Not feeling sorry for her at all . She deserves it ( and all the others who made bucks on the backs of the rest of us ) .
I thought it was only the King and Richard Branson who had that sort of money …..I am very naive!

Will they not just declare bankruptcy and never pay it? The debt is the company’s not the Morne’s personally.

If they try do that, Michelle Mone should be immediately stripped of her peerage.

I definitely agree with that

She should be stripped of her peerage regardless

PauliesWalnuts · 01/10/2025 18:31

Didn’t they move millions out of the company and into trusts for their adult kids? Apparently the most recent accounts show cash of less than a million. Thieving gets.

Coolasfeck · 01/10/2025 18:41

This warrants jail time for fraud not just a fine.

She used her contacts inc Michael Gove to get the contract then shopped online at Temu to buy a bunch of shit to sell back to the government with a 10000% markup. Took the money and wound down the company.

It’s theft and corruption and she’s responsible for making laws for little people including reducing vital services which could have been funded by the money she stole from the tax payer.

She can sew badly made Ultimo underwear tat in Holloway jail.

Ihateboris · 01/10/2025 18:48

They filed for bankruptcy yesterday. Disgusting

TabithaZ · 01/10/2025 18:50

I agree as @Coolasfeck - if they sold stuff with a CE mark that’s fraud. A fraud that risked lives.

I can’t see with Proceeds Of Crime Act doesn’t apply - surely the assets in private trusts should not be beyond reach?

Lonelycrab · 01/10/2025 18:51

They should face prosecution, both of them.

They’ll probably just swan it round the Caribbean on their tax payer funded yacht for years, until a more…sympathetic U.K. government comes into power.

Toooldtopretend · 01/10/2025 18:52

The company has gone into administration

No, the conpany went into administration. They have not filed for bankruptcy (which is a personal process as opposed to corporate).

Sorry, that's what I meant. I'm just so bloody angry. Rich people are never held to account. Twas ever thus

ComfortFoodCafe · 01/10/2025 18:56

If its gone into administration then they should be jailed for fraud. Simple.

The I was just a poor lassie from the east end of glasgae that made it with hard work blah blah blah.
She's nothing short of a thieving cunt along with her husband.
Money in trust to her adult children, purchase of a luxury yacht.
Thief fuckers should be facing time.

The programme about her (BBC?) is definitely an interesting watch!

Not sure I could stomach that. It'll be full of 'poor me'. Fuckers

EpsomSalted · 02/10/2025 07:01

There is still an ongoing criminal investigation so she might eventually do time.

unless she is convicted in a criminal court they cannot strip her of her peerage and her right to amend laws etc without passing a whole Act of Parliament just about her which would be unprecedented and won’t happen.

From what I recall it starts all about her start in business but it seems like change throughout the programme as if this stuff came to light whilst they were making it and the tone totally changes as it gets to the Covid period. I thought it was interesting, worth a watch.

Superhansrantowindsor · 02/10/2025 07:16

The politicians who facilitated this should be up in court with them. But none of them will ever get that far.

It's disgusting that it was Bonanza time for the few whilst the populace of the UK suffered somewhat for a myriad of reasons.
But hey wasn't the tag line
We're all in it together..aye right.

I enjoyed the BBC programme about her, it was quite enlightening.

Pabbel · 02/10/2025 07:33

Can they not be charged with corporate manslaughter ?
They knowingly sold un sterile equipment in a pandemic, this could and probably did contribute to deaths and spread of infections in the staff wearing them.

Yep...

The whole VIP/best mates fast track scheme allowed a lot of people to very/increasingly rich at the taxpayers expense.

MM is the tip of the iceberg but seems to be getting almost all the media attention.

Caroparo52 · 01/10/2025 15:37

Agree. She's blatantly lied through her teeth for a long period of time.

EpsomSalted · 02/10/2025 07:51

It is unlikely to happen. The only way to remove a peerage is an Act of Parliament. These are expensive and take time to pass through parliament meaning there is less time for other legislation to be passed. They are also expensive. MPs or Peers could use the opportunity to make amendments trying to deprive others of peerages which opens the door for political mischief making.
