Sick of the lie 'It's just illegal immigrants people don't like.'

Slightyamusedandsilly · 26/09/2025 22:08

This is just not true.

Reform, the flag flyers and protesters are racists. All of this 'It's just the illegals we want gone.' is a lie to excuse their racism.

@Londonisthebestcityintheworld ’But we don't want to talk about our British problems. And we definitely don't want to talk about organised crime and the British people getting rich from it.’

We can, but this thread is, or at least is titled, about immigration and immigrants.
Illegal immigrants should be detained in camps, not in hotels.
The hotels only entice more people.
Why the government has not invested in camps I don’t know, but I’m guessing having 300,000 illegal immigrants detained highlights their incompetence at governing.

I thought this was about illegal immigrants? And that does require a discussion about gangs?

And it does beg the question of why we have so much to say when illegals commit crimes but have nothing to say when Brits do the same.

It's virtue signalling to justify racist rhetoric. It's not about protecting British women from victims of crime which is what it pretends.

I've also explained that hotels are the best way to keep them separate from gangs until they can be processed. That is a powerful lever in stopping the gangs which bring the people here

I'm British Indian. DH and I moved over in the late 1990s. I can see the damage mass immigration done legally has done. Some parts of London feel like a mini India/Pakistan. You need cultural integration and the ability to speak English

Londonisthebestcityintheworld · 26/10/2025 12:21

JamieCannister · 26/10/2025 09:13

Yawn.

Lots of people are behaving and speaking as though they think it is inherently racist to have concerns about immigration. Which makes me conclude that either they think it is inherently racist to have concerns about immigration, or are very poor thinkers or expressers of their beliefs, or both.

When you say "express their concerns in obviously racist ways" you mean "express their concerns" and people are sick of it.

Look at the polls. Look at what people believe and work out a way of moving forward with the minimum of racism and violence. I promise you the answer is not telling people they are racists.

I have marched against racism and never so much as voted Tory let alone far right... and people like you are starting to make me think that being caled a racist is a badge of honour if the only other option is being in favour of open borders and continued islamification / overcrowding / division / hate..

I didn't see anyone say that?

I welcome discussion about immigration.

I personally believe it's a distraction from the bigger issues we have with our own British citizens. Not enough British people work. They've had every benefit this country has had to offer for generations - and still blame immigrants for their lack of prosperity.

if you think eliminating immigration will eliminate our social problems, brilliant. I wish I could live in your head.

Feels like Brexit 2.0

There can be discussion around the benefit system and asylum system. One is more relevant to this thread but both can be problematic and require change.

Londonisthebestcityintheworld · 26/10/2025 11:35

Yes. No statistics are perfect.

What is your point? Because no census will ever be 100% we should disregard them.

How does that belief fit with the stats you do believe in terms of others?

You have to laugh... This says white Brits are a problem. Of course not - those stats are incomplete!

But look at the numbers for others....that's for sure true.

Sigh

What is your point?

That's pretty obvious - your link states in bold;

"Universal Credit ethnicity statistics should be treated with caution due to a degree of non-completion"^

Ethnicity data for 25% of UC claimants is missing.

You have to laugh... This says white Brits are a problem...

To be fair, the bulletin in your link doesn't appear to give a statistic for "white Brits" - they seem to be lumped together with white EU nationals, white Ukrainian refugees and others in the "white ethnic group".

But that's the whole point of this thread?

Illegal immigration is being blamed for all of our problems when it's only a small part of the actual problems our country has.

Like many, no one wants to talk about that though! Just keep saying - if I want to talk about immigration I shouldn't feel like a racist.

By all means!

But it is.populist and detracting for how we can really improve life here.

But It is a problem, and unless it is resolved satisfactory then it will remain a key concern for the citizens of the UK, and we won’t be able to move onto the next in the list.

I think both of those things are issues, and very difficult ones to resolve. Benefits being too high and asylum system being chaotic and unsafe.

It's like building a new fence while your house is on fire. Feat of engineering that new fence and it does a jolly good job of keeping the riff raff out - but unfortunately your house is now a pile of ash.

People are so fixated on immigration they refuse to even discuss the much bigger issues.

There’s plenty of discussion on other things, including benefits. Not being able to bring order to entry will be increasingly destabilising, politically and socially. You can see it across the EU too. It’s not a good idea to dismiss it, as it will keep growing as an issue.

It's a very real problem when unchecked men are killing and secually assaulting women.

Reform will win. A party with abit of backbone.

There will be a massive campaign against Reform, that’s for sure.

it’s a problem relatively easy to solve. Don’t want immigrants? Cut the number of visas. Don’t want fake asylum seekers? Don’t let them claim in the UK, automatic deportation.

It just needs political will.

(by the way, if you actually WANT prosperity in your country, you will need those billionaires to start making things in the UK again. You cannot tax your way to prosperity)

I think taxes should be there but they should be moderate and not too excessive to punish hard work and success. We need to give people the tools to succeed on their own. I had the idea of tax deductions for investing and stimulating the economy.

I think police needs to be funded, as does education and stuff to help people become self sufficient.

Immigration- fine.

Illegal, uncontrolled immigration- not so much. As a nation we need to control who comes to live here. It’s hardly a controversial opinion.

Surely you can see that lots of people are saying along the lines of what I said, and that no-one is saying "all our problems are down to immigration"?

What do you propose doing to stop Reform winning the next general election? I think they will be a disaster and am looking for any and all ideas to stop Farage gaining power and selling off the NHS whilst failing to address immigration concerns.

Telling people that they are racist and immigration is not an issue is either doing no good or actively increasing support for Reform, so please don't suggest those things.

My heart breaks at little Britainers being disturbed by their communities being changed by an incoming culture.
Yep, cultures all over the planet feel felt much the same when Britain arrived.

What do you mean by “changed by an incoming culture’?

Can you be specific about which culture/cultures are you referring to?

I have no idea. I am paraphrasing the people who excuse racism by saying people are afraid of the quick changes in their communities due to immigration.

Pick a culture. It's usually a non white one that disturbs them.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 26/10/2025 15:37

It is for me, undocumented, no background checks, arriving on digny, illegal immigration is a problem for me.
I live in a very diverse community, who are also concerned with the level of immigrants arriving, it impacts all of the citizens.

English are racists. OK. I am Balkan. Since the minute I landed here to be around my daughters, I have been asked numerous times why did I came to this country....Does this bother me? - No. I have my belly full, my roof and bathroom, my life organised and well provided for ...( not benefits). Have my old ass
