@SweetChilliGirl Oman was/is (its been a long time since I was there) beautiful and the people were / are so friendly. Algeria is also interesting though unfortunately I was there during Covid so didnt really see anything outside of Oran.

My favourite places.... Japan, Oman and Botswana.
Places I'd like to go... back to Iraq to actually see more of the country, Guadeloupe, Argentina and Norway.

XWKD · 06/10/2025 17:14

I loved Moscow. I have always had a craving to visit Japan.

CoralOP · 06/10/2025 17:16

Ooo and Norway had stunning scenery, we went on a cruise there and it was gorgeous x

DisplayPurposesOnly · 06/10/2025 17:17

Safari photo - elephants digging for fresh water (they are quite fussy apparently). Note the baby carefully surrounded for its safety (lots of crocs around). Baby elephants dont have full control of their trunks til they're about six months old so this one was very wobbly 😃

Ee well, probably not many people agree with me but NYC was one of my least favourite. I really appreciated how amazing it is but there's so much I didn't like about it, the traffic, the smells, dirty streets, people trying to scam us on the street, taxi drivers trying to scam us, very expensive food and drink....but still love that I've been 🤣🤣

Omg 😭😭 yabu!

No i can imagine its a must see but definitely a lot of tourist traps - still if I could live in an NYC skyscraper, my life would be made 😌😌

I got chased by very creepy men unfortunately…

Aaah, that's not good. Assuming you weren't involved in criminal activities, if I'm 66 do you think I'd have the same problem?,

I had put off visiting Venice for years as I was afraid it wouldn't live up to my expectations. Went last October - it was mind-blowing!!!

I want to go to places with big mountainous backdrops - the Rockies, Canada, Alps, New Zealand. Not to hike or ski, just to look at!

OK, I lied about Norway. Best place I ever visited was Venice. Seriously.

CoralOP · 06/10/2025 17:31

This might sound a bit crazy but I got a 'game' for my sons vr machine and it was about world travels (think it was by lonely planet).
You pick anywhere in the world and 'land' there and get to look around.
It works off Google Street maps but it's a more imersive view. You can be standing on a cliff edge in Mongolia or in a residential street in Australia, its really interesting and a great chance to see places x

MagicLoop · 06/10/2025 17:31

Favourites are New Zealand and Rome, although we went to Iceland this summer, which was stunning.
Place I'd most like to go to... India, particularly the mountainous areas and the hill stations.

MrsHamlet · 06/10/2025 17:32

Iran.

Kazakhstan maybe. Or Mongolia. Or North Dakota.

NebulousDeadline · 06/10/2025 17:36

Loved Peru, Japan and Moscow & St Petersburg. Really want a trip on the Orient Express or other
luxury train. Though the idea might be more appealing than the reality.

Purplebunnie · 06/10/2025 17:36

West Coast of Scotland is absolutely stunning any time of year, I've not been to the East Coast. Prompted by another PP I now want to visit Austria and possibly Switzerland but the place I would most like to go is Petra

Femalefootyfan · 06/10/2025 17:39

I love Australia, going back next year for our 5th visit and including two cities we haven’t been to yet. Off the back of that, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef and The Whitsundays, just stunning.

Love Barbados and Capetown, not so keen on NYC for the same reasons as a pp. Also loved Cambodia, Vietnam and Bali

On my ‘go to’ list is The Maldives and Costa Rica

elliesmummy19 · 06/10/2025 17:39

We went to Canada over the summer (BC) and it was by far the best place I’ve been.

I’m desperate to go to Japan. I’d really love to go to San Francisco too.

Want to go to Moscow

Best place - Vietnam by a country mile

Ohh! Yes! Moscow was my favourite city. St Basil’s cathedral was on my bucket list to see and it was beautiful.

Lansonmaid · 06/10/2025 17:46

Really want to go to South Georgia and Antarctica. Fascinated by the tales of the early 20th century polar explorers like Scott and Shackleton and I’d love to see the wildlife as well

Difficult to choose the best place I’ve been to but Norway takes a lot of beating, absolutely stunning scenery and lovely people.

WaltzingWaters · 06/10/2025 17:49

Lots of all places with amazing diving I’d love to visit still.

Best places I’ve been:

  • Iguazu Falls - just wow!
  • Guatemala - the Mt Acatenango hike in particular. At the top you camp the night and watch Mt Fuego volcano next to it erupting frequently which is just incredible. And you’re all above the clouds which feels like something out of this world!
  • Philippines - beautiful and incredible diverse scuba diving.
  • Nicaragua
  • Japan
countrygirl99 · 06/10/2025 17:50

Best so far Zimbabwe, Iceland and Belize.
Want to go to Patagonia, Greenland, and I'd love to see polar bears and orang utans and trek in the Himalayas. Having just watched the Michael Palin series on Venezuela it looks fascinating. Have got Ecuador cloud forest and Galapagos booked for next year.

GivingUpFinally · 06/10/2025 17:52

Have travelled a fair bit. Next on the list is Latvia.

And so far believe it or not Paris is by far my favourite city. Absolutely adore France.

BumpyWinds · 06/10/2025 17:59

Really want to do the Rocky Mountaineer in Canada followed by an Alaskan cruise.

Best place I've ever been was New Zealand. If it wasn't so far away, I'd have moved there 20 years ago.

whiteroseredrose · 06/10/2025 18:05

Would love to go to Jordan and see Petra. Hopefully we are going next April.

Best places I’ve been are Iceland and Vietnam.

muddyford · 06/10/2025 18:06

I would love to visit my best friend in Australia.
Best places I have visited are Japan and Italy.
