Nearly 500 arrested for support for Palestinian Action Group a proscribed terrorist organisation

NototerrorismIntheUK · 05/10/2025 09:16

This is getting ridiculous. The same group, think they can do what they want which includes, using a sledgehammer to attack a person, breaking into a military base and causing millions of pounds worth of damage. Hatred towards Jewish people.

It appears these people feel the law doesn't apply to them. None of the above is peaceful protest. Stronger sentences or fines are needed.

"Israeli propaganda"

"I've not seen that"

"I'm going to ignore the news about thuggish pro-Palestinian protestors assaulting police officers to focus on the elderly one arrested for supporting a proscribed terrorist organisation"

"We'll only find out why that police officer was in hospital when it goes to court"

"They didn't call for the beheading of Jews"

Edited to add "Netanyahu says from the river to the sea" as if that makes it ok to call for the annihilation of Israel on the streets of Leeds.

Edited

You're right, noblegiraffe; I missed some of those, and doubtless more because with some supporters already having shown exactly what they are, repetition becomes depressing

I must admit the provocative display outside a jewish book of condolence was a new one on me, but again hardly a surprise from such mentalities - and as ever it's knowingly enabled by our utterly spineless government

stomachamelon · 05/10/2025 12:42

I Don’t know how many times I have been ‘told’ on here that I am
not scared
haven’t seen anything
clearly not been to any marches they have
’there are loads of Jews there’
I am a bot
a shill
in Israel’s pay/pocket.

My thoughts on the marches are… I don’t mind them going on when they aren’t antisemitic which o think most are (even if it’s the few), I think this weekend should have been postponed, intimidation like we have seen in Manchester should be quashed strongly particularly in light of what the mayor and leader of the council said and finally…..

the arrests are a concerted effort by PA targeted at a specific group of people (look at the average age and type of person) to illicit the strongest response. Eg we are being played.

stomachamelon · 05/10/2025 12:43

@Puzzledandpissedoffthey should have been moved on.

As Netanyahu has admitted to using social media as a propaganda tool, I think there is definitely a concerted Israeli campaign."

Lol, what about Pallywood and their fakery? AI photos and badly acted videos, and that 'journalist' that's died about 10 times so far. Social media is a tool in every conflict now, it's not just Netanyahu at it. Question and verify everything.

Ah, made up or selective quoting, how fun.

You posted a video of someone saying ‘from the river to the sea’ and I posted Netanyahu saying ‘from the river to the sea’.

I agree that neither should be saying such crap.

Not sure what else you want.

Did you even watch the video? It doesn't sound like you did. Because otherwise you are grossly misrepresenting what was said.

Of course, stomachchameleon, but had this been attempted I can almost guarantee they'd have dropped to the ground and shrieked "police brutalitty" while being carted away ... and the useful idiots would believe them

LakieLady · 05/10/2025 12:03

Postponing was discussed at at least two PSC groups that I know of.

Because the demonstration had been organised well before the awful events in Manchester, all the necessary legal notices had been issued, transport and, in some cases, accommodation, had been booked and paid for, childcare arranged etc, the consensus was that it would be better to proceed as originally planned.

There was also a concern that people might not get the cancellation message and would turn up anyway, and there would be no marshals to keep a handle on things.

Could have sent the Marshalls AND messaged everybody that the protest was off to show respect for the Jewish community and acknowledge the importance of peace and support for British social cohesion and community at a difficult time.

This would have sent a powerful message of respect and dignity.

There is also a peace process happening now.

“I had to do something that changing circumstances have made both ridiculous and nasty because I had booked accommodation and childcare” is quite the vacuous excuse. Could have had a nice day out instead.

"London, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Muslims chanting: "Khayber Khayber Ya Yehud, jaish Mohammad sauf ya’ud."
A call for the beheading of Jews on the streets of Britain."

Seriously is there no hatred that you won't defend. I'm assuming you actually watched tge various clips posted or are you just looking for arguments to keep busy. Whatever.

I think a lot of people aren't aware that this is a reference to the massacre of Jews in Khayber in around 628.

You know I am genuinely sorry for the way you and other Jews are being treated around these marches with the gaslighting and minimising. I don't know what else to say really. Jews being killed on the streets of Manchester should have been a turning point. None are so blind as those who simply won't see.

But the previous poster googled and came up with a way to make it about Israel, not Jews even though it literally says Jews so that's just fine.

"Yahud" - Jew.

Anyone that attends these matches supporting terrorism and Hamas need to think carefully about their own morals and ethics.

They seem to argue that is for the ‘babies of Gaza’, whilst refusing point blank to recognise a similar outcome for the tiny Jewish babies asleep on the 7th of October. They refuse every single time to engage in the loss of precious life on BOTH sides.

Gaza is only in this position at all because of Hamas.

Do the protesters care to protest against the disgraceful governance of Hamas? Putting weapons and artillery under schools? Holding hostage totally innocent people?

Why don’t they protest against that?

Why on earth aren’t they supporting a peace deal?

The Israelis have killed more children under in this round of killings than the total number of Israelis killed in the filthy Hamas attack.

You might want to reflect on whether you ought to be supporting that.

A pox on Hamas and a pox on Netanyahu.

That’s where I sit on this issue. Netanyahu is a monster as are Hamas. He has single-handedly taken an unforgivable atrocity for which he had global empathy and used it to feed anti-semitism on a huge scale. He has done Hamas’s job for them. I feel deeply for British Jews suffering as a result - which is not to say I don’t also feel as deeply for Gaza's women and children.

I agree NB is doing Hamas job for them. Hopefully the Israeli people will stand up and select a new moderate leader next time.

Oh, speaking of the New York Times, here they are having to apologise for using one of Hamas' fake 'starving' children:

I get the feeling that nothing is going to convince certain people, they just don’t want to know things that don’t fit their narrative.

The fact that Jewish people are again feeling persecuted and unsafe in this country (as is the case in my home country) should make everyone pause and have a serious think.

There has been the obvious open hatred for the Jewish community as evidenced on the marches etc and also the more subtle kind.

Nothing is challenged, ever.

Hollywood and the entertainment industry are part of the problem too. Countries like Spain wanting to withdraw from Eurovision unless Israel is banned. A whole host of actors writing and signing an open letter calling for the Israeli film industry to be boycotted.

It’s not acceptable and it needs to be called out. Every single time.

I don't think Nestingbirds WAS saying she supported it? Unless I've misunderstood you?

Xenia · 05/10/2025 13:39

Both sides will not convince the other, but here in the UK we need people to abide by the law as to marches and as to all the other issues. PA is prohibited now. It should not be unsafe for Jewish people in the UK to go about their business (nor any other people). We have moved to a position where they are less safe than they were and that is not good enough (I am Christian not Jewish).

Nope, I'm quite happy for people not want to compete against Israel (or Russia) in singing or sporting competitions right now.

I also don't think that the World Cup should have been held in Qatar.

This is a separate issue to Jews feeling unsafe on the streets of the UK.

@PsychedelicPoetrysorry to burst your bubble but Unity Mitford was Diana Mitford’s sister not daughter. She also survived the shooting. She had an obsession with hitler. All the sisters were somewhat extreme in their passions if you know the Mitfords well and included a communist, socialist, Nazi sympathiser and socialite/ member of the aristocracy.

Yes, Unity Mitford was Diana Mosley’s sister. I’ll edit my post.

PsychedelicPoetry · 05/10/2025 13:55

Oswald Mosley, leader of the British Union of Fascists, was imprisoned in 1940 under Defence Regulation 18B because the government (led by Winston Churchill) saw him as a potential threat to national security and suspected Nazi sympathies. He was held without trial for over three years and released in 1943 on health grounds. His wife Diana Mosley was also imprisoned. Their daughter shot herself in the head in Germany the day war was declared. Hitler paid her medical expenses. So the British Union of Fascists had become unpopular by that time.

Unity Mitford was the sister of Diana Mosley, who was imprisoned as well as Oswald Mosley because the government, led by Winston Churchill, thought they were both credible threats to national security.
