To think the vinted sizing system is shit?

I’m finally going through and listing the black bag of
clothes that don’t fit me anymore after a substantial weight loss.

But the issue is a lot of them are listed as an L or XL on the label, but they’re not a size 12 or 14! So I have to list them in the incorrect size, because otherwise sellers can dispute it if it’s wrong. I’m making it clear in the description it’s a letter size, not a number, but it’s a right pain!

Yes, it’s really annoying, I’ve been caught out a few times.

I now only buy things if I can see the actual size label.

It’s also equally irritating for kids. The sizes are 4, 5, 6, 7 but the reality is that most (not all) kids’ clothes are sized as 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7 and so on. So if you’re searching for 6-7, you need to select 6 and 7 and then rifle through a load of stuff that isn’t the right size.

I put the measurements in ie 38 bust 40 hip and length . I usually put it in the title on Ebay . Every brand is different so when buying I ask for the measurements too .

I don't use Vinted but I sell on eBay, I can choose from either number or letter sizes, as well as other details. I've not used Vinted, I've not heard great things about them, but I don't generally have any problems buying and selling with eBay.

I've gone on to Vinted this morning and noticed the sizing has changed. Has anyone else noticed this? You cant search by individual sizes, it's 8-10, 12-14 etc.

Yeah, this is a HUGE issue. It just started today. All my existing listings are now under the wrong size.

As a buyer - I am mostly interested in size 10, so 50% of what I look at when using a search will be size 8 and not size 10. It makes Vinted searches just miserably difficult and irritating.

Only Vinted could correct their sizing error by making a worse error!

Apparently I have gone from XL to Medium overnight! I don't know whether this will be any better though, as my 'Recommended' page is full of things that are actually a 14 but that Vinted is now labelling as 'XL / UK size 20-22.'

The misery of a Vinted search, I can’t even describe how tedious it is.

I want size 16 but now get size 18, 16 and 12! I have to look up each individual item so see if it is old or new sizing. Or in 16-18, what exact size.

Gone is the random scrolling as now I have to check each item. Lots of lost sales. 😂
But terrible customer service and pointless added buyer protection.
And bizarre overpriced postal for small items like jewellery have put me off.

I know several people have commented this already but oh my the new sizing is giving me such headache! S/M/L etc was indeed bad enough but at least it equated to a specific clothing size. I’m a 10-12 depending on style and brand - size 8 is most definitely too small and 14 too big … but if I’m looking for things I’m now having to look through millions of items that are the wrong size. Hopefully sellers all start to include the actual size in the item title.

Yup, this new change is utter bollocks. I have gone holiday mode for the foreseeable. I just can't be arsed with it. What fools they are.

Yes it’s a pain. I list the correct size as to label but then in comments I say whether it’s more of a 14, 16 or whatever.

I also add lots of photos and measure lengths if the item is quite pricy.

Tried to search for a few things this evening and it's so much harder to do. Searching by size (ie 8,10,12 etc) doesn't bring up the correct options and when I select the new sizing option (M, L etc) then it's bringing up 3 different sizes. It's so frustrating!!

Yep. I buy on Vinted a lot, but gave up today, as it is so confusing. What the hell were they thinking?!?!

I have a few items to upload and am looking for a few but starting to wonder if it's worth the effort, might just send to the charity shop, such a lot of hassle imo now.
