I don’t actually mind listening to him for the 20 minutes of school run, he’s quite witty and genuinely seems to enjoy the company of guests and colleagues. But I do think he needs lessons on how to be a good interviewer and give the guest space to talk about their own thing.

I've never liked Scott Mills, I find him so banal. I listen to Nick Grimshaw on Radio 6 instead, he's not perfect but he can at least have an intelligent conversation with his guests and lets them speak, the music is always great too.

I'd completely forgotten he was still around to be honest. I thought he was keeping a low profile after all the reports years ago about inappropriate behaviour. I'm surprised he hasn't been cancelled TBH

I don’t mind him but he is absolutely obsessed with age and getting older. It’s so negative, every five minutes he’ll say something about how ancient he is and how old his peers are now and what it was like back in the day but he can’t do that anymore because he’s old etc etc etc. You’d think he was 104 from the way he goes on.

I’m 39 so perhaps it’s just a sensitive subject right now but I find it so depressing!!

Scott Mills is very dull imo.
And lacks empathy and connection. Vernon is the real me me me horror. Inveterate dropper of names too.

I only listen to the pop quiz ( ten to the top) with Vernon Kay as the rest of the show is a bit dull and when he does that old’ listen to the archives’ bit the music he plays over the top of that puts my teeth on edge. I caught one where they were discussing the clocks going back and it went on and on , had to turn it off! Wherever he finds those old clips should never have been found ! Lol

That might be a little tricky.

He used to make me cringe so hard on CRATW when he would introduce himself to anyone as "hi, Scott Mills" as if people living in a remote part of Peru or somewhere are meant to be impressed. His DH did seem lovely though.

Liza Tarbuck has some annoying vocal mannerisms, but if she's responsible for compiling her own playlists it's clear she has more interesting and broad ranging musical tastes than the rest of the R2 presenters put together.

Maybe a result of marrying someone much younger? 😬

I can’t listen to him for this reason. I say this to my colleague all the time, I also can’t stand Vernon either! But we’re in a black hole for receiving radio stations so we’re stuck!

I spend most of my time listening to 6Music, which means I have the joy of listening to Craig Charles every. fucking. afternoon, and Saturday evenings too 🙄. I think some people- usually men- are so convinced they're outstandingly great that they somehow manage to convince everybody else they're great too.

(The one thing he does manage to do well is conversations about race and racism with his guests)

(But that doesn't cancel out the dodgy allegations from the past. I'm always waiting for a new scandal to break with that one. He comes across as really creepy, on top of the egotism).

She has that rare gift of making you feel that she is talking to you personally. Something that Johnnie Walker had. I miss him.

I really love him in the morning, and think his morning show is better than his afternoon show.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sara cox was offered the breakfast slot, but she’s ideal for the drivetime slot.

Although I love Trevor Nelson, and he’s an excellent dj, I find his afternoon slot doesn’t work for me and I prefer OJ Borg or Spooney on it. Trevor is a music connoisseur so is better in a dedicated ‘music-themed’ slot. The afternoon is more ‘easily listening’, summer fetes, cups of coffee, etc.

When I saw that clip on tv with Mariah Carey and Scott that made me laugh though!

I remember the days when he was a filler for the sick and wounded. He was as dull as ditchwater back then too. I remember his boring saga about him and his mates going to All Bar One and a girl nabbed the sofa first. He was so witty he named her SOFA GIRL.

I cannot believe he has managed to carve a career in light entertainment. I've heard he is fiercely ambitious but he must know someone or know where the bodies are buried.

I love Trevor’s ‘ old school run’ songs. Takes me back.

Trevor Nelson is my favourite but I find Scott ok . I like it when Gary Davies covers and I did like Vernon at first but he seems to talk alot about himself now and I cant stand the silly scoring system on his quiz . I also cannot stand JV and try to avoid midday . It seems such a miseryfest in the middle of the day supposed to be a music channel or at least I thought that was what its supposed to be ?

Need Gary Davies to take over the breakfast show. Scott is so fucking annoying he sends my blood pressure up!

I like Gary too. He seems a bit more chilled.
I don’t mind SM , but they all move on eventually. It’s the early mornings, must be a killer to do. Even the high salary doesn’t keep them !

I did a little jig of delight when Zoe telly box lots of love to you gorgeous girl Ball left. Ugh.

Oh he definitely knows where the bodies are buried. He clung onto his Radio 1 job during a time when almost every other DJ came and went and was almost 50 when he left (not saying 50 year olds can't listen to R1 but it's demographic is a young audience) and then waltzed straight into a plum role at Radio 2.
