Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:22

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

I'm right wing thanks.
I'm not interested in the sobbing and wailing over idiots who bang on about the right to bear arms. I don't hate them I disgree with them.
America is a young country and so child like in many ways. Guns are like toys to so many peeps and they will keep them regardless.
I have American relatives, and they are obsessed with their rights to bear arms.
Live by the gun, die by it.

Gun ownership percentages by state is actually not correlated with gun-related homicides. It’s only directly linked to gun-related suicides.

Why? Don’t you think EK is grieving. What’s there to cry laugh about?

I’m completely against censorship but you can’t say the left hasn’t been exploiting it for years in the USA. And here.

Old Twitter was run by a version of the thought police.

Mainstream beliefs like the fact that transwomen are male, were removed and posters banned.

I wonder how many left wing journalists moaning about Kimmel agree that Turning Point should have a public platform? I mean, many political activists like CK took to social media to avoid the natural pitfalls of legacy media: ie, that free speech is only feee when it parrots correct left wing dogma.

Which left wing journalist has said Turning Point should be shut down?

I agree the TWAW debacle is a disaster for women, but I don't think Twitter was at fault, was it? JK Rowling was never banned.

The people that were banned were people like Tommy Robinson, Katie Hopkins because they were inciting racial hatred, which has a very specific definition of endangering the lives of people.

free speech is only feee when it parrots correct left wing dogma.

Again, the evidence doesn't back this up. Trump is the censorist.

Do you not understand the difference between an individual on MN expressing contempt for a man with right wing views and the political stance that is left wing? Are you genuinely so ill informed about left wing politics that you think this post is 'what it's about'? There is much information available on the sociological and economic ideas that underpin left wing policies with which to broaden your knowledge.

lot of hatred for a man who promoted very middle American values. When I hear people express indifference or even joy over his death, I know this is how they would react to my family dying in such a way.

Megan Murphy was banned from pre-Elon twitter for ‘misgendering’ it happened to smaller fish for sure. She was the one that really brought the ‘Jessica Yaniv’ case to light.

Yep, and at the same time they're sleep walking into a dictatorship.

Trump and allies are talking about classifying groups they disagree with as domestic terrorists and revoking tax-exempt status for non-profit organisations of rival political parties.

JD Vance has had companies sack anyone seen to be "celebrating Charlie's murder". Nothing about the people who celebrated the Democrat Melissa Hortman's murder, that's fine apparently.

The issue isn't how many people decide to take up the right of gun ownership. Its the fact that's its a right than can be utilised by unstable and violent individuals, meaning they are far more dangerous than they would otherwise be.
The important correlation would be homicides by gun toting would be murderers, versus homicides by individuals with murderous intent, but no fire arm.
If TR hadn't had a fire arm, he'd still be in his bedroom hating the still living CK.

Please show me anyone who celebrated her death. Nobody did. Nobody had ever heard of her. The worst was probably just blaming Gov Walz because he (iirc) had hired the guy.

Even if calling Muslims stupid, Jews as controllers of immigration policy, black people as 'prowling' after white people, and saying women should only go to college to meet husband and have babies is really 'middle America', it doesn't make that view it right and exempt from criticism.

You only seem to be concerned about what affect your family, not the wider country and world.

HaveItOffTilICough · 22/09/2025 11:01

ThatBlackCat · 22/09/2025 09:40

They don't believe they are "hating" the person though. They say it regularly themselves, they love the person but hate the 'sin'. There is a real serious problem with people seeing an adverse opinion as 'hate'. It's narrow-minded bigotry to ascribe 'hate' to a person's beliefs. Just because someone has a different view to you, doesn't mean they 'hate' you. Society has completely lost touch with what 'hate' actually means.

“Hate the sin, love the sinner” is a complete cop-out. If you didn’t hate me, you wouldn’t believe I was a sinner. You cannot hate a fundamental part of a person’s identity believe they can and should somehow change that identity and yet still claim you don’t hate them. It’s incompatible.

He was killed by an old hunting rifle, something that would not generally be restricted even under EU law.

You have plenty of scope to confiscate unlicensed guns, which are used in the majority of homicides. Stop and frisk was very effective in getting those off the street. But both Dems and GOP hate those laws, for very different reasons. But it is a very effective tactic. For me, I’d be very supportive of a resurgence of this strategy and iirc it’s being done in Washington DC now.

Not forgiven the gays for loving the “wrong” sex though hey.

Probably because he had nothing to forgive because he never said what you are accusing him of. It’s nearly as bad as the people cherrypicking parts of his quote about empathy and sympathy but leaving the sympathy part out.

Charlie Kirk didn't say gay people should be stoned to death

The Turning Point USA co-founder and conservative commentator was fatally shot while speaking at a Utah college.

It was directed at Gov Walz. He never mentioned Hortman, certainly never implied she deserved it. But if you read it, you would have seen that.

So again. You are either repeating bad information or you are trying to muddy the waters. Why?

Often people just say the words ‘I forgive’. just saying it is easy. Most people who say it spend a lifetime consumed because saying it and actually doing it are not the same. We’ve heard people say they forgive a killer before but they don’t really, not in their hearts.

– The Charlie Kirk Show, 8 December 2022
Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact. It’s happening more and more.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 19 May 2023
If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 3 January 2024
If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called racists. Now they’re coming out and they’re saying it for us … You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.

I'm making a wider point that all the hand wringing about how terrible it is that people just won't talk things through instead of resorting to violence is entirely pointless, preaching to the choir, given that most people of the left and the right already support peaceful campaigning over shooting their opponents. Otherwise there would be a blood bath.
However, you will always have individuals who are unstable and a potential threat to the safety of others. All the talk in the world won't remove their motive for violence, so you have to remove or at least reduce their means and opportunity. And as you don't know who they are, the only realistic way is to remove or at least reduce the means and opportunity from everyone.
