I don’t actually mind listening to him for the 20 minutes of school run, he’s quite witty and genuinely seems to enjoy the company of guests and colleagues. But I do think he needs lessons on how to be a good interviewer and give the guest space to talk about their own thing.

Also hate the joker sound. Plus it’s 75% too long.

I used to have Radio 2 on most of the day but end up changing around alot now.

I listen to Chris Evans mostly in the am, he is very knowledgeable and does great research for his guests. However he involves his family far too much and that often causes me to switch off.

Vernon is awful. He says 'if I'm honest' all the time, its very annoying. Then him and the traffic lady always find something hilarious and end up silently laughing for ages.

I started going off Sara Cox too...Radio X with Jonny Vaughn is often a good alternative.

Love Trevor, Romesh and Rylan. But Romesh is often replaced with Josh Widdicomb.. cannot stand him.

What Sara Cox is achieving this week for ‘ Children in need ‘ is incredible, but I can’t thinking that they are all trying to outdo each other now! Kinder scout exhausted Vernon Kay a few years ago and Sara has already done a 24 hour danceathon once. Can’t remember last years one, but it’s always guelling.
Whoever is chosen next year must be worried !

Go back to Radio 1, Greg James is great, I find him really easy to listen to

Paddy cycled a long way on a chopper last year iirc. I think scott Mills did 24 hours on a treadmill when hed been at radio 2 about 10 minutes.

@Butthechildrentheylovethebooks I find similar with Vernon, I think he starts out ok in the first hour, and then for some reason he changes and tries to be really funny in the second half, and says "dyou know worr I mean" after just about everything and sounds like a budget version of Peter Kay. And then laughs at his not funny jokes/observations with the traffic lady! And tries to shoe-horn a mention of truckers and being a truckers son at any eventuality.

And i dislike JV as well. They have really random phone ins based on a recent news story. A few years ago an aquarium "exploded" in a hotel in Berlin i think, the phone in was call in if that had happened to you.....cue people phoning in with very tenuous situations that weren't really similar....because that kind of thing doesnt happen all time, so no one can say it happened to them... hence it being news!🙄
And all sorts of stupid pieces usually involving him doing exercise, that really dont work on radio and you just hear him huffing and being out of breath! I prefer Tina Dahely (sp) filling in for him.

I dont mind Scott Mills or Sara Cox. I like Trevor Nelson, but I prefer it when OJ borg does the afternoon slot.

There were reports about 10-15 years ago about him exposing himself everywhere when he used to work on his earlier shows in the 90's. Not much seemed to come of it but it made the papers certainly and a lot of people had complained.

Can't stand Gary Davis, i HATE it when he stands in for Vernon.. i did enjoy Paddy doing it yesterday, rather he was the stand-in for Vern than Gary.

I like Sara, Zoe, Vern & Paddy, i can tolerate Trevor and Romesh occasionally.

I used to listen to Radio 1 a LOT and am only a recent listener to Radio 2, purely because i prefer the music selection lately, so i'm liking the younger DJs, couldn't stand steve wright and co.. far too old and boring.

Oh yes, Paddy on his chopper bike! He mentioned it a fair bit, so im shocked I forgot his challenge.

GHR has some decent DJs but the music is dire - Queen and Tina Turner anyone? Every. Bloody. Day. And the adverts ...
I only listen for Popmaster then turn it off.

At least Trevor plays older hits , a bit more obscure at times too. He likes to mix it up.

The first person I thought of was John Barrowman. I think I read that he was known for doing it on set around his female co stars, but it was ok because he was gay at at the end of the day it's only bantz 🙄.

Peak zaniness being when he married a teenager popstar more than half his age and everyone just went "yep, totally fine". I loved the 90s but by god they were a different time.

I used to bloody love him on Saturday morning telly as a kid but that's a tainted memory now.

I like Scott Mills. Always have and always will. I was very pleased when he came over to Radio 2 and hope he stays on the breakfast show for a long time.

I also like Scott and I feel it’s like so many DJ or presenting jobs that people think ‘ I could do better ‘ but honestly, it’s probably not as easy or straightforwards as it looks. Everyday they have to be bright and breezy, come up with some new things , interview people who may not want to be there , keep it all going and on time for the weather , the news and the ‘ the pips ‘ at 8. As well as using a playlist of songs they may not actually like much. I know they get a good salary , but it’s not an easy job and no, I’m definitely not his mum ! 😂
Then they get asked to do a reality show or run marathons for charity ..

I had to laugh when I saw this on Instagram (I’ve been following Sara Cox’s challenge so of course he popped up…) it’s Scott Mills pushing a trolley with his face on…. His comment is “I promise it was the only trolley left” Of course it was Scott.🙄

That's not true - and way to ruin someone's reputation, I met Scott professionally just as he was moving onto R1 and he had worked with my colleagues for years, from what I witnessed first hand he was the first person to call out inappropriateness in the work place.

Hate the show. Also dislike shouty pious Radio 4. So I switch to R3 and try to think serene thoughts (depending on the music).

I like Trevor Nelson in the arvo and it’s a vast improvement on the terrible SM’s afternoon slot
