Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:22

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

In your opinion he had hateful views

Well who else’s opinion is she going to be sharing?

ThatBlackCat · 22/09/2025 18:32

One would think a certain unhinged poster would learn and stop posting their extreme vile psychotic hatred.... Their posts never stand. I wonder why. It might be helpful to reflect and learn not to be so combative and spiteful.

Twinmum345 · 22/09/2025 11:14

He didn’t have hateful views. Go and watch his videos at length.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I’d rather have a smear.

Wow. Name-calling. I haven't called you any names. Yet you're the one who accused me of defending school shooters. And I'm the lunatic? lol So you don't condemn them? Or you do? Do you understand what the word condemn means?

If you're not up to date maybe get the smear and watch the videos afterwards so that you'll at least know who and what you're talking about

HaveItOffTilICough · 22/09/2025 18:44

I already know, but thanks for the suggestion.

Bless her, what a young woman to have suffered such trauma.

She's 36

bevm72yellow · 22/09/2025 18:57

It is just words that she said. " Forgiveness " is active not just the usual lip service. I have met somebody from similar background following murder of his parent for political reasons. Once I got to know his family they were far from forgiving ( but outwardly claimed Forgiveness). Nothing wrong with saying "I am angry, hurt destroyed and numb" then acceptance can maybe come later.

Icon15 · 22/09/2025 18:58

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:39

I imagine many would be very angry, seeking revenge etc.

I'm not sure about that. How would anger and revenge make anything better? It certainly wouldn't bring the dead person back. He's gone - and his widow needs to be able to live the rest of her life without being consumed by hatred and anger and a desire for retribution. She's done the right thing for herself and her children. Forgiveness extinguishes the hate.

That's pretty young as an age to see your spouse die.

MoFadaCromulent · 22/09/2025 00:00

Surely the point the poster was making is that anything his wife does, good, bad or indifferent, does not posthumously alter what her husband did.

So the premise of "for those of you who said x about him, his wife doing Y proves you wrong" is fundamentally flawed as the two are not linked.

Someone could logically say he was hateful and preached hate and be correct from a logical consistency POV and his wife could be the ultimate example of b forgiveness. One does not preclude the other.

So the issue is with your setup of "her forgiveness proves you wrong" rather than people arguing that she can't be forgiving

This, exactly.

I cannot begin to imagine what she is going through.

I do think that forgiveness can be very powerful for the forgiver and is generally something that only truly comes after processing a lot of other emotions and feelings. It has been 12 days since Charlie was killed. Perhaps she is a speedy processor, or perhaps she doesn't know which way is up at the moment. I hope that she heals well, whatever her timeframe is.

Who are ‘they’? Why are you hell bent on labelling and pigeon holing people into ‘right’ and ‘left’? The only person gagging for attention and making bizarre unfounded statements is you.

You sound utterly deranged. Time to get off the internet and into the real world.

Aren’t the left the ones that are hell bent on pigeon holing and abuse.
Ah you are projecting, with yourself, looking for attention and making bizarre unfounded statements.I hardly post ….you actually do seem to be the one looking for attention.
Sweetie I am out in the real world, sitting in hospital waiting for an x ray.
It might help if you speak to your doctor about your derangement.

He was a very good man from what I can see who on the whole wanted to talk and spread a certain message. He was confident, bordering on arrogant and cocky at times which rubbed people up the wrong way. But I don’t believe he was hateful. He had ‘extreme’ views to some, but they were based on moral, religious teachings - eg evangelical Christianity. Not so extreme to others. Mostly based on rationality and reason - eg the abortion debate, so they’re difficult to stomach for many people. But his main message was listen and talk. Unfortunately many people are incapable of that, it seems.

If they considered Kimmel’s comments to be reasonable and measured, perhaps ABC might have resisted such pressure and fought his corner? Evidently this was not the case.

Kimmel was free to express his views, but they came with consequences.

Then it's not free speech, is it? That lady over here (UK) spouted some hateful stuff towards immigrants and was then jailed for it.

Is that both freedom of expression, and freedom of expression with consequences?

Gun ownership percentages by state is actually not correlated with gun-related homicides. It’s only directly linked to gun-related suicides.

So going into schools and shooting kids is okay then? If someone wants to kill themselves that's that but there are too many shootings everywhere else and mainly innocent victims.
Why does the average Joe and Jane need assault rifles and heavy duty weapons in their homes? I know someone in the Stateswho has enough weapons to start a fucking war! All legal and he thinks it's pkay and right.
