Agreed.
Infrastructure, water availability, health services etc., all need to be ahead of the game, not constantly struggling to catch up.
Its madness to say that anyone or everyone can live here if they want to.
I am in favour of a tough immigration policy that includes having enough funds to support yourself and/or skills that are required.
I would also like to think that we are a caring nation and am also in favour of asylum for those in desperate circumstances.
But if you have no skills, no funds and aren't in desperate circumstances, you just fancy a nicer life than you currently have, then sorry, no.
I am annoyed by the small boats because they are coming from mainland Europe. I don't understand how a situation arises that people pitch up in the UK, have travelled through one or more Countries in mainland Europe. Why do they not claim asylum there if they have grounds for asylum.
I have absolutely no issue with the UK accepting our fair share of genuine asylum seekers who have claimed asylum elsewhere.
But I do not agree that anyone can arrive in the county - whether by boat, plane, train, swimming the channel etc , and assume it OK to just stay.
That does not make me racist.
