Hi everyone!
Im due my second baby at the end of this year and am struggling with names!
I was wondering if any of you would be willing to share the names you’ve called your children or names of grandchildren/neices/nephews etc.
Sometimes I think it’s nicer to hear about people’s actual choices, whether they regret or love their choice, how it suits their child etc.
I have read through almost every list going - thought this might be a different way to get some ideas!
Thank you so much

DCs childminder has a little girl called Everly and I absolutely love it. If I was crazy enough to have another girl I would use it.

Jacob Rease Mog called his 6th sextus (6 in latin)

That's not 6 in Latin. He's called "Sixtus", which means "polished".
Ignore what AI tells you, they paid no attention in Latin lessons.

Maybe they thought up the name when she was Everly pregnant.

BatchCookBabe · 17/10/2025 21:18

I'm not telling you that sorry @Otterlyadorable

Go to the Baby Names board for some inspiration!

Beaux-Lilah and Maci-Lea

Just beautiful. I love the way Maci Lea rhymes with "Maccy D".

Seeing as fashions for names go round in circles, I thought I might tell you the names of my grandparents, great grandparents and other family members of those generations but they are all quite ordinary.

The most unusual one I can come up with is the name of my French ex boyfriend's (from many years ago) grandma:

Napoléone.

As in Napoléon Bonaparte but made more féminine with the "e".

I don't think it was a popular choice even in her generation because I've never come across another Napoléone before or since.

I don't really think that's going to give you much inspiration for naming your baby, OP and if it does, well, I wish I never spoke to be honest. Lovely lady, in herself, but...

Nope. Sixtus means "polished"
Sextus is 6th.

We always give people names to our cats
Recent names have been Reuben, James, Evie, Charlie, Lucy - current Dcat is Finlay
DS was nearly Joel, DD was nearly Abigail but would have been Abby
I was nearly Madeleine after my GM

You can't call a kid number 2.

My second is called Deux.

Well tbf the second child is always a bit of a little shit in my experience. So figured number two was a good name 🤷‍♀️
