Tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if this actually had nothing to do with his crimes, but was the result of him pissing off the wrong person for unrelated reasons.

AhBiscuits · 11/10/2025 21:11

CountryQueen · 11/10/2025 21:06

Ugh. That’s just vile. How can you laugh at that?

@janeandmarysmumyour wish is granted. I’m off. This thread is sick

Because its karma. He thought his crimes were mega lolz. Many of us think his death is mega lolz.

Marmaladeisntheonlypreserve · 11/10/2025 21:11

Are the mothers of those poor children still banged up?

Quamarina · 11/10/2025 21:11

PeonyPatch · 11/10/2025 21:05

Yeah I know… but to put that on this thread feels a bit… I don’t know, poor taste?!?!

Agreed, it was his catchphrase at height of lostprophets fame. Quite jarring to read it on mumsnet. I watched them in concert on TV & it was on a huge backdrop behind him onstage. But I don’t think anyone on here remembers that probably & I’m sure no malice or mirth intended

MissRaspberry · 11/10/2025 21:12

It's one less paedo in the world but even death is too good for him
I hope he suffered miserably

Now THIS is an actual sickening and deranged response.

I can't believe there are still people who are willing to minimize.

Minimize how bad Steps were?

Marmaladeisntheonlypreserve · 11/10/2025 21:11

Are the mothers of those poor children still banged up?

I don’t know if that would have been reported on, but one was given 14 years and the other 17, so it’s not impossible that one or both have been released.

Pinkiefive · 11/10/2025 21:14

I hope he suffered. I definitely hope that there was something nice and sharp being shoved where the sun don't shine so he got solar pain to what he did to those babies.

Zanatdy · 11/10/2025 21:14

Kimura · 11/10/2025 21:12

Minimize how bad Steps were?

Wrong Ian Watkins.

Quamarina · 11/10/2025 21:15

AhBiscuits · 11/10/2025 21:11

Because its karma. He thought his crimes were mega lolz. Many of us think his death is mega lolz.

@AhBiscuits it was his catchphrase in the band, on fan t shirts, wristbands, in 15 foot letter backdrops on their stage sets. it’s just a bit grubby repeating it, in the same vein as the ‘Jim will fix it’ jokes that were going about when that other monster died. But I don’t think you mean any unkindness or jokiness, it’s only lostprophets fans that would even remember this.

ThatDreamyLemonBiscuit · 11/10/2025 21:15

Kimura · 11/10/2025 21:12

Minimize how bad Steps were?

That was, indeed, the joke.

Are the mothers of those poor children still banged up?

According to Google they were both released in 2021. But that's from an AI response and not an actual article.

Oh and I'm off out. So I won't see any of your further responses, very sorry about that.

The court sentencing remarks were one of the worst things I ever read. Horrendous man. Good riddance.

because of your post I googled and read them
I am utterly traumatised

This isn’t something I can get upset over. Hope he felt pain as his life drained from him the piece of shit

I haven't agreed with most of with @DrowningInSyrup 's posts but she's right that you have made yourself look a prize bellend.

bollockyness · 11/10/2025 21:22

I just Googled to see when his parole date might have been and came across a Change.org petition where someone was petitioning for him to be out by his 50th birthday as he had "been through a lot". Over 100 people had signed the petition. The mind boggles.

Well done, Joanne, for what you did to help the babies and children. I’m so sorry for the gaslighting you endured, from the police and children’s social care. You were very brave.

FOJN · 11/10/2025 21:25

My overriding feeling is one of relief. Now we know for sure that he can never hurt another child which can only be viewed as a net positive for the world.
