To think prawn cocktail are not a core flavour of crisp

What is this madness? Walkers classic multipack have ready salted, cheese and onion, salt and vinegar and prawn cocktail. The meaty multipack have smoky bacon, roast chicken, cheese and onion and prawn cocktail. I question the inclusion of cheese and onion in both a little but at least it is one of the holy trinity of flavours. Prawn cocktail though? AIBU or have Walkers lost the plot?

Before anyone asks yes, I do have more important things to worry about but still!

Oh and plain/ready salted are assuredly the most classic of the classics. Not many people's favourite though, I'd guess?

I'm ashamed to admit some ignorance of crisp history. I always thought the blue salt packet in salt 'n' shake was an '80s gimmick but did it in fact hark back to the origin story of the mighty crisp?

Oh yes, I remember eating them like this when I was a little girl. Which was sometime back in the Pleistocene.

Thank you for educating me. The '80s version is a key part of my childhood snacking memories. Alongside the never to be forgotten Burtons potato puffs. What a loss they are.

Ready salted only exist so that you can make your own salt and vinegar, with real vinegar.

Yes it did. My mum was born in 43 and she remembers them like that

I think Walkers prawn cocktail tastes like a stronger version of the sauce (marie rose.) Not the actual prawns.
Seabrooks are more fishy though.
I prefer Walkers

I object to roast chicken flavored crisps. I don't know anyone who actually likes them and I cannot see why it keeps being included. They should have a beef one instead. At least that's a much better flavour than the bland don't really taste of anything let alone chicken flavored crisps.

Completely agree, and I thought roast chicken crisps had disappeared. I haven’t come across them for years - didn’t they die out in the ‘90s?. I’d put them with cheese and onion in the undesirable stakes, though I recognise that the masses do like the cheese and onion ones. Mass market appeal doesn’t mean good however… Brett’s make the best crisp flavours, though I will allow the Torres fried egg ones an honorary position at the top table of crisps.

YANBU. I know some people like it but if I was going to choose one flavour to add to the holy trinity it would be near the bottom of my list!

They are fucking disgusting. No bugger in our house likes them. Food bank for us. (Though why food bank users have to suffer i don't know)

Oh and my aussie rellies were disgusted by the inclusion of PC crisps.(confused poor dh as their pink packets are not pc)
