Bonkers African Tribe in Scottish Woodland Claiming Ancestral Rights

I mean at best this story is utterly bonkers. A pair of chancers with a string of scams behind them and a now dropped child cruelty charge, set up home in private Shottish woodland claiming the land was stolen from their ancestors 400 years ago. There's not a shred of evidence to substantiate this claim.

The so called Kingdom of Kubala. One from Ghana, one from Zimbabwe and one from Texas, I mean that's a pretty wide Ancestral gene base for them all to have been descended from, but hey ho.

Headed by career scammer Kofi Offeh and his dodgy as fuck partner Jean Gasho, aka King Atehehe and Queen Nandi, earlier this year they paid for a one way ticket to fly a vulnerable 21 year old Texan girl named Kaura Taylor to the UK who became their so called handmaiden 'Asnat'. Her family claim they started grooming the aspiring lawyer online when she was 19. This is blatant coersion and control being played out on the national news.

After being evicted from private land they set up another camp just over the fence on council land making a mockery of the authorities and seem untouchable. They have now been evicted for a second time. There is a whole history of the two main characters being involved in scams of one kind or another, in one of which they claim to be millionaires and in May this year they flew over their equally delusional 'Handmaiden' from Texas to keep their tent clean for them. Millionaires who live in the bushes and will only speak to reporters in exchange for offerings or Irn Bru and Tunnocks Tea Cakes it seems.

The poor girl seems utterly brainwashed. Her mother is now pleading with the authorities to deport her daughter back to America. How exactly has this farce been allowed to continue in a Scottish Woodland for so long? Surely there's an immigration issue at the very least with the young girl this bonkers King and Queen paid to fly over to the UK? I mean can anyone just fly over from Texas and stay here indefinitely?

This whole tale is absolute madness. I mean what the actual fuck? Am I being unreasonable or should this whole shit show have been stamped on months ago & the 21 year old been put on a flight straight back home to keep her away from this pair of freaks? My greatest worry with her is these scammers will bring her straight back here to continue coercing and controlling her as soon as she is returned home.

I’m not actually sure what offences they will face if any but I’m now wondering if they may be up on a modern slavery charge given they’ve brought someone into the country as an unpaid servant under coercion.

The problem is that their handmaiden claims she is there of her own free will. Unless her family can provide enough evidence to get her sectioned, which is rightly very hard to do, she is an adult and free to live and consort with whoever she chooses.

Anyone saying these guys are not doing harm - they are trashing the land they are on (I mean, do you think they have a sanitation system and rubbish collection?) and they have been very aggressive to the locals. As PP have pointed out, it has already cost private landowners thousands to evict them and God knows how much it is costing the council. It's struggling for cash, like most councils and the local police force is already under staffed and overstretched.

They've refused all offers of help. After they were released from jail they were given a property down south but preferred to live in the woods.

Bonkers is a word from the 40s and started in the navy or army and was sued to describe someone slightly drunk or acting silly. It was never a derogatory word use seriously against people with mental health issues. It’s always been a tongue in cheek word. You can’t just subscribe new meaning to a word that’s been used lightheartedly for 80 years.

Lots of stuff about her children being stolen from her, complete with pictures of the children. She appears to have had lengthy dealings with the police and social services in England, and has perhaps moved to Scotland to try to get into a different system.

Not dissing the people of Jedburgh - but it's a very small place with not much going on. This tribe are local celebs with loads of followers on line and comments on their social media posts. Some people want a bit of that.

They were using the local library to charge devices and one local person also helped out with power banks. For food, they buy it in the local Co-op and all media outlets have to give them offerings of food before they agree to be interviewed. They ended up like a Victorian era freak show with people wanting to visit/film them and they wouldn't engage unless you bought them food - proper meals though like a chippy or leg of lamb with all the veg etc.

The tent was given to them by the local authority after their original one was burned to the ground. Despite being illegally camped obviously the council didn't want them sleeping under the stars freezing to death.

Where are they getting money from?
