Why does this scare me?

I've just had five grey plastic packages, flat like envelopes, delivered. All similar size - about seven inches square. They all contain a couple of pages torn from catalogues, books, magazines - like someone's waste paper.

whats going on?

Weird. Is it a code message? What’s the first word on each page? Any sign of a postmark, sender etc or hand delivered?

Post a photo if you want?

Are there any children playing post offices in a nearby garden? It's the sort of thing we do in nursery/Reception so maybe they didn't realise that neighbours wouldn't be as thrilled with their mail as their teacher is?

It's random torn pages from random sources.

Nothing on the labels to say where it's from.

I haven't ordered anything/not expecting any deliveries.

Just told my daughter and she said don't touch it. When asked why she said anthrax. 😬

It was delivered by our usual Evri delivery lady - she posted through letterbox (it's on ring doorbell).

Surely this would have cost something to send five separate items?

Okay that does seem rather weird that it was specifically addressed to you, and possibly sinister. Can you get any sender information from Evri? What exactly are the contents? Anything highlighted or underlined? I don’t know if I’d be reporting it to the police just yet, but definitely don’t throw anything away just in case you need to later.

If your husband thinks it’s hilarious, is it possible that he’s done it as a joke?

H is a nip screw and certainly wouldn't spend money sending me not one but five plastic envelopes with torn waste paper in.

H is now asking if I've upset someone?

I'm wondering who it is I could've upset? And who would bother sending rubbish through the post? I have no idea?

It's unsettling .... I feel sick.

I suppose I'll just have to wait to see if anything else comes/any escalation.

Seriously though, did it actually have your name and address on it specifically? You haven't answered this.

Is it a brushing scam? I have heard about this in respect of Amazon deliveries but not about paper. A quick google suggests that Reddit might be the place to ask as they have a scams group.

Why would you jump to something sinister? Probably a mistake. This wouldn't be register on my weird scale.

Do the magazine pages have any particular link to each bundle? Ie same subject,interest etc ?
