A light Friday post. What is your go to mug for tea drinking? And do you use a teabag or loose tea with a strainer or teapot?

@stickybear It's from John Lewis but I've just had a look on their website and they don't seem to do it anymore Sad It was from a range called Hobbies, I think, if you wanted to try searching it

Love your mug 😂

The child bought it, I have various mugs with various sayings on

OliveHenry · 19/09/2025 14:53

This is my favourite. White inside and a decent size (0.4l).

I use tea leaves first thing (Yorkshire or Booth's if I'm feeling fancy), then bags (also Yorkshire) for the rest of the day!

Mine with Yorkshire tea

I want this mug so much😂

Large Sophie Allport bone china ones for me, like the photo. I have quite a lot of them, and have preferred pictures.

Teabags (too lazy for leaves, and I hate stewed tea so wouldn't go back to a pot anyway) - Yorkshire Gold is the current teabag of choice.

I love this thread, thanks OP ❤️
Sadly, I’ve realised I have no mug I really love, which is something that needs rectifying fast 😅

saveforthat · 19/09/2025 15:11

It's got to be bone China for me. I have several. This is one of my favourites.

I used to think this was the wankiest thing ever - but tea does taste better in a bone china mug.
Current favourite: Waitrose Gold tea bags. The bags contain actual tea leaves, rather than what looks and tastes like the sweepings off the factory floor.

Cheepcheepcheep · 19/09/2025 15:40

This thread is perfect for me - I’ve taken violently against our mishmash of mug styles this week and decided I want to throw them all out and replace them (yes my last period was 26 days ago, how did you guess?)

My mother in law has fab collection of rounded (narrower at the top with a nice curvy bottom) earthenware ones. I might just start slipping one in my handbag every time I’m over there and see how long it takes for her to notice.

Tend to use teabags these days but prefer loose tea, however it is always, always made in the pot. Love my chicken mug.

Never tea. Only coffee.

This is the best 😍

The Keep Calm one is for the first cup of the day and the other is for subsequent cups.

Hard agree on the white insides; my SiL gave me a Harry Potter cauldron style mug and although it’s nice and big I can’t use it because it’s black inside and the tea just looks wrong.

I love your second mug.

Looks like a great size and shape!!! I hate chickens though 😂

Seawolves · 19/09/2025 15:52

Teabags. Can't show my favourite mug as it has photos of one of my previous foster children on it, it was a gift for my 60th birthday and it makes me smile every day.

calanaiscailleach · 19/09/2025 15:57

This is mine. My husband has a strict one in one out policy…I may have a few he doesn’t know about. Yet. Halo
