To consider having a boob job?

DBD1975 · 09/11/2025 01:18

I am in my sixties and my boobs are now literally on my waist.

Clothes look dreadful on me as no matter how many different bras I try there just isn't one that can cope with improving my shape/sagging breasts.

It really gets me down as today I was wearing jeans and a smart top and there was no gap between my waist and my boobs.

I am seriously thinking about surgery but I am scared and just wonder if anyone else would consider it.

I would be especially interested to hear from anyone who has had it done, what the results were and if it was worth it.

Please be kind, I have been through breast cancer and I know how fortunate I am

YABU you are in your sixties and being totally unrealistic.
YANBU life is too short to be miserable if you are in a position to do something about it.

Go for it. I not only considered it, I actually did it, along with a tummy tuck and lipid. Best thing I’ve ever done

Ghht · 09/11/2025 01:28

I have a friend who was consumed by the appearance of their nose (looked perfectly fine to me). They got surgery to correct the part they were insecure about. Honestly, the change in said friend was amazing and the confidence radiated from them in many different aspects of their life. I don’t see much difference in the physical appearance of said nose, however there was a drastic improvement in the wellbeing of the individual. If it will make you feel better, then go for it!

ScreamingInfidelities · 09/11/2025 01:32

I had huge, very dense boobs and had them reduced at 40. My only regret is not having it done sooner!

reallywhatsnext · 09/11/2025 07:57

Life is short! Go for it. I had mine done earlier this year and my surgeon said he’s had women in their 70s having boob jobs. Life is too short to feel unhappy if there’s a solution out there.

Pleasegetmeacoffeesotired · 09/11/2025 08:03

Do it! Life is too short. I'm 22 and I'll be having a boob job as soon as I'm done having kids.

GirlInterrupted · 09/11/2025 09:15

Had this conversation yesterday, I'm a double G and 46 it is really starting to sag and bras are a joke. I am really scared of the pain and recovery time. How was that for te posters who've had it done?

Brightbluesomething · 09/11/2025 11:09

My friend did this last year. She’s small framed and they were causing her so much pain as well as the body image issues. She’s absolutely thrilled with them. Go for it.

unsync · 09/11/2025 11:32

I've lost 50 kgs in nearly two years. I'm getting everything overhauled once my weight has been stable for 12 months or so. I have been researching surgeons and think I have found the right one. I'm thinking of going for a consultation soon to ask all the questions.

In your position, I would do the research, find the right surgeon and get on with it. Don't live with unhappiness and regret if you can do something about it.

Terrytheweasel · 09/11/2025 11:36

Mine aren’t very big but I still find them annoyingly saggy after 2 kids and breastfeeding. I’m not sure I would have implants but I would consider having a reduction and lift, so I had nice small perky ones again.

This was like me with my nose. I ignored all the rubbish about "you have to find beauty within" etc - sooooo easy for people to say when they have perfect snub noses and mine had a huge lump on it from being broken as a child. My nose job was the best thing I ever did- it made me feel so much more confident and happy.

Go for it OP!

Agree! Do it OP

Bloody good for you @FlamingoFloss

AlexisP90 · 09/11/2025 11:48

I haven't had surgery myself but totally would if I felt down about a part of my body.

"Beauty is within" is super true BUT you've got to be happy with yourself to FEEL beautiful.

A confident person radiates so much Beauty just from feeling confident. If that means a nip and a tuck here and there go for it.

Life is too short to be unhappy

Milliemoons · 09/11/2025 11:49

I’m going to get one once I’ve finished feeding my second and last baby. I find it so aging that my boobs are so low. Completely changes the look of my outfits.

You are totally reasonable, go for it!

ozarina · 09/11/2025 11:50

what do you mean ? Reduction? Uplift?

Totally agree, I would never have implants x

I think if it's a lift or a reduction then go for it. Implants is another matter, they are much more temporary than most people realise, plus there is a lot of anecdotal evidence about wider health effects as a result of them.

That's great. I say go for it (then come back and tell us all)!

softstone · 09/11/2025 16:58

I had a reduction and uplift in my 50s. It was transformative. As a PP said, my only regret was why I waited so long.

I have extremely saggy bosoms and am a similar age OP.
Corrected with the right bra.
I'm not saying don't have surgery but please explore professional bra fitting services

Your body so if you’ve got the money then go for it! If you’ll feel more confident etc

Floatingdownriver · 09/11/2025 17:38

OP, your title says boob job. That’s not what you’re asking. You’re asking about surgery to help with a real problem. Not give you Barbie boobs. Of course you’re not being unreasonable!
