Husband vaginal thrush treatment?

Laurawhitty94 · 24/09/2025 13:58

Hi all, wondering if you can help me with this…
I haven’t spoken to him about this yet because I’d like to actually know what you guys would do because I am rather impulsive and I am a little dramatic as well.

This morning I went to my husbands car to grab some ibuprofen out of his glove box ,I knew he had some because he keeps it for the gym and things. However I found a used vaginal thrush pessary (the rubbish) in the glovebox.

I haven’t had thrush recently. He hasn’t mentioned having it and that’s exactly the type of thing he would mention to me ,he’s not shy or anything but also why would he use a vaginal thrush medicine anyway? It was the combo one , the cream and the pill kind.

I'm very confused and anxious. Could it be that he is seeing a woman or am I jumping the gun ? Why on earth would he have that in his car and am I wrong to have looked in the glove box without telling him I’m gonna go to his car ?

How do I bring this up exactly with him.
We also have the life 360 app for the kids and he has had his location off for weeks now and I just assumed he had location off in general but now I’m thinking maybe he could be seeing someone ?

I don’t know. Please let me know what you’d say and do. Am I being dramatic or could this be a clue that he’s cheating which I’m kinda feeling like it is right now.

sometimes those thrush treatments come in duo packs with a cream and a pessary. Is it possible he used the cream himself (like for irritation or fungal rash) and just chucked the pessary without thinking? Might be a silly explanation, but worth asking before assuming the worst.

mrsrednose · 25/09/2025 06:54

Besides who would use a pessary in the car and also have sex? Doesn’t make sense

I agree with others that maybe he wanted it for the cream. Not beyond the realm of fantasy to think a man might have wanted to see what the applicator was. I’ve known a few who would probably think it’s to put the pessary tablet down their throat to swallow it 🤦‍♀️.
I can’t imagine many women in long term relationships would insert a pessary in the passenger seat, let alone a woman doing that in front of her affair partner - and then putting it in the glove box instead of a bag/bin. Would be very surprised if he doesn’t casually say he was using the cream himself

This.

Some of you are just bonkers 😆

He’s going to have a job making use of a pessary 😂

Men are often very curious about vaginas and how stuff works. He probably had a play around with it.

Namechanged4today · 25/09/2025 07:11

Personally I’d switch his location back on, and take a good look at credit card and bank statements, in particular cash withdrawals. My ex’s affair partner left her knickers at the side of the bed for me. (Yes, I got rid of him Easter Grin).

Laurawhitty94 · 24/09/2025 14:35

The actual stick/applicator as well as the packaging. As if someone has inserted it in the passenger seat I guess ,I didn’t touch it though ,ew

Anyone who would insert a vaginal pessary this way is asking for a pelvic infection. I cannot think of any situation where it would be necessary to do this is a car.

Are you sure this is what it is?

What is the brand name on the packaging?

I don't think any prostitute is inserting her thrush pessary in a client's car!

Is he daft enough to not know what a pessary is, think it's like an applicator tube of cream? Open it up and realise and he's binned the pessary but not the applicator thing?

It's either that or an affair or a very odd fetish. Fetish is a possibility, some men like sticking all sorts up their bum!

I think "man buys slightly wrong product for his athletes foot" is more likely than "woman applies thrush medication in her boyfriends car and then leaves the used pessary in the glovebox". Especially when you add into the mix he might have been embarred and rushing when he bought it

People are suggesting it was deliberately left for OP to find, wouldn’t she leave a lacy thong or something rather than medical paraphernalia? You'd have to assume he would me more likely to find it there than the wife in his own glovebox

Agreed! You would definitely leave something more glamorous if that was your plan & definitely wouldn’t use that cream/pessary in the car. Crikey!

Vaginal thrush treatments and affairs don't like think things that would go hand in hand. I would barely have that level of openness with husband, so very much doubt it would come up if I was having an affair. Surely "hold on I need to take out my thrush pessary, before we can get it on in the car" would be an absolute mood killer.

The other woman could have left it there to stir up trouble?

I once went out with a guy who didn't know that women used toilet paper after a wee! He definitely wouldn't have know what a pessary was for.

Mrsknowitall · 25/09/2025 08:26

Personally I wouldn’t say anything yet, I would be checking car and gym bag for a burner phone then I’d be going through his phone (also turning location back on) if nothing comes of those and I’m still stumped then I’d be asking him about the pessary stick

jenny38 · 25/09/2025 08:29

You could ring a pharmacy and ask if there is any reason a man would be given this. Eg any condition.
Only thing I can think of is if he was putting it up his butt, and the possible reason being an affair with a man....

Augustus40 · 25/09/2025 08:32

Thrush is NOT an sti.

However he is either having an affair or seeing an escort of some kind. I am going by the fact his whereabouts is unknown weekends recently. He is clearly up to something.

Or he could be sleeping with a man as many husbands are secretly bicurious/bisexual. I am going by general knowledge here.

Augustus40 · 25/09/2025 08:34

If he was into bum sex it is very unlikely he would use use a thrush applicator. He would use a dildo by the escort/woman or the other man wd penetrate.

mrsrednose · 25/09/2025 08:41

Maybe he had an itchy bum and thought the pessary would sort it 🙈

Bipitybopitybo · 25/09/2025 08:52

I did know someone at uni who accidentally bought the pessary to use on athletes foot. He didn’t know what the word pessary meant 😂😂 he ended up offering it to any of the girls on our floor in halls

PegDope · 25/09/2025 08:57

Goodness me, reading and comprehension are a lost art it seems.

Most likely explanation is that he needed the cream, accidentally bought the combo. When he saw the blister pack he popped it thinking it was part of the treatment. Once he realised it wasn’t he chucked it away and kept the cream.

Occam’s razor and all that.

Find My often kicks one of my family off and they have to reshare location. They don’t realise they’re not sharing until someone is looking for them and tells them the location is off. These things happen.

We don't actually know what the cream is as OP hasn't told us the name of it !

We need a diagram of the "applicator" as well.

WhereAreMyAirpods · 25/09/2025 09:03

DH has in the past bough pessaries when he wanted cream for fungal skin conditions. Because he saw the brand "canesten", knew that's what he wanted and just grabbed the pack without thinking/reading. He thought the blister pack with the pessary was just another way to dispense the cream.

I wouldn't immediately leap to "affair" as inserting a pessary in the passenger seat of someone's car is weird.

3luckystars · 25/09/2025 09:09

Why would anyone need to apply it the car though!!! The whole thing is mad.
