Has anybody got any feedback on this company?
I am looking for new windows, they have applied high pressure sales techniques which are awful. They've come down a lot on price to nearer what I told them was my budget.
Now they want me to accept it within 1/2 an hour or the quote is invalid.
I hate this kind of pressure.
They have also bad mouthed local, small companies.

I'm about ready to say no just based on the pressure.
Have you used them and are they any good?

Do not touch them with a sixty foot barge pole. Try to get a recommendation for a local independent window fitter. You will get far better aftersales service should there be any problems and they will quote you an honest price to begin with.

InveterateWineDrinker · 11/09/2025 16:17

Another one with dreadful experience when trying to get a quote for a conservatory. She had clearly been 'trained' in high pressure sales but was so incompetent there was never any danger of actually winning us over, even if the price had been competitive (which it wasn't).

Several months afterwards I received a series of phone calls from someone else in Anglian asking about her... they were clearly trying to discipline or dismiss her. I provided a great deal of feedback with gay abandon.

Leicestershiremum · 11/09/2025 16:32

My MIL would not take our advice to not go with them. Ended up with terrible service, faulty windows and what ending up being lots of stress for us all as I ended up emailing and whatt not. Save yourself lots of trouble and look for a local window manufacturer (not just fitter) for the best service and price

Bigearringsbigsmile · 11/09/2025 16:45

DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!
We had an absolutely awful time with them. They took 6 months to fit a door. 6 bloody months. And we couldn't back out because we'd paid a deposit and wouldn't get it back.
They messed us around so much.

Seriously. Don't do it.

I’ve used Anglian Windows a couple of times but after the last experience I wouldn’t use them again. The product and service itself is great, as is the after service, but their pressured sales techniques are awful. When I got the quotes for the work they were trying to pressure me into agreeing to the work before l was ready and they were pushing the finance aspect even though I had told them I didn’t need it. I mentioned in passing that I may need to have a back door and patio door replaced in the next couple of years - but that the work wasn’t urgent and I didn’t have the money at the moment. It was a casual comment but by the time they’d finished with me I was sorry I’d opened my mouth.

The phone was ringing off the hook for weeks after they finished the current job and no amount of explaining that I wasn’t ready to have the work done, and didn’t have sufficient funds would stop them. There was phone call after phone call offering discounts, special offers and ‘low cost’ finance. In the end the only way to get rid of the salesman was to agree to him contacting me in a few months to check the position. By then I had already made up my mind that I wouldn’t use them again. When they did ring back I told them I had changed my mind and wouldn’t be proceeding with the work. The salesman was livid and accused me of wasting his time. At which point I thanked him for his interest, told him that my decision was final and that one more phone call from anyone at Anglian would result in a complaint to the police for harassment. I haven’t heard from them since and nor do I want to.

And this is why they have got the SH contracts. Taking months to do anything is seen as the norm in social housing

Thanks for the replies. I blocked the sales persons number, replied to the email telling them not to come to the appointment, then the ‘regional manager’ called me so I told her about the hard sell being too off putting and that I’d go to a company who were happy to quote with pressuring and harassing potential clients and who didn’t criticise other companies, then blocked their number too.

Of course I meant without pressuring.

I worked for them for less than 2 weeks when I was a late teen years ago! I went in as admin and within about 3 days they’d got me cold calling people! I hated it. The older woman who managed me was vile to me too. Would never even consider using them!

Connectingconcrable · 12/09/2025 04:23

We almost signed up after some very pushy sales techniques. We saved a lot of money by going with a local firm.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 12/09/2025 04:37

Use a local company as a big nationwide one will dick you about if there’s a problem.
A few years ago (20), my father had a new door installed by a nationwide company and the stained glass wasn’t ready so they just put a panel in. 3 months later and lots of ‘where is my glass?’ My df passed the salesman’s house. The guy had a brightly coloured car with a private plate and lived on a busy road. Yep, my df knocked on his door enquiring where the glass for his door was, the wife answered. And this is how the stained glass panel got fitted to the door the very next day 😉😂
Sorry, I just love telling this story of my df, he was a legend.

Do you remember the One Foot in the Grave scene when Victor locks a salesman in his own front porch and puts the key in the post.

No I don’t. I thought I’d watched all of One foot in the grave episodes, I named my geese after him as they used to moan relentlessly. Vickie, Victor and Victoria 😂

Looloolullabelle · 12/09/2025 18:28

They are horrendous. We had them out to quote for a new front door. Fuck me. I thought they were never going to go. There was one older guy and a younger guy who sounded like he worked for bloody Butlins.

Awful awful people, took ages to give me a price, going through all these different ways to get the price down, then the older guy started talking about Brexit and how he voted to leave because of the immigrants, despite the fact that our surname is very obviously not British.

Fucking arseholes. Never ever ever again.

Shinysunday · 12/09/2025 20:05

Say no and find a local company to email a quote and wait for a reply.

Seawolves · 12/09/2025 20:09

I had a bloody awful, high pressure, quietly menacing experience with them many, many moons ago. I would never, ever use them.

1987qwerty · 12/09/2025 20:11

I always open by saying l'm signing nothing today, just want your best price and 48 hours to consider. If you can't do that then please leave now. Also Anglian are not a company l would ever ask round.

Thisismyalterego · 12/09/2025 20:35

My Mil wanted the windows at the front replacing, just before COVID. So, two upstairs windows (bedrooms) and one downstairs (living room). Downstairs window was a fake bow window. She was happy enough though they were expensive. My mum also had new windows from Anglian, no choice as she is is SH. They didn't even measure her windows - there are about 4 SH houses in her strey, so they measured one and made the windows for all the houses from that one set of measurements. Which is why everyone one of her windows has loads of filler around them to fill the gaps between the windows and the walls. They look dreadful, the only consolation is that she didn't have to pay. When we wanted new windows and doors a couple of years ago, we got recommendations for local companies. The one we went with did the whole house, new front and back doors and put in patio doors where we'd previously had side windows and a door for less than half the cost mil had paid Anglian for three windows just a few years earlier!

Hohofortherobbers · 12/09/2025 20:45

Stay well away from Anglian!!!!
We had the salesman for a quote, awful experience, hard sell, telephone calls to his manager to 'see what he could do' money off for signing immediately, had to have both householders present for appt. Price kept dropping for this, that and the other, Horrible man who we had to firmly ask to leave eventually, he obviously knew nothing about glazing and was all talk.
Went with an established local company, the owner arrived, measured, recommended and quoted. No hard sell, that was his price , take it or leave it. They were great and I am delighted with their
work.
