I think the OP (and a few others) have made it clear it was sarcasm now though! Smile

I really thought I had, especially with the link!

Can't believe we have Ian Watkins Truthers now - a man of whom there was reportedly a wealth of photographic and video evidence showing him participating in his crimes, as well as a wealth of witness evidence, and who ultimately plead guilty and then made light of his crimes.

Did you reply to the wrong post before this because I don’t follow.

Mega Lolz 🥳

Persistently mocking her in an an embarrassingly cringeworthy manner, with the sorts of insults that most teenagers would find embarrassingly immature, and doing a particularly witless job of it (and, hilariously, trying to hold yourself out as the adult in the exchange.

While, all the while, apparently being too stupid to follow the conversation that you're attempting to have.

Genuinely thought I mind die of secondhand embarrassment reading your halfwitted attemps at shit posting.

Did you, aye? Poor. Just poor. Embarrassed by you.

How can you say that, it is most likely true.

I assumed it was true too - that he was killed for non-nonce related reasons.

He would have been quite a lucrative cash cow in prison, what with all the buying favours and protection he reportedly had to do. He could more than afford it.

Prisoners generally don't have such exorbitant sensibilities that they'd be willing to cut off a large and plentiful income stream due to moral outrage at the nature of a fellow inmate's crimes. The people who get prison napalmed will have had nothing like his personal wealth.

Haven’t seen anyone on this thread denying his crimes.

That post was just saying that whoever killed him probably did it for their own reasons, rather than as vengeance for his crimes. The killer could easily be a child abuser too after all.

I’m thinking the person I was replying to actually was replying in the first place to the wrong post.

GrannyWeatherwaxsHatpin · 11/10/2025 21:52

I was a huge LostProphtets fan, seeing them perform at Reading as the sun went down on the Sunday night remains one of the best acts I've ever seen.

Watkins made a big thing of being 'straight edge' so it was horrifying when he was convicted of these crimes. IIRC he blamed drugs, but that was clearly bullshit as he apparently described it all as 'lolz' when he was in prison.

It's rare for me to say I'm glad someone's dead but I can't shed a tear for this monster.

Don't think she's ok if I'm honest x

Fair enough! I misread/misunderstood the first post in the chain.

Ah I thought I was going mad

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 11/10/2025 21:58

@ThatDreamyLemonBiscuit the previous stabbing of Watkins in prison was over a drug debt, or so it was reported. He paid other prisoners to keep him protected after that according to Wiki, but the first stabbing was drugs related not due to what he'd done to children.

I dont think @InterIgnis was denying Watkin's abhorrent crimes. I think she was saying that he might have been killed in prison for other reasons such as drug debt.

GoingOutOutAgain · 11/10/2025 21:58

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 11/10/2025 18:17

I strongly strongly advise no one - especially a mother of young children - reads into the details of the case against him. I cannot ever remove that from my head and stopped after the first page.

Yes I read it all years ago and it honestly has never quite left me. It was horrifying.

I also just can’t fathom the mothers who enabled him to do this. They didn’t just turn a blind eye they actively took part. Cunts.

PruthePrune · 11/10/2025 17:56

Well done to the lag that did it.

The lag who did it was almost certainly another sex offender, given that Watkins would not have been on the general wing. Do you really want to celebrate sex offenders and murderers?

CryMyEyesViolet · 11/10/2025 17:35

Ah good news - I can now stream lostprophets again without the guilt that he’ll get royalties (I’ve not streamed since he was convicted).

Yeah, but his estate will still get it!

He was paying other inmates for protection apparently. Maybe he ran out of funds.

A lot of people will assume that the inmate who murdered him did so because they had moral objections to his crimes, but the last time he was attacked in prison it was widely reported to be due to an unpaid drug debt.

Yes, I suspect he was killed for unpaid debts. Not an execution for his crimes outside prison. But good outcome anyway.

Edited

Feels a bit bloodless but I suppose one could celebrate it from the point of view of 'killing two birds with one stone'. One sex offender/murderer offing another means 1) one problem permanently disposed of and 2) the other one has vastly reduced his chances of being freed to roam the streets again.

Well so fucking what? I always feel sorry for the family of people like Watkins who get tainted with the crime fof the rest of their lives. Having read about the effects of the moors murders on MH sister and mother, who effectively became recluses in the aftermath, for example.
Its not the family 's fault this happened.

littlbrowndog · 11/10/2025 22:04

I think what is important that the police were told over a number of years what this man was capable off and what he wanted to do to small children

they refused to believe the woman who told them over and over in long period of time

it’s very jimmy saville. He was a famous pop star and she was a deluded fan

the babies could have not have the rape inflicted on them if the police had done their job

Dillydollydingdong · 11/10/2025 22:05

Don't be silly. Pointing out that Watkins may have been killed for reasons other than other scum criminals having a loathing of paedophiles does not make anyone a truther. Much as you'd love to think he was killed to avenge his victims, it's at least possible he was killed for other reasons such as owing the wrong person money and failing to pay.

If you're glad this happened to Ian Watkins, are you also in favour of capital punishment? Because you really can't be of the 'hope they turned a blind eye' brigade and also oppose the death penalty, can you? Or is murdering a monster okay if a prisoner did it? I'm also reminded of David Blunkett's comments about cracking open the champagne when Shipman killed himself. We should just be honest and say that none of these bastards deserve to live.

My only objection to capital punishment is that I dont trust the State to administer it.

Otherwise, there are absolutely crimes for which death is an appropriate punishment, or for which it is best to just put the person down because society should not have to tolerate them/they are too dangerousto have around.

Raping a baby meets that threshold easily.

Sometimes the garbage takes itself out.
