Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

I'd really like to know her definition of 'forgiveness'. Because she likens it to that of God's. Which is today you will be with me in paradise, more joy over a repentant sinner etc.
I struggle to imagine she would think that if the killer was truly sorry he should be welcomed joyfully back into society and that his crime should not effect his future rewards. That he should be considered equally as beloved and treated just as well by God and man as her husband.
I imagine she's speaking of a determination not to let hate of the killer dominate her life and make her bitter and angry. If she achieves this she will probably have more peace of mind for it. But the killer will not be effected either way unless she extends this to speaking for him. So it's not an act of kindness towards him, but a decision for herself.

I’m a rad feminist, so from that lens yeah I think he was. Look at the amount of content and discussion we’re having right now.

I don’t agree with much of what he said, especially when it came to women’s rights, but I will defend to the death the right of anyone to say anything with being shot for it, and for it never to be celebrated if that does happen.

I also think the martyrdom is a mid sign of authoritarianism.

theres much more on this thread to get incensed about before we discuss the definition of a ‘great man’. I have little time for ‘great men’ but I think he was probably one of them, yes, in his ability and proclivity to reach across the aisle and discuss - lots of woman in the UK have been missing this for years and he was Winston Churchill compared to a fuckwit like Miller.

The funny thing is he didn’t even debate. He shouted facts, and that was that. He never actually engaged in discussions.

It’s Performative… she has to say it, to continue the “Christian” narrative they all claim.

Nothing Christian about hateful views - our actions are more important than our words.

But it's so obviously...fake.

You can't possibly forgive somebody this quickly. Its ridiculous. It basically excludes grief and anger, two of the most basic human emotions.

HaveItOffTilICough · 22/09/2025 07:35

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:38

You are very combative, are you OK?

It must have taken a lot for her to forgive the killer, she is devastated having lost the love of her life. Impossible to imagine what she is going through.

It suits their narrative.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 22/09/2025 07:36

Surely her saying she forgives the killer is a good thing for the public to hear, whether she really means it yet or not. Anything to help calm the vitriol on all sides. Imagine if she’d got up there and said the exact opposite.

cheeseforever · 22/09/2025 07:37

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:30

Who knows. I doubt its up to her. However, to publicly say she forgives the killer.... many would struggle to do that.

It’s normal. I’ve done it. Hatred does more harm to the person doing the hating. Punishment is not in our hands. The only thing I wish for my relative’s killer is life in prison (so he can’t do it again, why waste time hoping he is having a bad time, you have to let that go) and I hope one day God will show him remorse for his actions.
I am glad for her that she has been able to forgive her husband’s killer, it will help her.

How do you do it?

RingoJuice · 22/09/2025 07:08

I am not Christian so need not worry about it. But she gives an explanation that is probably acceptable to most Christians.

Kirk was certainly not racist. But when 60% of the murders in my home country are committed by 13% of the population, a conversation needs to be had. He understood that. Our cowardly politicians will hide and say the most mealy mouthed things, anything to avoid being called a racist. It’s horrific.

He certainly was racist, openly.

It absolutely is not normal to have “forgiven” your husbands killer within two weeks of his death, and to be using this as an opportunity to politically campaign. It is not normal to turn his memorial into a political stunt.

What narrative is that then

The one where, despite preaching hate, saying they’d force raped minors into giving birth and claiming it’s worth a few deaths to allow any Tom, Dick or Charlie to own a gun, they present themselves as loving and kind Christians.

And people will swallow it. Look at this thread.

IWasScaredToBeHeld · 22/09/2025 07:44

The full quote is no better and just expands on his hateful views.

It appeared you were referring to me, sorry

The worthless college dropout killer was brought up in a conservative household. He became radicalised online and was even known at school at “the Reddit Kid.” Even his family were becoming concerned at his radical left views he was spouting.
Anyway his boyfriend is singing like a canary ( the trans one who is also a furry).

Thanks.

No idea why some people insist the killer was MAGA he wasn't. He was radicalised and thought killing someone he disagreed with was the answer.

in your opinion. Isn’t free speech great?
thank goodness we have fact checking websites like snopes.

But that conversation needs to be focused on WHY that happens. Things like the broken windows theory, poorer outcomes for the poorest in society, the fact that it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. Not the disgusting, racist bile that Kirk was spewing.

That conversation has been had since the 1960s and it hasn’t got better. We need to be straightforward and stop talking around it, because that hesitation solves NOTHING.

It all seems a bit too simple.
Even the text messages exchanged, who talks like that? I'm just changing my outfit. There is still one vehicle? A squad car? Where was the gun when he climbed off the building? Where did he it? They found the gun, not the type you can't tuck inside your waistband, climbing off a building.
It's hard to believe or accept the narrative.
Also suspicious that on the anniversary of Trump's near death experience, it's barely acknowledged. Shhh.

Trying to take a charitable view of it, I thought perhaps she believed that she was honouring her husband's memory by allowing it to become a political rally. Supporting the cause that he believed in, iyswim.

It was quite weird at times, though. Trump's ramblings were dreadful and completely off topic a lot of the time. It was like he kept forgetting why he was there and then suddenly remembering again.

I did find myself wondering whether Erika Kirk will seek to launch a political career off the back of this. It certainly looked like she might be thinking about it.

She’s already done so.

It’s just disgusting. The entire thing stinks. Absolutely stinks. Kirk was calling for the release of the Epstein files in their entirety and according to sources close to him, had shifted from being very pro-Israel to taking a critical view of their actions in Palestine. Then he’s murdered and this happens. Utterly bizarre

This guy nailed it (and he’s a total liberal, but one that can still think for himself on some level):

Interesting two hander with Trump there. She establishes 'their side' as having a god like righteousness and a goodness most would only aspire to. Demonstrates the 'feminine' virtues of gentle kindness and love.
Then, just in case that's seen as weakness where the more muscular brethren are concerned, he comes in like the avenging angel to smite those that stand in the way of all this goodness.
Truly something for everyone there and a strong message that if we want a society of Charlies and to protect our Erikas, then we (sadly) need to use force to drive out the evil of our opponants.

sanluca · 22/09/2025 08:02

This thread is awful to read. Some people will apparantly call everything 'hate', even a hypothetical answer Kirk gave on his views on abortion.

Our western society is going to hell in a handbasket as there are too many people who are just so arrogant in their closed mindness. On both sides of the political spectrum. There just doesn't seem to be any drive anymore to find common ground.

Kirk was a fairly centric and open minded guy on most topics. And he got killed and left the more extreme people to take over. And instead of trying to get back to common ground, the left and right just doubles down and refuses to even try. Pathetic.
