Bonkers African Tribe in Scottish Woodland Claiming Ancestral Rights

I mean at best this story is utterly bonkers. A pair of chancers with a string of scams behind them and a now dropped child cruelty charge, set up home in private Shottish woodland claiming the land was stolen from their ancestors 400 years ago. There's not a shred of evidence to substantiate this claim.

The so called Kingdom of Kubala. One from Ghana, one from Zimbabwe and one from Texas, I mean that's a pretty wide Ancestral gene base for them all to have been descended from, but hey ho.

Headed by career scammer Kofi Offeh and his dodgy as fuck partner Jean Gasho, aka King Atehehe and Queen Nandi, earlier this year they paid for a one way ticket to fly a vulnerable 21 year old Texan girl named Kaura Taylor to the UK who became their so called handmaiden 'Asnat'. Her family claim they started grooming the aspiring lawyer online when she was 19. This is blatant coersion and control being played out on the national news.

After being evicted from private land they set up another camp just over the fence on council land making a mockery of the authorities and seem untouchable. They have now been evicted for a second time. There is a whole history of the two main characters being involved in scams of one kind or another, in one of which they claim to be millionaires and in May this year they flew over their equally delusional 'Handmaiden' from Texas to keep their tent clean for them. Millionaires who live in the bushes and will only speak to reporters in exchange for offerings or Irn Bru and Tunnocks Tea Cakes it seems.

The poor girl seems utterly brainwashed. Her mother is now pleading with the authorities to deport her daughter back to America. How exactly has this farce been allowed to continue in a Scottish Woodland for so long? Surely there's an immigration issue at the very least with the young girl this bonkers King and Queen paid to fly over to the UK? I mean can anyone just fly over from Texas and stay here indefinitely?

This whole tale is absolute madness. I mean what the actual fuck? Am I being unreasonable or should this whole shit show have been stamped on months ago & the 21 year old been put on a flight straight back home to keep her away from this pair of freaks? My greatest worry with her is these scammers will bring her straight back here to continue coercing and controlling her as soon as she is returned home.

Madness.

Some of the comments on her Facebook are comedy gold. People saying she’s the mastermind of all this and she called immigration herself to get revenge on him knobbing the servant girl so she could get them both deported and take over the kingdom herself .

as mentioned by a pp, google Aliya Johnson from Oklahoma . There’s some pretty disturbing TikTok stuff which seems to implicate them in also using her as a slave/handmaiden before her untimely death.

I bet you would if it was in your back garden or just outside your house.

Or her 21 year old own daughter.

ClutchingPearlz · 03/10/2025 09:24

this is Aliya Johnson aka Lady Safi who died after she was cursed by a tribe in a Scottish woodland.

She died in a road traffic accident. Her family said she was troubled and had mental health issues. You can't seriously be implying that her death had anything to do with this "curse".

GinaDav · 03/10/2025 10:39

Scary they had a previous vulnerable person with mental health problems as a servant before 😱

ridl14 · 03/10/2025 11:04

My West African family has been laughing their heads off at this story on the news. Apparently the main guy was draped in a blanket from Dunelm while being interviewed 😂

Sorry to hear about the young girl being vulnerable though, that is really sad.

It is one thing to call a story " bonkers" .
It's totally another to call people " "bonkers".
And to call a tribe of people defined by their nationality " bonkers" smacks of racism.

They aren't a real African tribe

This is the exact same as sovereign citizen nonsense just with a made up narrative about African tribes rather than a made up narrative about the Magna carta. People of all colours can be bonkers. Lots of white British people are "sovereign citizens". They are also bonkers. The internet allows people to fall down rabbit holes and enables crazy people to meet other bonkers people. Its not against the law to be bonkers (or eccentric if you prefer) but they seem to be turning themselves into a cult and having broken the law it's good the police are taking the opportunity to crack down before the situation escalates. (Plus the effect on the property owners etc. there's a difference between wild camping and squatting)

And I assume they are all claiming benefits ?

I doubt it. I think they consider themselves outside of the law anyway. I doubt most of them qualify for benefits.

Lol at the sacred dunelm blanket.
Maybe they picked up some beads from Claire’s accessories at the same time?

TheignT · 03/10/2025 13:03

How did the aspiring lawyer turn into a vulnerable young girl? Maybe she decided she didn't want to be a lawyer and is having some sort of adventure.

I guess be having mental health problems

I think it matters if a vulnerable young woman is being coercively controlled and potentially exploited.

We don't yet know the full story but I am inclined to believe the young woman's mother.

Me too. The government should report her if she's here illegally with no paperwork. Let her mother try to help her.

GinaDav · 03/10/2025 20:43

I still wonder how they haven’t had more attention from the authorities long before this latest scam

newusernamex1000 · 03/10/2025 21:15

They’re not on benefits. They go tiktok live and people send them gifts. They’re earning a decent amount.
They charge their phones and battery packs at the local cafe and co-op.

What they’re doing isn’t funny, they have harassed numerous people. I have seen videos of them standing in peoples driveways screaming that they hope they burn to death. Mental health or not, these people have overstayed their visas and they must be returned home.

Exactly this. Plus as I have said taking advantage of so many vulnerable people who have given what they cannot afford to help these people.

the demands make me want to cry.

The comments re racism make me want to scream. Anyone who went there without a gift was racist. Had this been any group of vulnerable people, the community would have helped, as they did.

yet, the money they, or she has made, is disgraceful. And the costs on a broken community budget will echo on.

as a PP said about her west African family laughing at them, these people are a disgrace to all of society.

Supporters should pause for a moment and add up how much they have taken from various communities.

the damage they have caused.

even at a basic level, would you want to walk where three people have been toileting for months.

the general consensus seems to be that it has all been a scam, and that the “queen” is the one laughing now.

It’s a shame they were arrested just before storm Amy hit. Mind that would be another rescue for locals to do.

GinaDav · 04/10/2025 08:41

The papers say the sovereign queen boasted on social media about how she spent the night stuffing her face with Nando’s and Hagen daz in a Trevelodge after being driven to England by a pal while her king and handmaiden remain detained by immigration ,, this really is complete madness. And the best part is when you Google Kubala nothing actually comes up except their Scottish woodland shenanigans 😵‍💫
