Trump couldn't manage a coherent sentence in 2016 and he's gone rapidly downhill since. Anyone with a relative who has suffered from dementia will recognise the signs. This is like Reagsn's second term, only without any adults in the administration.

Even if that were to be true, he's also caused a darn sight more conflict both domestically and in the world than Obama ever did. How many coups on the White House did Obama incite? How many times did he take national guard into states that didn't vote for him, without the governor's permission? How many times did Obama ever try to prosecute somebody just because they refused to carry out his bidding? How many countries did Obama try to make a part of the US? How many Gulfs has be renamed? How many children did he put in cages, with no tracking system and no plans to reunite them with their families? How many people did Obama ever send to El Salvador's mega prison? Which of the two ordered Guantanamo bay to be closed, and which ordered it to be reopened to send immigrants to?

That's the clever thing. If you add a subheading "sue me if I'm wrong" then the only way that he can stop you is by going to court. Where his team would be forced to disclose everything.

The news of the moment always seems the most important but maybe in 2 months this peace deal is all forgotten about.

Trump is active and forceful which is good for getting things like this pushed through. I wish Biden had been as strident with Bibi so I’ll give Trump that. The problem is that a peace deal is not like a deal of real estate. There’s a whole host of complexities that need to be faced. It’s not a done deal that there will be peace.

The real achievement is making peace not signing a bit of paper for peace.

I do think he deserves credit if the hostages are released and a ceasefire stays. However lots of presidents and leaders have done such things without getting the peace prize. The reward should be peace not a medal for your legacy.

Tough one.

The cease fire is important as it stops the people who have no power, to not be used as pawns for the people that do. If this is sustainable it would be amazing for those people- who just want to get on with their lives without having to constantly be vigilant for danger. I am fully supportive for this.

I think only somone like Trump could have actually got the right people around the table at the same time. There has to be a pay off for him to intervene to this degree, so I don't think he is at all noble in anyway.

I also think the Nobel Prize is bullshit especially when politicians get it including Barack Obama. So I don't have an issue with Trump getting it, it will give him something to talk about for a while and get him off topics that cause harm.

Look at the devastation we are left with. I listened to a description from an envoy flying over Gaza and watching aghast as below him he saw that there was absolutely nothing left of it. Trump aided a genocide and now that there is nothing left to blast reckons to have brokered peace?

When the surviving children, who witnessed their parents and peers blown apart, come of age the world may itself come to witness terrible acts of retribution. To my mind the Nobel peace prize money should go to the Palestinian survivors of Gaza as an aid to their healing.
