Nearly 500 arrested for support for Palestinian Action Group a proscribed terrorist organisation

This is getting ridiculous. The same group, think they can do what they want which includes, using a sledgehammer to attack a person, breaking into a military base and causing millions of pounds worth of damage. Hatred towards Jewish people.

It appears these people feel the law doesn't apply to them. None of the above is peaceful protest. Stronger sentences or fines are needed.

It’s frightening isn’t it?

And they honestly believe they’re the good guys.

All in the name of 'free speech'

He should be arrested for hate speech but where does he say ‘beheaded’?

It’s bad enough as it is without you inventing more to it.

"London, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Muslims chanting: "Khayber Khayber Ya Yehud, jaish Mohammad sauf ya’ud."
A call for the beheading of Jews on the streets of Britain."

Seriously is there no hatred that you won't defend. I'm assuming you actually watched tge various clips posted or are you just looking for arguments to keep busy. Whatever.

Postponing was discussed at at least two PSC groups that I know of.

Because the demonstration had been organised well before the awful events in Manchester, all the necessary legal notices had been issued, transport and, in some cases, accommodation, had been booked and paid for, childcare arranged etc, the consensus was that it would be better to proceed as originally planned.

There was also a concern that people might not get the cancellation message and would turn up anyway, and there would be no marshals to keep a handle on things.

Defend the Juries were very clear that their protest supporting a proscribed terrorist group would go ahead because they are more important than the terrorist attack on a synagogue. Nothing to do with logistics, everything to do with self-righteousness.

Yep.

I wonder how far you’d get if the targets of your free speech were black people/ Muslims or any other minority.

It reminds me of the “protests” on 8th October, Israel hadn’t lifted a finger, it was still counting it’s dead while rockets were flying in from Gaza and Lebanon. Those protests were actually celebrations. We have some truly disgusting people in the UK.

Sadly we do.

It’s unbelievable isn’t it?

I’m starting to think some people just don’t want to see the truth.

Here is who the police are calling terrorists. Elderly people who can barely get up.

How easy is it to cancel large scale protests?

Look at the size of the Barca protest.

There was a hundred people at the one in Manchester on Thursday. One hundred. They couldn’t have just not gone as it was the same day?

I agree.

And they didn’t even have the decency to hold off for one bloody week as a mark of respect.

How morally bankrupt do you have to be to continue doing something you know is going to make a community which has just experienced a terror attack even more fearful?

I honestly despair.

This was particularly egregious.

The jew hatred is a feature, not a bug. And these people have lost my support.

Which word of that Arabic phrase is ‘beheading’? There isn’t.

Inventing stuff doesn’t help anyone and often lets people get away with illegal behaviour.

That's awful.

I mean, the conclusion is that those attending were probably quite pleased that some Jews were killed.

Just like when PSC put in an application for a pro-Palestine march in London while Hamas was in the middle of slaughtering Jews at a music festival.

Do you think that picking at the words of a chant calling for the death of Jews is the right side of history?

Accomodation? Not locals then.

Nestingbirds · 05/10/2025 12:23

Anyone that attends these matches supporting terrorism and Hamas need to think carefully about their own morals and ethics.

They seem to argue that is for the ‘babies of Gaza’, whilst refusing point blank to recognise a similar outcome for the tiny Jewish babies asleep on the 7th of October. They refuse every single time to engage in the loss of precious life on BOTH sides.

Gaza is only in this position at all because of Hamas.

Do the protesters care to protest against the disgraceful governance of Hamas? Putting weapons and artillery under schools? Holding hostage totally innocent people?

Why don’t they protest against that?

Why on earth aren’t they supporting a peace deal?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/10/2025 12:25

noblegiraffe · 05/10/2025 11:48

Because wittering on about bots means you don't have to engage with real concerns?

It's the same technique as "prove it" and/or "I've not seen that", noblegiraffe, and couldn't be more obvious ... as seen with the minimal engagement when people have (inconveniently) produced just that and the constant use of "poor old pensioner" images instead of the violence

All of which is why Matthew Syed's piece was insightful but hardly a surprise; you can't expect some to enjoy the actual reality being brought to light, and so it's proving

Most people I know feel the same say about the flag shaggers.

They're just two different types of flag shaggers.

"Israeli propaganda"

"I've not seen that"

"I'm going to ignore the news about thuggish pro-Palestinian protestors assaulting police officers to focus on the elderly one arrested for supporting a proscribed terrorist organisation"

"We'll only find out why that police officer was in hospital when it goes to court"

"They didn't call for the beheading of Jews"

Edited to add "Netanyahu says from the river to the sea" as if that makes it ok to call for the annihilation of Israel on the streets of Leeds.

IAmAHomewardBounder · 05/10/2025 12:34

It doesn't matter if you personally are marching for peaceful reasons, there's enough evidence to show that a significant minority of people on the protests are anti-Semitic. You are choosing to march alongside racists. Think about the company you're keeping; don't be upset if people think you're anti-Semitic as well.

They had the perfect opportunity to show support for the Jewish community by stopping the stupid arrests protest and they didn't.

So that's a message in itself.

I agree it’s anti-Semitic and the chanters should be arrested but Google says it’s not calling for ‘beheading of Jews in the streets of the UK’, it’s calling for the ‘army of Mohammed’ to fight against Israel. Israel has an army.

However, we are not in Israel or Palestine, and they may be calling for each other to die over there but it’s anti-Semitic and dangerous to have those views here.

KTheGrey · 05/10/2025 12:39

MrsSkylerWhite · 05/10/2025 12:01

“Chicken”?
Grow up.
The swift action of the police in Heaton Park on Friday probably prevented many more deaths.
You should apologise.

I stand by what I said. The police do not arrest scary protesters and it’s a problem.

Comparing the action at Heaton Park - commendable - and their actions about two years of frankly intimidating protests - pointless - is comparing apples and pears. Do you think it was reasonable for them to take no action against those cars flying Palestinian flags round London and calling to kill Jews a couple of years ago as well? What about the fact that rape is currently effectively decriminalised and they don’t even turn out for street theft and shoplifting? Something is up with policing and not in a good way.

It’s a whole system, not just the frontline but chicken is the word for it.
