starting to show its face. I seem to do the morning school run 9/10 days with it dry but then 7/10 afternoons seem to be wet. I don't remember as a kid afternoons being more wet than mornings.

Swiftie1878 · 11/11/2025 08:07

Temperatures dropping at the weekend which should sort out the humidity, and snow forecast by next Wednesday! Yay!! 🥳

gingercat02 · 11/11/2025 08:10

It's almost winter, we had a really dry spring and summer. We need a really wet winter.

tigger1001 · 11/11/2025 08:16

its my fault. I washed the car on Saturday, and it's pretty much rained since 😂😂 sorry about that.

it's been mixed where I am. Plenty decent dry sunny weather in October and certainly turned rainy now. It's actually stopped just now. And yesterday there was blue sky for a little while.

for me, it's the fact it's so mild. So having a jacket on because it's raining means I'm far too hot! Window open already at work
