Farage to now go after deporting legal migrants

MikeRafone · 23/09/2025 08:45

So now we have the latest from Farage

He wants to stop leave to remain and deport legal migrants, possibly splitting families - even his own Muhammad Ziauddin Yusuf has migrant parents.

If legal migrants are deported - it will end the NHS as migrants will not want to come and work and others working I NHS will be deported, universities will suffer as many students are from abroad

Surely those with migrant family will now see it would be foolish to vote for someone that would split their family?

He knows this will never happen, but the very mention of it will get his supporters frothing at the mouth.

Cunty old grifter.

LochKatrine · 23/09/2025 08:50

It's not going to happen, he's just stirring the pot.

StarlightRobot · 23/09/2025 08:57

I have enough hope in the electorate that they will not let this happen. I have family who would be forced to leave. Maybe a more extreme Reform party will make them unelectable? The alternative, ie Reform in power, is so worrying. It would rip my family apart 😔😔

mackers1 · 23/09/2025 08:58

Not actually what was said, is it?

IWasScaredToBeHeld · 23/09/2025 09:00

I’m genuinely curious how you think this will end the NHS when there are plenty of graduates who cannot get jobs as doctors, nurses and midwives?

TheClaaaw · 23/09/2025 09:01

There’s a thread about this here:

There are thousands of vaccines for nhs jobs. Graduates can’t get jobs as they need placements of which there are only a few - but actual jobs requiring experience- there are literally thousands. Due to underfunding the bits don’t all add up and although funding can be pumped back in, it’ll take time.

There are approximately 120,000 jobs vacant in NHS

There are 265,000 non British nationals working within NHS

Yeah, it's not as simple as British person available can fill vacancy, problem solved. We certainly do need to address the problem with new grads in clinical roles not being able to get their first job, but not by appointing them as consultants.

Aerom · 23/09/2025 15:26

He cannot make people who lived in this country for many years, legitimately to go back to their country of birth. They may not have anywhere to live.

Also his previous wives were foreign born too.

Chiseltip · 23/09/2025 15:30

Why have immigrants, illegal or otherwise, suddenly become the only football worth kicking about?

The amount of flags flying from lamps and roundabouts is just silly now. I drove past Hereford over the weekend and there was a junction there with EIGHT fucking flags!

And that's after losing count on the M4 bridges!

Thedogscollar · 23/09/2025 15:42

Stop listening to the man. He is an attention seeking pratt. He will never lead a government. I'd like to think at least half of the UK have enough working brain cells to see through this charlatan.

SerendipityJane · 23/09/2025 15:47

Brexit <cough>

Zoopet · 23/09/2025 15:52

Farage is pure click bait.
Fed up of reading about his ridiculous ideas.
He is full of insincerity and his o ly agenda is Farage.
Wish the media would stop ramping up his air time too.

Zoopet · 23/09/2025 15:53

*only

BeHappySloth · 23/09/2025 15:54

It's pretty worrying right now tbh. We don't know what the electorate will do at the next election. We just have to hope that they will see sense.

RobinEllacott · 23/09/2025 15:56

I wouldn't count on it not happening. I never thought, when we were deciding which surname to give DD 15 years ago, that she ought to have DH's because mine would attract frothing racist loons (for the record, and the racists on here, I was born here and don't have any other nationality: my father was an immigrant). But the way things are going I feel very grateful we picked DH's Anglo-Saxon surname rather than the albatross mine would have been round her neck. And if I feel threatened how much worse is it for people who aren't citizens?

BellaBallerina2 · 23/09/2025 16:08

I think he can get into government. Brexit happened, Trump got in. Reminds me of 1930s Germany and we shouldn’t minimise this.its frightening.

Espressosummer · 23/09/2025 16:15

Wasn't his suggestion to deport those with ILR who end up reliant on benefits rather than working? A lot of western countries already do this. If what he is saying is true (and I have no idea, haven't looked into it), the idea a person can come here and after 5 years get ILR and then be dependent on benefits is ridiculous. I know Australia kicks people out if their health changes as they don't want to support ill foreigners.

No. He said he wants to get rid of ILR, per se, and replace it with a requirement to reapply for leave every 5 years. The whole point of ILR is that you don't need to do that because it's permanent.

BellaBallerina2 · 23/09/2025 16:21

Don’t want to support ill foreigners. Are you listening to yourself?

UC is paid to 3.3 million people working

That is a lot of savings to be made.

randomchap · 23/09/2025 18:23

He is already planning on getting rid of the nhs. Got to pay for tax cuts for his billionaire backers somehow

He's going to fuck the country. He's no patriot. If reform get in then the damage he did with Brexit will seem small fry

He's nothing but a pawn for the disaster capitalists who fund him

He absolutely can. Just as the government can make British born nationals stateless, they can revoke the ILR they sold you.
