Husband vaginal thrush treatment?

Laurawhitty94 · 24/09/2025 13:58

Hi all, wondering if you can help me with this…
I haven’t spoken to him about this yet because I’d like to actually know what you guys would do because I am rather impulsive and I am a little dramatic as well.

This morning I went to my husbands car to grab some ibuprofen out of his glove box ,I knew he had some because he keeps it for the gym and things. However I found a used vaginal thrush pessary (the rubbish) in the glovebox.

I haven’t had thrush recently. He hasn’t mentioned having it and that’s exactly the type of thing he would mention to me ,he’s not shy or anything but also why would he use a vaginal thrush medicine anyway? It was the combo one , the cream and the pill kind.

I'm very confused and anxious. Could it be that he is seeing a woman or am I jumping the gun ? Why on earth would he have that in his car and am I wrong to have looked in the glove box without telling him I’m gonna go to his car ?

How do I bring this up exactly with him.
We also have the life 360 app for the kids and he has had his location off for weeks now and I just assumed he had location off in general but now I’m thinking maybe he could be seeing someone ?

I don’t know. Please let me know what you’d say and do. Am I being dramatic or could this be a clue that he’s cheating which I’m kinda feeling like it is right now.

Can you buy thrush cream aimed at men? Is there a chance he had thrush, that was the only product they had in the shop, so he swallowed the pessary either because he doesn't know what it's for or because he thought it would help?

I just can't believe a woman would insert a pessary sitting in a married man's car?

rainbowunicorn22 · 24/09/2025 18:01

cream can be used for groin sweat rash could be linked to the gym use but what the hell would he use the pessary for? where would he put it!

Imbusytodaysorry · 24/09/2025 18:02

@Laurawhitty94 Sorry op he is cheating .
You are going to have to get your head straight and think of your next move .

Did you photograph it?
Have you also been having sex together ?

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 24/09/2025 14:18

I wouldn't assume the worst. It can be used to treat various fungal infections. Does he have athletes foot?

How do you put a vaginal pessary in your foot?
🤔

Laurawhitty94 · 24/09/2025 16:21

Yes the empty blister pack was there but no pill and the applicator was just right there with it ,yikes. Sort of realising that if this is an affair they’re obviously pretty close!

She could have used a public toilet . Came out and left the bag in the glove compartment and forgot about it .
They are close enough for sex, sharing a car and time together . Also know doubt shopping for thrush creams together.

How are you both ? @Laurawhitty94

Giddykiddy · 24/09/2025 18:16

I'm inclined to think he might have thrush and bought the wrong thing and tried to use it- it would be a v odd thing for an OW to leave. I saw some canesten in my DH's soap bag - he's super trustworthy and quite private and I just assumed he'd had a touch of thrush and treated it without wanting to discuss it

Tink3rbell30 · 24/09/2025 18:26

It's a simple and reasonable question as to why it's there. Don't tiptoe around the issue, ask outright.

mumuseli · 24/09/2025 18:27

Gosh this is an odd one! Hope you get to the bottom of it, OP!
Hopefully there is a reasonable explanation (do let us know, if you find out!). It is a bit worrying though in the light of him turning off his location recently.
Good luck with investigating x

Can't put a thrush pessary on your feet

RealEagle · 24/09/2025 18:42

Well there is only one hole he could have put the pessary in 🤷‍♀️Have you asked him about turning location off .

Megifer · 24/09/2025 18:43

Tell him you think you have thrush and can he get that cream and vaginal pessary from the car he must have thoughtfully bought to keep in for you.......

jomaIone · 24/09/2025 19:20

It wasnt this was it? This is external and internal cream but can buy in Tesco rather than asking in pharmacy. Would explain the stick?

Sorry image under review, it's a canestan internal and external cream duo box

clutching at straws here. Is anal thrush a thing?!

It would be a very strange thing for a mistress to insert something like this with his knowledge wouldn’t it?!….

I thought maybe he used the pessary up his bum too as it was itching.

Wackadaywideawake · 24/09/2025 20:13

Tell him you have thrush, which is very unusual for you, and watch his reaction.

I’m trying to mentally work through the circumstances. To be clear, this is 100% speculation!

I’m going with affair. She’s a married woman who confided in your husband about having thrush. They discussed what this could mean for their partners. Decided to buy the pessary and deal with it there and then so she didn’t have to risk taking it home. They meet in secluded car parking areas so it was no problem to do it secretly. He forgot to get rid of it, or shoved it in the glove compartment until he could dispose of safely… then forgot.

If my husband innocently had anal thrush I’m sure he’d be so freaked out he would mention it! I genuinely don’t think he’d know what it was or what to do about it. The athletes foot thing doesn’t wash.

I genuinely hope I am wrong! Good luck OP

SlimGin · 24/09/2025 20:24

I’m leaning towards whoever used the pessary did so in a location where they couldn’t leave the rubbish (eg work). So, for example, inserted it in a bathroom at work and then put the rubbish straight in the glovebox and forgot it was there. I find it hard to believe anyone would insert a pessary in a car. The lack of privacy!
I also think a woman would be able to deal with thrush at home without having the hide the rubbish as it’s quite a common infection, affair or not.

basherlass · 24/09/2025 20:28

I'm just trying to imagine if I was screwing someone else's husband, why I wouldn't just wait until I got home...

Wouldn't that be difficult to do sat in his car?

TheBucketWomen · 24/09/2025 20:36

Clearly an affair.
there's nothing more erotic than vaginal thrush cream!

If it was anal it would be a tablet in the mouth.

Pessary is to help get rid of it vaginally.

And me too

bakebeans · 24/09/2025 22:45

I’m a little confused OP but even more suspicious.
I have had to use a pessary when I was put on antibiotics for a nasty chest/throat infection. It gave me the most horrendous thrush in every orifice including vaginal. It was really bad in fact. It’s now noted on my medical records as an allergy.

I cannot imagine anyone putting a pessary in situ in a car unless

A. Person was at home and not in a car and didn’t want anyone to find but why would u not put in a bag and then at least put in a bin at the bottom. why would you go to the effort to put in the glove box.
B. If having sex in the car, would you have a pessary before or would you have this afterwards? I can’t see a pessary being inserted before. In which case you must know the person has thrush so wouldn’t you use a condom?
Why wouldn’t the other person wait till they were home to have the said pessary and therefore not need to leave in the car.
C. Husband is the user of the pessary and this could be a genuine medical reason such as an allergy like myself had above or even diabetes and maybe your husband could be worried and didn’t want to worry you.

Hope you get to the bottom of it OP

No they dont sell it like that

Last time I bought Canestan I said ‘Do you have anything to treat thrush?’ and the woman in the pharmacy just said ‘Yes, do you want just the cream or the combi pack?’ and that was literally the extent of the conversation. So it would be very easy for a man to buy the combi without really understanding what he was buying.

You can also buy it online with zero conversation at all. I’ve bought it off Amazon before.

Pessary is to help get rid of it vaginally.

He wouldn’t necessarily know that, though. You can buy it online without speaking to a pharmacist.
