What are your children called?

Hi everyone!
Im due my second baby at the end of this year and am struggling with names!
I was wondering if any of you would be willing to share the names you’ve called your children or names of grandchildren/neices/nephews etc.
Sometimes I think it’s nicer to hear about people’s actual choices, whether they regret or love their choice, how it suits their child etc.
I have read through almost every list going - thought this might be a different way to get some ideas!
Thank you so much

I would've used Sebastian, Gabriel, Tabitha and Tallulah if I'd dared. But we gave them normal names. I also like Kit.

Jacob Rease Mog called his 6th sextus (6 in latin)

Sixtus. Don’t be disgusting.

NannyOggsScones · 17/10/2025 19:31

The boy and the girl. When nosy people asked me what I was going to call them when I was pregnant I used to say “Ulysses” which I’m now regretting not using for DS.

I love it! Gary is a great name.

Gary is underrated to be fair. I think it's due a comeback!

Lululemonade11 · 17/10/2025 19:31

For girls, old fashioned names seem to be making a comeback

Beatrice, Alice, Esmee, Maeve

Whatshesaid96 · 17/10/2025 19:32

I had Imogen and Felicity on our girl list. I think our boy list just had Stanley on it apart from the name we chose for DS.

My DD and DS have traditional timeless names but are in the top 20

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 17/10/2025 19:33

I didn't call DD Sophia, if that helps.

I always really liked the name Andromeda, after watching Clash of The Titans, as a child. Alas it never happened.

I met a baby Mabel the other day and thought it was a lovely name.

dontcomeatme · 17/10/2025 19:26

I don't see how this could really be outing.
I have a Henry and an Edward. Love both their names, Edward gets Eddie or Ted as NN. I loved Jacob at the time but a friend stole it first 😅

What's your first called and do you know the sex of second? X

My children both have uncommon names, the combination of the two would make it absolutely clear it was me posting should someone who knows me read it

Iheartmysmart · 17/10/2025 19:38

My dad was dreadful with names so I was called Number 2 Daughter by him mostly. DS has a short, three letter name as his surname is quite long. I was going to call him Amy if he’d been a girl.

I had a car called Gary, my most recent one is called Gus and I have a female kitten with a boy’s name as I was told she was male. By the time I found out her sex, I’d already registered her at the vets and insured her and couldn’t be bothered to change it.,

TheCrenchinglyMcQuaffenBrothers · 17/10/2025 19:38

Farquhar and Farquharson.
And that’s just the girls.

zebrazoop · 17/10/2025 19:38

Knobhead

Toadetta · 17/10/2025 19:40

I don't think many posters will be willing to say their children's names in case it outs them.

I will say that I liked the sound of my son's name with our surname because they start with the same letter. (Example Sam Smith) I just thought it sounded cute and flowed well and in my family middle names are usually to honour someone else (like a late relative) and never just random names.

hyggetyggedotorg · 17/10/2025 19:40

I will as mine are all top 20/30 & all are adults so very few security issues.

Jack, Thomas, Poppy & Mia.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/10/2025 19:41

I very rarely call either of them by their actual names. It’s either a diminutive of their names or a pet name or something random.

Thinking about it, I very rarely get called my own name, I’m mom or darling or a pet name from my family or a shortening of my name. Even a nick name based on my maiden name (that I haven’t been called for 25+ years) by my school friends.

so, don’t sweat it. Choose something you love and trust The process.

RedRiverShore5 · 17/10/2025 19:42

My adult DC is called Jack, I doubt this is 'outing'

SauceySally · 17/10/2025 19:42

Do you also want our mother’s maiden name, first pet's name and the road we grew up on?

ComfortFoodCafe · 17/10/2025 19:43

Ethel & Gary.

KookyRoseCrab · 17/10/2025 19:44

I like Annie

Cinaferna · 17/10/2025 19:47

There have been a LOT of posts recently asking things like tell us your name/where you were born/live. They may be legitimate but that's a lot of potential information harvesting about MN users.

Please don't ask for or give away sensitive personal information

ThatshallotBaby · 17/10/2025 19:47

I loved but couldn’t or didn’t use, Gabriel, Honor,
