I thought reposting the 'Gaza golden statue' video was the worst it would get, but there was more to come..

Defenders always say he's just being down with online youth culture- sure. But is that what the President should be doing? 🙄

At least this kind of bizarre behaviiue will have to end in 2028.

I was actually feeling more positive about Trump given he appears to have brought a ceasefire. It's beyond me why he can act sensibly in thar kind of situation but then continue this toddler behaviour back home...

Meh. They had a "No kings" protest, based on the weird notion that he's their king when in fact he is their elected president.

People made memes, not him, and he found them funny and shared them.

Can't bring myself to give a shit, whether dumped from a plane or not.

It's hardly dignified behaviour, is it?

Presidents like Lyndon B Johnson were famously vulgar, but they didn't act that way in public.

Imo it's a wider sign of context collapse: concepts like appropriateness & audience get watered down when the Internet dominates politics like this.

Same.
I have been watching some of the protests.
No lie they have even been wheeling people out of old age care facilities to attend.

'They'? Do you mean the old people didn't waht to go?

Imo many Boomers are a law unto themselves. 'Gray divorce' is rising in the US. Nursing homes there apparently have rising rates of STDs. The spirit of Woodstock? So maybe that's part of it.

You can see it here too with the ill-advised Palestjne Action protests being dominated by over 60s.

I mean, Bill Cinton shoved a cigar up a young woman's vagina and had sex with her in the Oval Office. Scott Morrison made a disgustingly crude joke about Pamela Anderson and how his friends would love to meet her when he was PM of Aus. I dare say most PMs and Presidents do things that some consider vulgar.

I think snatching 500 pounds a year fuel allowance from freezing pensioners is psychopathic and personally, I'd rather have vulgar. Let's not forget Starmer said specifically that 400,000 extra old people would die if the Tories snatched their fuel allowance, and then he waited till he was in power to do it anyway.

Vulgar is just a question of taste, I'd rather vulgar than psychopathic.

And no its not a tit for tat because we'd be here all day listing things Starmer has done wrong, not to mention other PMs and Presidents past present and future.

I just don't care about Trump posting a meme that he thought was funny. He did it to annoy people and here you are in another country being annoyed by it, so I guess he hit the target, as it were.

Yamamm · 23/10/2025 04:34

He seems to forget he is everyone’s leader. Not just the people who support him.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 23/10/2025 04:49

He is not only despicable in every way, but he probably has never loaded a washing machine or a dishwasher or been to the supermarket in his life and it rankles that the povvo's think he's one of them .

I wouldn't rule out him not being in office after 2028 if he isn't in the underworld afterlife .

I know about Clinton obviously, affairs have been a staple for most Presudents since Jefferson. My point was that this kind of ridiculously vulgar statement in the public areba is new. Ir's different from sordid/sexually incontinent etc private behaviour.

Clinton & Trump are frankly equal on the truly serious charges: they both have been accused of rape & assault by multiple women, and they both have close ties to Epstein.

You know his refusal to act the way all of the other politicians do is one of the reasons his people love him, right?

He knows he is a dickhead. He owns it, laughs about it, and plays it up. He isn't pretending to be something he is not.

And they love him for it.

I am enjoying the show. It really "bull in a china shop stuff'. Once you realise, basically everything is nonsense, you can see all of the bullshit for what it is. Fantastic stuff.

(As we are not allowed to think anything positive about Trump at all according to the "Be Kind" mob, I will wait to be screamed at and told "Yes, well I don't consider it funny that he...."

And yet it is "the Left" who are screaming about about "Kings" and wanting to depose a democratically elected President in order to uphold democracy.

Because they don't like him, or the people who voted for him.

Utterly fascinating.

Plank in one's own eye comes to mind.

TooBigForMyBoots · 24/10/2025 04:07

The protestors aren't calling for Trump to be deposed. More they want him to stop behaving like a king and want the checks and balances in their Constitution to kick in.

MayaPinion · 24/10/2025 04:11

People elect a shit throwing baboon and then act surprised when he starts throwing shit. Everyone KNOWS who Trump is - they know he’s a manipulative, narcissistic, bullying, racist, thick as mince, misogynistic, prick. That’s why they voted for him - they like those traits in a president. The fact that they applaud him sharing this meme - where he metaphorically shits on the American people he’s supposed to be serving - tells you everything you need to know. He doesn’t care about his country. He just wants power.

I'm not denying it's funny. But that's not the only thing it is.

This isn't about a 'Be Kind Mob' 🙄 Obviusly Trump is a complex person, his presidency had some good achievements (prime one may be if he can hold the Gaza ceasefire)

But it's dangerous for woke oversensitivity to be conflated with any criticism of Trump. I won't go into his negative traits now, aside from one.

His extreme closeness with Epstein and subsequent cover up. THAT alone makes him unfit for his role.

It seems that people are essentially saying that they're resigned to politicians being bad, so they'd rather have one who's openly and amusingly bad.

But world leaders shouldn't be spectacles to laugh at. We should not be resigned to them being a source of entertainment at best. Yes, it's funny. It's also a depressing indictment of politics today, that people in general are so jaded that this outlandish behaviour is seen as the best we can hope for.

Fantastic? Love him?

Sure, on onwe level I can see it's a relief for a polotician to be openly bad.

On the other, this kind of attitude becomes a cancerous rot if left to fester.

No democracy can remain healthy if people 'love' a leader simply because he's OPENLY and not covertly immoral. If people just succumb to nihilistic claims that everything is 'nonsense' and 'bullshit' so it's 'fantastic' if a caricature like Trump comes along.

I'd also challenge the claim that he's no worse in any way than any other politicians. He's probably equal to Clinton in the sexual harassment & abuse department. Biden too. And we know Clinton was linked to Epstein. I don't believe all recent Presidents were as bad in that sphere though. No allegations against Bush or Obama afaik.

Policy-wise, I agree he's as bad as most recent Presidents

You are in fact allowed to think positive things about Trump and even say them. But then other people criticize you because they, believe it or not, also have the right to express their opinions. And then you convince yourself that your freedom of speech is somehow being suppressed. Or at least that is the typical sequence.

What many people seem not to understand is that while you have the right to free speech, you do not have the right to be liked or respected for that speech.

PurpleAxe · 24/10/2025 05:49

The world/humanity is a spectacle to be laughed at.

The whole thing is a farce.
