Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:22

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

This is really interesting, most practicing muslims believe that homosexuality is wrong and you’ll burn in hell for an eternity for it, much like some Christians. I assume we can declare muslims who believe this to be hateful facists and not feel sad if anyone murders them? I mean his views are not actually unusual for a religious person. At least he was happy to expose himself to dissent and actually went out and debated people, no his views don’t align with my own on many issues, especially abortion (I’m an atheist and the leading your wife stuff no thank you) but at least he had the balls to argue with people instead of just yelling and crying.

People have religious beliefs which should be fine in a tolerant society. Grown ups say “oh thats interesting, why do you think that? I don’t agree for xyz reason”. We are clearly living in times when your average adult has devolved into a giant screaming toddler who can’t tolerate anyone who disagrees with them.

Fuck me, perhaps it’s the end times.

mjf981 · 22/09/2025 05:25

How bizarre.

It's been a week and a half since this man intentionally shot and killed her husband leaving her a widow and her young children without their father. And she has already forgiven him? How? Why?!

This is not normal behaviour. I find it very odd 😳

Maxorias · 22/09/2025 02:28

I don't get it at all. If someone murdered a family member I'd want them to die with extreme prejudice. Just forgiving the murderer makes it look and feel like her husband's life didn't matter to her.

Saying you forgive someone doesn’t mean you’re saying what they did didn’t matter. Erika Kirk is a christian and they preach forgiveness. I’m pretty sure she despises the man who killed her husband. It’s easier to live with forgiveness than hate in your heart.

A lot of Christians DO live with hate in their heart.

This is kind of what I dislike about Christianity. It’s not good to forgive people who show zero remorse.

DrowningInSyrup · 22/09/2025 05:54

Of course she doesn't, she's been coached on what to say.

Well yes they do, but the Bible preaches forgiveness and Christian’s are expected to forgive. Whether or not many genuinely do forgive, or say they do, who knows. The Kirks were very religious so i’m not surprised that she has stated that she forgives him. Whatever we think of his politics or of her, that takes a lot of strength in the midst of such anguish.

I 100% wouldn’t forgive anyone who hurt or killed someone I loved. I’d want them to suffer as much as I was. I’d be giving a strong impact statement at a killer’s sentencing.

Shookethh · 22/09/2025 06:10

I’ve seen a lot of Christians on crime shows “forgive” the killer. But it’s not real. They act the same as someone who hasn’t forgiven and still want the death penalty.

People SAY all sorts of things. Doesn't mean what they say is a true and accurate mirror of what's in their hearts and thoughts.

Kirk himself said some shockingly awful things. Maybe he didn't really mean or believe those appalling words?

Who the flip knows?!

awkwardasfuck · 22/09/2025 06:12

Calmomiletea · 22/09/2025 00:05

How many videos of Charlie's did you ever watch? The only way someone could equate what Charlie said as hateful is if they simply didn't agree with what he said. Such people confuse telling the truth with hate, which is actually the opposite of what it is: telling the truth when people will hate you for it is actually love. That's what CK sacrificed himself for, so that people like you who would hate him could hear the truth.

Face the truth.

Sacrificed himself? Get a grip. He was a racist.

Calling his views "the truth" makes you a racist, homophobic, misogynistic bigot too.

lessee167 · 22/09/2025 06:14

To say publicly that she forgives is easy! To realise the real danger guns pose and work towards stopping gun violence is something else

DrowningInSyrup · 22/09/2025 05:54

This.
She is set up for life now, if the Trump theocracy continues.
The OP is obvs an astroturf seed, so there is little point engaging. Luckily in the U.K. we still have freedom of speech (just) and there’s many bright and brilliant folk fighting for it, plus a (mostly) democratic system.
Fuck Trump.

Shellyash · 22/09/2025 06:25

Credit to her, poor lady.

he wasn't preaching hate contrary to what many think. I've listened to a few of his speeches and he was stating his viewpoint, this is what upsets people.
Mostly people that preach Christianity get persecuted because it's aimed at conscience and that hurts. Think martyrs. RIP Charlie.

strangerandstranger · 22/09/2025 00:04

People were saying that his movement was hateful, they were all hateful. She has shown she wasn't. I have seen her husband's speeches, not just read the clips, people have shared of bits of them. I don't agree with what he says but I cannot see how that deserves being killed or how cheering at his killing makes anything better.

She has shown she isn't hateful. That was my point, she's shown forgiveness in the face of sheer horror.

The fact you believe her is baffling. She is lying.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 22/09/2025 06:30

Christians (especially Christian women) quite often feel under pressure to "forgive".
It's very early to be talking about forgiveness. She'll still be in shock.
So sorry for her loss though.
I didnt agree with Charlie Kirk but he didn't deserve to be gunned down for taking part in a debate.

User37482 · 22/09/2025 06:32

People are ascribing all sorts to a woman they don’t know. Maybe she loved her husband very much and is genuinely sad that someone murdered him, she has two small kids and is in the public eye. “Set up for life” yeah thats what I’d be thinking if DH was murdered and I was trying to explain that someone couldn’t tolerate him just saying stuff so they killed him to my devastated children. Can you imagine how his children must be feeling.

The complete lack of empathy here is shocking. I didn’t follow him but I do remember him saying he doesn’t use the word empathy because no-one really knows what it’s like to be in someone else’s shoes.

People have become degenerate. I’m actually disgusted tbh. This is facistic behaviour, killing of political opponents celebrated or dismissed.

Again - he played a significant role in trying to overturn the 2020 election.

Spare me the "free speech warrior" shtick. He was complicit in trying to strip Americans of their most powerful means of expression in a democracy - the right to vote.

If you value debate and the free exchange of ideas, why celebrate someone opposed to democracy itself?

IWasScaredToBeHeld · 22/09/2025 06:34

Just goes to show how men will exploit women even in their most vulnerable moments

Yet the thread started "To people who said her husband was hateful..."

If he and Trump has succeeded in their plot to overthrow the 2020 election results, would you feel disgusted at his murder then?

(FWIW, I do have sincere sympathy for his children).

LOL at the idea that we have free speech in the UK.
Cancel culture is rife here as anyone with eyes and ears will have noticed.
