To think that Sadiq Khan needs investigated?

Considering the ongoing disclosures of the extent of the Pakistani rape gangs in London and Khans refusal to even acknowledge them do we think he has bought the office of Lord Mayor into disrepute?

I’m more concerned about supporting abused girls than defending Sadiq Khan

Are you really concerned about defending abused girls? In that case why are you wasting everyone's time and effort by accusing random people? I don't think you care about abused girls at all. You are probably happy they exist so that they can fuel your racist hate campaign.

Starconundrum · 21/10/2025 22:28

OpheliaIsntMad · 21/10/2025 22:25

Sorry- what does this mean?

What do you think it means?

NotBadConsidering · 21/10/2025 22:29

nomas · 21/10/2025 22:27

She couldn't even say the word county line, she didn't know what it was.

And I don't think Susan Hall would prioritise women, given she says she wouldn't call herself a feminist, called Gemma Collins a “stupid fat blond woman”, and treated a pregnant employee badly.

So what do you think of my answer? Why couldn’t Khan say that?

Forget Hall, focus on the issue. If you focus on Hall you’re admitting that issue isn’t as important as the politics of the person asking the question. Why couldn’t Khan focus on the issue? And if he hasn’t, and women and girls have suffered as a result, don’t you think that needs investigating?

OpheliaIsntMad · 21/10/2025 22:30

nomas · 21/10/2025 21:59

Do you think Susan Hall cares about the young girls being used in county lines in London? Given she doesn't even know what it is?

Do you care about grooming gangs in London given that you think Sadiq Khan’s obfuscation is acceptable?

SeriousFaffing · 21/10/2025 22:32

OpheliaIsntMad · 21/10/2025 22:22

So you think it’s OK for Khan - the Mayor of London - to refuse to answer a question about grooming gangs in London.

Why are you ignoring that he DID answer the question?

Bizarre.

Oh dear …
I’m notquite sure how to reply to someone who is more concerned about protecting the reputation of the Mayor of London than protecting vulnerable girls from sexual abuse.

From london.gov:

Susan Hall asks him about grooming gangs, he replies:

Sir Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London): The situation in London in relation to young people being groomed is different to other parts of the country. What we have in London is young people being groomed - to use your word, not mine - to be used in county lines in relation to sometimes --

Susan Hall AM: OK. Let me make it clear. Sorry, I was not clear enough. I was told I should not be saying rape gangs. They are rape gangs. I am not talking about county lines [she calls them country lines], but to go back, nobody likes me saying rape gangs, although they are rape gangs. Grooming gangs, that I would call rape gangs. Tell me about them. How many of those have we got? Not county lines. Those particular groups.

Sir Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London): To avoid any misunderstanding, can she define what she means by that?

Susan Hall AM: Yes, if you look at what has gone on in Rotherham where there are people taking young girls and grooming them for sex. That is what I am talking about.

Sir Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London): We know in London there are issues about exploitation of young people, but they are not as defined by the Member in her definition of what those types of gangs are.

So he is answering her question.

Here is the exchange, people can decide if he is answering the question or not:

@nomas so because someone asks a rhetorical question their opinion on any other subject has no value? How odd.

SeriousFaffing · 21/10/2025 22:35

Naunet · 21/10/2025 21:16

I'm equalling people who may be themselves or cover for nonces, yes. Got a problem with that?

So, the definition of slander then? Nice one…

You can’t just whip an accusation out of literal thin air. As previously said, on what grounds.

Wild that people don’t worry about not having to adhere to facts in any way shape or form. We descend into swamp politics.

Do you mean 'needs TO BE investigated'?

I’d love to know where the explosion of talking/writing like this has come from! It drives me INSANE!! It doesn’t even sound right, yet more and more people are doing it!

Needs to be investigated
or
Needs investigating

And they're not condemning any of the white paedophiles I've posted about. That have, you know, actual evidence against them.

Does this mean we can accuse anyone of anything?

Shall we accuse Prince Charles or Prince William of abusing children then? Who is exempt from being accused, can you give us a list?

If people can accuse Sadiq Khan of being a nonce (as they have on this thread) then surely anyone is fair game?

I've ascertained that you can't call the racist accusers racist.

Otherwise they'll go out and vote reform, and we'll get what's coming to us.

Which is never clearly explained.

Just like any of the racist shit they say.

OneDearWasp · 21/10/2025 22:45

Dollymylove · 21/10/2025 22:16

This is exactly why these gangs were allowed to operate with impunity for so many years 😡

Gangs got away with abuse for years in large part because those who were supposed to protect them saw the victims as trash. AND in many (not all) cases the abuse was hushed up in .

It's too simple, and might make future abuse more likely, to see only the cover up as the problem. And those on the fringe who seem to believe that only or mainly Pakistani/muslims commit CSE make the world less safe for all young people.

Of course we should enquure into and understand what happened around the grooming gangs in Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford etc in order to prevent future abuse and bring people to account where appropriate. Most people are sensible enough to understand an enquiry into grooming gangs is going to report on grooming gangs without saying all CSE is done in this way. (I am an optimist....)

No - we shouldn’t be able to accuse anyone of anything.
But I do think elected representatives are answerable to things that happen under their watch . ( Not that they’re responsible… just that they need to acknowledge that it’s happening and address it )

OpheliaIsntMad · 21/10/2025 22:48

I’m objecting to Khan’s refusal to engage honestly with the question about grooming gangs .
He chose to frame the question as a racist dog whistle.
He should have been the bigger and better person and put vulnerable children first

Khan needs to be dropped can’t stand him.

And for those of you that like to keep throwing out the racist card. The grooming gang members were exactly that racists. Because let’s not forget that it works both ways believe it or not.

Why is it always on ethnic minorities to be the bigger person when confronted by people who have been openly racist to them?

He chose to frame the question as a racist dog whistle.

A bit victim blamey no?

What a weird question.
I’m Catholic. I would always put the safety of children and vulnerable adults before the reputation of the clergy of the church. I would like to think that most of us have learned something over the last few decades

I don’t see the Mayor of London as the vulnerable person in this situation. So yes - he should be the bigger person
