Motherfucking fireworks

How is this allowed past 8pm, I don't understand.

Cat is terrified, kid took 2 hours to get to sleep only to be woken up 10 min ago by more frigging fireworks.

how on earth is this still allowed??

I hate this time of year.

It's f** triggering. These twats should go and help in Gaza, I'm sure they would not be firing frigging fireworks after that experience !!

thanks for listening :( :( :(

I've let my cat out to go for a wee when its been lovely and peaceful, so stupidly thought it was safe, and 4 nights in a row I've had to go and look for him when some selfish moron is having a display in their garden (wouldn't mind but they're not small fireworks) so I do the decent owner thing and try and get him in.

When I've found him, he's cowering under cars, petrified, so scared he won't leave the so called safety of under a car, and he runs from me, I then have to coax him back in.

It's not acceptable.

What’s not acceptable is not desensitising your animals. I used to have a very nervous cat, she was scared of her own shadow, but we made sure that she wasn’t scared of fireworks. You’re never going to get them banned, so you should work on making sure your animal is okay.

Refugees from war-torn countries must be terrified by the fireworks going off. Why can't they be banned? Surely the government doesn't make that much in tax from them?

Fireworks night is a longstanding tradition. It’s fun and brings the community together. Why should we ban it?

I don't want them banned. I want more control over them.

They should not be allowed in a built up area, where gardens back onto each other. Someone in my area had one come into her house that was let off in the garden behind.

Oh and don't tell me how to deal with my cat. He's a very happy cat just not with loud noises, cats have super sensitive hearing.

Has it brought the community together virtually every night since 30/10? At 11pm? Bullshit. Sorry but for me that shows the opposite of community.

A big community display for one night would brilliantly bring the community together. I fail to see how this applies to dickheads randomly setting off bangers they bought in The Range at random.

It’s absolutely wetting it down outside here, the fireworks are in full flow.

Im more surprised that people have nights without fireworks as they are every day, full daylight or after nightfall, every day/night here. There is a bit of a lull around Feb-May admittedly but every night through summer, autumn, winter, and frequently during the day/well after 11pm.

Whether the neighbours, babies, pets or wildlife like it, or not. (NB I have never bought fireworks myself, have had babies and pets, but they are a daily fact of life and nothing I can do will change it!)

What makes you the most important person in your community?

Fireworks scare and upset people. Why shouldn't they be banned?

StruggleFlourish · 11/11/2025 23:00

Apologies for being late to the discussion here,
but how'd you like to have fireworks every night?

EVERY.
SINGLE.
NIGHT!!!

Not just neighbors; put on by the city.
Approx 5 min each night at 10 pm.
A single shot at 9:50 then 5 min of barrage.
It's been going on for decades now.
(It's a "tourist town".)

Using your argument (which I don't agree with); dogs scare and upset people why shouldn't they be banned? They shouldn't of course.

Are they still going on each night?

They stopped here the day after 5th November.
