Just tough it out
I'll bet the orange buffoon hasn't toughed anything out in his life.

Makes me so angry.

It’s just to get all the misogynists salivating at the idea of keeping women in pain.

Yup, to those guys you're either the saintly matyr-mother who always puts her holy babies first no matter what, or a horrible wanton hag who gets herself knocked-up and selfishly wants to relieve herself of any unpleasant consequences.

I worry more about what the stress and high temperature of having a fever could do to a mother and an unborn baby, I know it can cause premature labour for starters.

Yes, it's really important that pregnant women know that having a high fever in pregnancy has a clearer, more established risk profile than any posed by Tylenol.

Can having a fever while pregnant hurt my baby?

There are potential risks and concerns related to having a fever during pregnancy. High fevers can potentially harm the developing baby.

@BeHappySloth
As was pointed out on another thread he was voted in by a majority of voters in America who thought he was the right choice. The Democrats must bear some of the blame.

I think you mean Republicans, pet. It was the Republicans who voted him in. Trump is head of the Republican party, who also have the responsibility for making him head of the party.

@YourBrickTiger one TiredCatLady reporting for the escape.

Felines against Fuckwits.

MrsFrumble · 24/09/2025 17:37

There’s a thread about it on my local Nextdoor, and a depressing number of people already claiming that they “knew” about the link ages ago and therefore didn’t take Tylenol during pregnancy because “better safe than sorry!”, including one lovely person who is sure her grandchildren are autistic because her daughter took it 🫠

I have a horrible feeling this shit is going to grow legs as big as the whole MMR thing.

GiveDogBone · 24/09/2025 18:00

Remember this is the guy who said take horse dewormer to cure covid. Your hope is that only his supporters are dumb enough to follow his advice, this removing themselves from the gene pool.

And I’m sorry, all the idiots saying that the pharmaceutical companies should sue him, are - rather obviously - not lawyers. Politicians can’t be sued for lying (indeed in any country, including the UK).

TreacleMoon · 24/09/2025 18:03

This vitriloic jumped up orange twat and his equally vile buddy Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. swore to "find a cause for Autism, by September"

So here we are!
My youngest is a Autistic (she's 22) I was a healthy 34 year old when I had her and I can categorically tell you I did not touch a single paracetamol throughout my pregnancy. My sister is Autistic and I believe my Mum was definitely on the spectrum. Genetics play a much bigger role in Autism than a few doses of bloody paracetamol!!

And, I have to mention that my daughter is absolutely wonderful, she's kind, compassionate and has more empathy in her little toe than the entire Trump administration..

Judecb · 24/09/2025 18:09

The man's an idiot, advised by even bigger idiots. Pay no attention.

Well,if that's what he claims I would like to know what meds his mother took during pregnancy that caused him to be a twat.🤔

I agree, but how was this man allowed to become the most powerful person on the planet?

How indeed? Same way Starmer runs us. People believing promises of men.

Why would Trump, who is more interested in money and saving it, suddenly come out with this? He hasn't been in power long enough, and the only mention he has made to autism, ADHD, ND is to say it is costing the government the earth in benefits?

Reeves says the same here.

When it comes to people applying for benefit for autism, ADHD, ND, will he turn round and say ''sorry, you cannot claim benefit if you took paracetamol during pregnancy which was not prescribed by a doctor''?

Imagine that. How many American doctors are now not going to prescribe paracetamol or any painkillers for mothers in pregnancy? That should save Medicaid money too.

With Trump, it is always only about money.

llizzie · 24/09/2025 18:33

BeHappySloth · 22/09/2025 22:16

Yes. He is saying that autism is caused by the use of paracetamol in pregnancy. He also seemed to be saying that people shouldn't give paracetamol to small children. And suggesting that vaccines may also play a part.

And he claims that there is no autism in the Amish community or in Cuba.

Will he come out against giving it to the elderly too? He could say it causes dementia too, another thing on the increase.

llizzie · 24/09/2025 18:35

BeHappySloth · 22/09/2025 22:43

Could well be.

All he needs is one big migraine which goes on for days and days and being refused pain medicine.

I have a friend in South Carolina who was telling me that there was no way her sister-in-laws would vote for Kamala Harris simply because she is a woman! So even though they might have voted Democrat normally (I don't think they particularly like Trump), they steadfastly refused to vote for her. Very strange thinking.

Yes, I think there are definitely people who were willing to vote for Biden, an old white man, but wouldn’t vote for a black woman. They didn’t necessarily vote for Trump instead, but not voting at all contributed to his victory. In the state where I live, 39% of people eligible to vote didn’t, which is more than voted for Trump or Harris.

CremeBruhlee · 22/09/2025 22:26

He is a nutter and this is batshit but it’s likely that it has come from valid studies that show an increase in ADHD in boys when paracetamol is used in pregnancy. Just google Lancet, I don’t know how to link. Now this has been proven and about for quite a long time (I didn’t take paracetamol in pregnancy due to it). That said the studies often do state that it’s likely that this use is also in conjunction with a genetic link and the development or severity of that.

Bottom line is he is an utter nutcase but the scary thing is he is taking something with scientific links to the truth and spinning it out of shape

I took paracetamol in pregnancy and my 13 year old DS is not autistic…

FusionChefGeoff · 22/09/2025 22:06

It’s obviously something that the man (let’s face it, probably is) at the top of the company that makes Tylenol has done to piss Donald off and this is his petty revenge

I hadn’t even thought of that but you’re probably right! Most of his batshittery seems to be based on his fragile ego and personal vendettas rather than politics.

He was always going to be worse second time round settling scores real or imagined most of which being the second.

Indeed - but if Trump is the answer, what in God's name is the question? I would never vote for a senile old reality tv star however hacked off I was with the alternative!

Speckly · 24/09/2025 21:29

The man is just ridiculous! I’ve investigated this in depth and there is absolutely no evidence but lots of evidence to the contrary. So it may sound mean but the one benefit of all Trump’s shit for me is that when Kenvue shares dropped massively the other night, I bought a few grands worth at a very low price because after this crap is over they’ll obviously make me a nice little profit and even more if the pharmaceuticals sue 🎉 I somehow feel like I’ve got one over on Trump! 🤣

I think the rise in ASD kids is due to ASD adults meeting up and having their own kids
Nothing wrong with that at all. Unless you think autistic adults should be prevented from meeting each other and having sex and then children.

Also, there is now a lot more understanding and recognition of autism and autistic traits. We have come a long way in ten or so years. Prior to that, unless you were at either end of the spectrum you were just classified as a bit weird rather than your brain working in a different way. Same with ADHD.

And as for recognising the differences of autism and ADHD in women, that’s even more recent.
