To ask a picture of your favourite mug for tea?

A light Friday post. What is your go to mug for tea drinking? And do you use a teabag or loose tea with a strainer or teapot?

This is my favourite mug, it is slightly curved towards the top so keeps the tea warmer for longer. I have the matching teapot and milk jug but rarely use them just for myself but they look good together on the shelf.

I've realised I don't have a favourite mug. We just use the service given to us for a wedding present 25 years ago (Denby) which is still going strong. I think I may need an argument for purchasing a new (few) favourite mugs...🤔

Thank you to the PP who mentioned Sophie Allport...there are some lovely ones there...MIL has been on the look out for a large, thin mug for her tea...'none of those tiny mugs mind; it has to be a bucket'...so I feel a purchase coming on!!

This is my current fave- I pretend the kids bought it for me but I actually just got it for myself as I loved it 🤣

Here is mine. It’s from John Lewis. I like a bone china mug and not one of these modern buckets that weigh a ton and make you feel guilty because you can’t manage the bottom half litre of tea. These mugs used to come with gold and silver handles but nowadays only come in blue, pink or plain. I miss my gold handled mug.
When alone, I drink my ‘funny tea’ as DH calls it. That might be Lady Grey or peppermint. But when DH is around its builders. This is Tetley. We would usually have Yorkshire but something has gone awry with that recently - it doesn’t taste right, so we are working our way through the supermarket shelf. Tetley is ok-ish.
This is not much of a Friday night.

This is what I’m drinking now, I like a cup of tea and my book when I come to beds, this is my wrendale mug.

during the day I tend to prefer a cup and saucer bur find a mug is easier in bed

My favourite is my iitala mug too! You’re right about it being a decent size. I have a Different design though, but I do have the design of your mug in bowl form 😄

I’m a bit of a collector. This is my current favourite, by Hornsea Pottery.

I haven't got a picture of it, but a while ago I had a very serious situation with someone from my church. We were both hurting so much afterwards, for a very long time. When we tentatively started to make steps towards talking again, she offered me a cup of tea and I accepted. When she came back from the kitchen, she gave me the tea in a mug which had the word 'coffee' written all over it. I took one look at it and burst out laughing. It broke the ice. And she always did make a shite cup of tea.

My current cup is the tall skinny Stitch cup that I recently got off Vinted before that it was the Stanley style Stitch cup that I got from Primark that I had to stop using I recently
badly broke my arm and wrist and couldn’t use that cup. I love the cups that keep my tea hot for hours.

I quite like this bone china one but is 300 mls enough? I don’t want to make an expensive mistake.
