That Vinted’s ‘support’ function is crap?

I’ve had the misfortune to need to use Vinted’s help function twice now, in as many weeks. The first time the issue wasn’t resolved by Vinted. Me and the seller sorted it. Now though, I do their need help. The tracking is showing a parcel as delayed, not delivered, but the buyer has confirmed it has in fact been delivered (last week).

I have also reported this to Yodel. But I raised a ticket with Vinted on Saturday. They said ‘we’ll get back to you as soon as possible, but in some cases it may take up to 48 hours.’

It’s now way over that. I have obviously messaged again. But nothing. It’s so frustrating. The item I sold wasn’t cheap either.

Has anyone had any success contacting Vinted by any other means?

Yep, I’ve never known customer (lack of) service like it.
And the problem is, there doesn’t seem to be any other way of getting in touch with them.

Shop was full and this was the nearest alternative (it wasn't )
Vinteds response .......I had to go and drive and collect it ffs for a £1 book
Had to wait about a month for vinted to agree it has got lost 🙄

That option isn’t there for them.
It’s still showing for both of us as ‘Delivery is taking longer than expected.’

Despite the fact the parcel was delivered nearly a week ago. 🙄

That is ludicrous. 😣

I suspect this will end up being marked as ‘lost.’ Given my messages to Vinted are going unread …. so at this rate, yeah, it will be the month for the ‘lost’ action to kick in.

Up until now I’ve had no problems with Vinted. The last few weeks it’s been rubbish.

Or indeed human agents.
I think their ‘support’ service must be ‘staffed’ by AI bots.

Presume you are new to Vinted. They don’t have humans, only chatbots. You cannot reason with a lump of plastic and metal which is what their “customer service agents” are made of.

@MotherTuckinGenius - no, I’ve been using it for a while now. But it’s only recently I’ve had cause to need help.
First time I got no help. Fine, it wasn’t really needed, me and the seller could actually sort it. But now, I do need help. And I’m getting nowhere.

So what do you do when you actually need shizz to get done?

Yep I'm having an issue with them too. Buyer has stated the parcel wasn't at the collection point as tracking showed, refunded buyer but vinted have said the parcel will be returned to me rather than refunding both of us. But the parcel is lost. I've sold loads through them, it all works until it doesn't.

They are massive issues with Vinted at the moment. They recently merged InPost and Yodel (I think) and it’s caused chaos.

I had 3 things go missing in a row, and yes, customer service is a pile of shit. Probably won’t use it again.

@Netcurtainnelly - I’ve finally had a reply to my query. So I was actually able to provide feedback.
I also have 3 other sales going through (fingers crossed they go smoothly). But yes, good point. I will provide feedback on those about the crap support function. Thank you - that is an excellent reminder!

@HansHolbein - oh yeah, I do wonder if the Yodel / InPost merger has anything to do with it. Thinking about it, that when the deterioration I’ve noticed started.

I think their customer service is staffed by bots too. It’s absolutely terrible customer service and it really puts me off. They charge a specific fee for customer protection- what is this being spent on?

They are appalling and I will never sell on there again. I sold a valuable wool coat on there and never got paid due to the impossibility of contacting a support person who could give me advice that worked after I hit a glitch. The buyer was not at fault - she did her best but the system failed us both.

I’m sorry to hear this. It has really made me think twice about selling anything on there again, or at least anything over say a tenner (if I lost a tenner I’d be pissed off, but I’d cope). The item I was having the issue with was significantly more. I’ve learned my lesson there, never again.

Case closed as far as vinted are concerned I think. On the help page it says to wait 25 days before requesting compensation so I'll wait until then I guess. Luckily it is just my daughters second hand clothes rather than anything expensive!

Does anyone know of an alternative to Vinted? I’ve been stuck with a fake pair of Birkenstocks, which, after I reported it, was told there was no issue, so I’m out of pocket. I quite like the concept but I’ve decided I’m scrapping Vinted, it’s a pile of shite so I’ll vote with my feet - would be good to find an alternative to it.

Well it’s how they make their money, it is basically ththe Vinted fee.

I agree though their customer service is atrocious, it’s why I don’t sell anything worth more than £20 on it because if something goes wrong they don’t even bother to try and sort it.
