Bonkers African Tribe in Scottish Woodland Claiming Ancestral Rights

I mean at best this story is utterly bonkers. A pair of chancers with a string of scams behind them and a now dropped child cruelty charge, set up home in private Shottish woodland claiming the land was stolen from their ancestors 400 years ago. There's not a shred of evidence to substantiate this claim.

The so called Kingdom of Kubala. One from Ghana, one from Zimbabwe and one from Texas, I mean that's a pretty wide Ancestral gene base for them all to have been descended from, but hey ho.

Headed by career scammer Kofi Offeh and his dodgy as fuck partner Jean Gasho, aka King Atehehe and Queen Nandi, earlier this year they paid for a one way ticket to fly a vulnerable 21 year old Texan girl named Kaura Taylor to the UK who became their so called handmaiden 'Asnat'. Her family claim they started grooming the aspiring lawyer online when she was 19. This is blatant coersion and control being played out on the national news.

After being evicted from private land they set up another camp just over the fence on council land making a mockery of the authorities and seem untouchable. They have now been evicted for a second time. There is a whole history of the two main characters being involved in scams of one kind or another, in one of which they claim to be millionaires and in May this year they flew over their equally delusional 'Handmaiden' from Texas to keep their tent clean for them. Millionaires who live in the bushes and will only speak to reporters in exchange for offerings or Irn Bru and Tunnocks Tea Cakes it seems.

The poor girl seems utterly brainwashed. Her mother is now pleading with the authorities to deport her daughter back to America. How exactly has this farce been allowed to continue in a Scottish Woodland for so long? Surely there's an immigration issue at the very least with the young girl this bonkers King and Queen paid to fly over to the UK? I mean can anyone just fly over from Texas and stay here indefinitely?

This whole tale is absolute madness. I mean what the actual fuck? Am I being unreasonable or should this whole shit show have been stamped on months ago & the 21 year old been put on a flight straight back home to keep her away from this pair of freaks? My greatest worry with her is these scammers will bring her straight back here to continue coercing and controlling her as soon as she is returned home.

Madness.

Perhaps dangerous and anti social are more accurate.

And the woman is irrelevant, she shouldnt be there, none of them should be there, none of them are 'relevant' and are causing problems to the locality, the authorities and society.

So yes they need dismissing, both by outlook and physically.

Jamesblonde2 · 02/10/2025 10:41

Bonkers is a brilliant word. Sums up so easily. Use it often with colleagues and friends. They do too. I’ll make more use of it. Crackers too, but it doesn’t have the same ring to it.

soupyspoon · 02/10/2025 10:36

Theres a man in the mix isnt there, He is also bonkers. Im not denigrating myself, I dont take myself that seriously.

Bonkers is a perfectly acceptable description, its not a medical term, its a laymans colloquial descriptor for people being irrational and unhinged. People who make no sense. People who are bizarre and weird. Bonkers.

Im not at work, Im on a chat forum.

Mental health might not be a serious issue for you but for countless people it means they live a hell on earth. And leads many to suicide. But they are just " bonkers" to you are they?

The state of the NHS mental health provision, or lack of it , is a scandal. But hey, what does it matter if people can't access help. They are just " bonkers" after all. They don't matter.

RandomGeocache · 02/10/2025 10:47

Don't you need to have more than three people to make a tribe? Also, given the current focus on citizenship and immigration, the American is only allowed to be here 6 months on a tourist visa so is potentially overstaying. Unclear of nationality/status of the others.

If they weren't causing issues then they would have been left alone to get on with it. Locals have clearly complained or raised issues, and it's now costing the local council tax payers money to get rid of them again, and again.

kelsaecobbles · 02/10/2025 10:48

Oh storm Amy might hit them soon

ClutchingPearlz · 02/10/2025 10:53

Well let’s be honest a Scottish winter will soon sort this farce out. They’ll get fed up living in a tent a minus 12.

Seriously?
You really think words don't matter?
How do you think people are controlled by politicians? How do you think people's views points arent manipulated by the media? Why is advertising a multi million pound industry?
It's done by WORDS. By the language used.

And you are right I can't speak for you. But it's very sad if you denigrate yourself by describing your mental health issues as just you being " bonkers".

Edited

I use Mental too . .

Yes we do matter, but we're still bonkers

Im not quite bonkers today though, not too bad today

Bringitonicancope · 02/10/2025 10:03

It is one thing to call a story " bonkers" .
It's totally another to call people " "bonkers".
And to call a tribe of people defined by their nationality " bonkers" smacks of racism.

They’re not a tribe. That’s what the OP meant. “Bonkers African tribe” because they’re not an African tribe, they’re scammers trying to claim tribal rights to get away with a scam. That’s why it’s bonkers.

If this were an actual tribe who had been harmed in some way and were trying to reclaim something, the OP wouldn’t have called them a bonkers tribe. They’re not a tribe! That’s the point of the title.

NorthernMam20 · 02/10/2025 11:00

They’ve been causing bother in Stockton on Tees before they moved away to Scotland. They had a flat in the town centre and had posters in the windows saying things like “death to children” or something like that. His “wife” was pregnant and there was no sign of the baby and suspected they put the baby in the river tees but no proof. There was a lot of outrage about them. I think they’re all very mentally ill. The lady who he says is his wife was a nurse and a normal person before she started worshipping him.

kelsaecobbles · 02/10/2025 11:01

Are they mentally ill or exploiting that as a concept to get something ? Or is one doing the exploitation ?

Sjkeb · 02/10/2025 11:02

LoveWine123 · 02/10/2025 09:55

Why do you care? You've written a whole literary work on the topic.

Why shouldn't OP care? It's an utterly crackers story and worthy of discussion. If you are not interested, why not just skip the thread.
Personally I find the whole story fascinating and I'm interested in others thoughts on it.

It’s like something out of a Carry On film!

Yeah true, I was wondering if they'd attempted a Scottish winter yet!

Stillreadingalot · 02/10/2025 11:06

I'm all for live and let live but they were on private land and it cost the owners several thousand pounds to have them evicted. Not to mention the cost to the taxpayer of the police operation this morning to evict them from council owned property. I'm sure most people would prefer the police to be dealing with burglaries/ assaults etc than this crowd.

The couple are a risk to children and have fought involving knives: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/15400314/king-queen-kubala-tribe-scots-woods-serious-risk-children/
and the mother of the american woman, has talked a lot about how she was groomed online by them at 19.
It very much sounds like the pair are grifting abusers, trying to run some kind of cult and the american woman is vunerable and has been caught up in it.

Before i opened the story I wondered “is the woman in her 40s?” because as perimenopause crashed down upon me, effing off to live in the woods and tell everyone I am a queen sounds like a master plan!

watch this space!

Well if you really think you matter why do you describe yourself in such a pejorative way that invites people to dismiss you as a freak?

As someone who lived in Glasgow for a long time and " mental" being part of the Glasgow patter I actually quite like "mental". Billy Connelly and his " pure dead mental" springs to mind
But I wouldn't use it about someone who had mental health issues.

Because its not a pejorative. Those of us who have been clients of and working within MH services dont see it that way. At the end of the day it is bonkers. Theres no rationalising the behaviour of people at times.

Maybe it’s time to stop making such ridiculous reaches in order to find anything you possibly can to be offended by.

Do you actually have an opinion you’d like to share on the so called tribe or are you just here to nit pick at other posters.
