Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:22

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

why yes, I do care deeply about my family and any attempt to smear normal American Christians.

Like you are twisting Kirk’s words now in a smear attempt, but I understand. I know you prefer comfortable lies over the harsh truth.

It’s quite difficult to “twist” someone’s words when they are there coming from his mouth all over the internet.

That you find his values to be normal and Christian confirms my belief that religion is dangerous.

So why don't you post what he said then?

The thing you don't seem to understand is that everyone cares about their family. Everyone deserves to live safely, and free from racial, misogynistic and religious hatred. You and your American Christian family are not special.

What's your point? Her forgiving the killer doesnt make any of his vile viewpoints go away does it

I think the point is that this thread is about the wife and her statements.

Someone then said that "we dont need another thread about this hateful man".

And then some here apparently want to continue vocalising their hatred of CK when this thread is about forgiveness not hate.

I hope that's clearer for you.

If you want to continue the debate about whether CK was good or bad, go start your own thread.

It was directed at Gov Walz. He never mentioned Hortman, certainly never implied she deserved it. But if you read it, you would have seen that.

So again. You are either repeating bad information or you are trying to muddy the waters. Why?

Rep. Sen. Mike Lee tweeted “This is what happens when Marxists don’t get their way.” He used Hortman's death as a dig at the left, when the killer was a right wing Republican man.

Mike Lee deleted his offensive tweets and faced zero repercussions.

Yet Matthew Dowd, a political analyst on MSNBC, was fired for saying on air “I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” he said on the network. “You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have saying these awful words, and then not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in.”

Do you not see the hypocrisy?

While I don't condone his murder I am glad there is one less misogynist, homophone preaching to boys and young men on the Internet.

If you’re a WNBA, pot-smoking, Black lesbian, do you get treated better than a United States marine?
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 8 December 2022
Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact. It’s happening more and more.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 19 May 2023
If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 3 January 2024
If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called racists. Now they’re coming out and they’re saying it for us … You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 13 July 2023

Nah..nothing hateful there.

Ah the irony.

Poster says "watch videos at length"

You post tiny clips from within discussions.

The "black youths roaming" one relates to a blatant misrepresentation of the facts about an argument between a white woman (pregnant) and a black youths. It relates to an action by the black youths who baited the woman when she rented a city-bike. And in which the context was stripped so she got vilified and lost her job. I think its more to do with idiots creating content bait they can monetise

But you want to take one tiny comment about Chicago in this wider context and try to imply that "blacks roaming" was the subject or proposition of the discussion.

Shame on you for your distortions.

I dont have time to refute your others but I can tell you some of them at least we're railing against lower scrutiny for hiring certain groups of people, and the concern is whether standards are being reduced to facilitate that. You can argue that he's wrong but you shouldn't misrepresent that concern as racist or sexist.

No. It later came out that the shooter was not a leftist, initially it was thought that he was due to having the ‘No Kings’ rally flyers in his car.

But he never directed hateful rhetoric at Ms Hortman, and you seem to now acknowledge.

Whereas Dowd basically directed this awful rhetoric towards Charlie, implying he brought his own murder on himself.

He was none of those things. He was a positive male influence unlike the Tate brothers.

I am not arguing that they have a dissenting view just that off-topic posts derail a thread.

Otherwise what's the point of having threads at all. I'm sure that if I posted stuff about Gaza on a "is my DH being unfaithful" thread you'd consider that wrong.

Or do you disagree ??

On this one in particular there was the irony of someone posting that they didn't want another thread on CK when it wasn't about him originally, but by that comment made sure the thread became almost entirely about him...

He really wasn't. I work in a secondary school in the uk, just last week a 13 year old told me "that all black people want better rights than white people". When I asked where he got that he replied 'Charlie Kirk"

That's without him wanting autonomy over womens bodies.

Do you really mean hateful? Or just what you don't like? They're not the same thing.

Lots of people here have views i find abhorrent. Some.of CKs fall into that category for me.

But I struggle to see genuine hate there, just a different worldview.

Probably because he had nothing to forgive because he never said what you are accusing him of. It’s nearly as bad as the people cherrypicking parts of his quote about empathy and sympathy but leaving the sympathy part out.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/charlie-kirk-gay-people-stoned/

I never said he did say that. He did however say he wouldn’t accept his child being gay. I have an issue with that. But then that’s why we stopped going to our local Christian church. As the mother of a gay daughter I just can’t comprehend why who she loves causes so much anger in others.

It wasn't thought that the shooter was left wing. 'right wing social media accounts with millions of followers manufactured false conspiracy theories. The lies ignore overwhelming evidence of Boelter’s actual politics: his roommate David Carlson told reporters that Boelter voted for Trump and “was a strong supporter” of the president. Other longtime friends told local media Boelter was right-leaning...he was registered as a Republican in Oklahoma.'

Mike Lee used Hortman's death to spread lies. That is hateful.

I do. I think what he did was dangerous but you don't have to agree with me, I have no issue with that. I think he had extremist views and hid behind a certain persona.

I am not glad he is dead, I would say no one deserves that however I am not sure i 100% mean that in some cases. I just dislike he had such a huge platform to spread his views. Him dying has just made that even bigger unfortunately.

Who knows. I doubt its up to her. However, to publicly say she forgives the killer.... many would struggle to do that.

She did struggle! I don't blame her at all but when she said it I thought 'oh my goodness she looks full of hatred and rage'.
