Has anybody got any feedback on this company?
I am looking for new windows, they have applied high pressure sales techniques which are awful. They've come down a lot on price to nearer what I told them was my budget.
Now they want me to accept it within 1/2 an hour or the quote is invalid.
I hate this kind of pressure.
They have also bad mouthed local, small companies.

I'm about ready to say no just based on the pressure.
Have you used them and are they any good?

I used them a couple of years ago and had a dreadful experience. There was no accountability & they just didn't care about the problems they caused by their shoddy work. I'd never ever use them again.

IzzyHandsIsMySpiritAnimal · 11/09/2025 13:58

They're awful. About a decade ago we were getting new windows and called a number of companies to get quotes. The were really persistent. We ended up using a different company (smaller and local-ish).
Anglian continued to phone us at least once a week, every week, despite us saying the work had been done. They only stopped calling when we moved a year or so later, and then really only because we changed our number.

TeenLifeMum · 11/09/2025 13:59

I kicked the guy out of my house. We wouldn’t agree that moment to a conservatory. The price kept changing and we needed to decide right then or it’d go up… okay, I have a toddler and newborn twins so I’m sleep deprived and want to have a conversation with dh before spending £20k rather than deciding in one though pressure meeting. He then accused us of being time wasters and never had any intention of getting a conservatory. We started building one 6 weeks later with a local family-run company who weren’t arseholes.

oh and he told us all our windows (on our 4yo home) needed replacing because they were such poor quality and was deeply offended when I said they functioned to my satisfaction and I had no concerns re insulation or sound, and keeping rain out. Never again will I get a quote from a chain.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/09/2025 13:46

This is something I've never understood, @WellThatsJustTypical - why are people prepared to spend hours with them when the tactics are already so well reported?

Come to that, OP wrote as if they were actually there with her ("I'm just about to say ...") so how was she getting chance to post in between their blatherings?

Yes - although this was nearly 20 years ago, so the internet warnings weren't quite as available then as they are now!

I was just too polite in those days. Not any more! But it takes something to say "Get out of my house" to someone, when you've initially invited them in and they haven't actually been rude to you (apart from overstaying). And as I mentioned, even doing that didn't actually get rid of him!

If they're still in the house with OP, then I find it completely plausible that she has time to post on here. In our case, the salesman was spending ages making (presumably fake) phone calls to his office, and (definitely fake) calculations on a notepad. Most of his faffing wasn't actually in conversation with us (probably because our half of the conversation just consisted of us saying no, albeit much too politely). He was spending a lot of time just arsing around trying to look as if he was a good guy who was trying to get us the best deal that "the office" would agree to. It was even quite convincing to start with. So it's entirely possible that OP has time to post on here, even if the salesman is still with her.

Vaxtable · 11/09/2025 14:09

Wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. Use local companies, seek references from others

Friolero · 11/09/2025 14:09

I had a very similar experience to you OP. Their sales guy was really pushy, totally slated the local independent company who we already had a quote from (despite the local company having a very good reputation), and were pressurising me to go with their quote, which they’d apparently managed to reduce to about half their initial quote by getting a “special deal” from the manager which was only valid for a very short time.

As soon as the sales guy left both DH and I decided there was no way we were going with Anglian, as we couldn’t stand how pushy he was. We went with the local company and they did a great job!

ApathyMartha · 11/09/2025 14:10

I had one experience when I wasn’t in my twenties where the salesman kept phoning his boss to see if he could get me more of a discount. After that if any sales people even suggest phoning the boss it’s the door. In the words of Grange Hill ‘Just say no’. (Showing my age).

I had THE WORST POSSIBLE experience with them and would suggest you don’t touch them with an extra long barge pole!
Go on Facebook and search for a group (I can’t recall its exact name) of complaints about them, the same stories again and again. In my opinion they are an awful company.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/09/2025 14:14

Yes, that makes sense @WellThatsJustTypical

My own "worst" was years ago when I was younger and even more stupid, and foolishly believed some cold calling "market surveyor" that they really weren't selling anything

They'd barely sat down before admitting with a sheepish grin that actually they were selling something, but sadly didn't have an answer when I asked what possibly confidence I could have in a company which encouraged lying from the very start

Never again ...

cornbunting · 11/09/2025 14:18

Wouldn't touch Anglian with a bargepole. We had a quote from their (rude and pushy) sales guy that was more than double any of the local firms, and he acted all benevolent when he reduced it a bit.

Since then we've moved house - this house already has Anglian windows and the quality is shoddy. We'll not be using them when we get the glazing redone!

SH tenants cant avoid them They have the SH contracts

They told me that as part of their sales pitch.

DO NOT USE THEM.

They quote at 3x the real price, lie to you saying that prices are ‘going up on Tuesday’ to pressure a sale, and they aren’t worth it. Find a local window company with a good rep and use them instead.

I was quoted £30k by them last year. The local firm did a beautiful job, quickly, for £12k.

Imfat · 11/09/2025 14:30

40 years ago we had a rep give us a 'one time only deal' of £12k.
It took us threatening to set our dog on him to force him to leave.

minsmum · 11/09/2025 14:50

We had them in in January to quote for the whole house windows and doors, they were a pain in the neck. We got their final quote, then spoke to a retired builder friend who told us not to use them. We found a local company who came round did a quick measure up and told us they would email us quotes for two different types.of.Windows. They were less than half the price.of anglian, no hard sell. We phoned to accept our quote but they told us to hold fire and come their premises and have a look at the Windows before we go with the more expensive option we liked. They will then come round and measure properly. So probably an hour in the house in total before they start the work

Daffknee · 11/09/2025 14:54

They ended up giving us the cheapest quote of all - after their first price had been 4x higher. What a "bargain". We said no and went with a local company who'd given us best price first time.

SlothCat · 11/09/2025 15:12

I got a quote from them, they kept lowering the price but it made me feel quite pressured and when I tried to check something before payment I couldn't get hold of anyone so it put me off. One part of the company didn't appear to know that I was already getting a quote from them as well. The agent's manager even called me up and it all just felt too much. I went with a local company and it was really straight forward, good price and good quality windows. AH have continued to call me though and I've now had to block their number as I was getting so many calls from them.

Didimum · 11/09/2025 15:36

Horrendously overpriced. Ignore them and go local.

riversflows · 11/09/2025 15:44

Thanks for the replies. I blocked the sales persons number, replied to the email telling them not to come to the appointment, then the ‘regional manager’ called me so I told her about the hard sell being too off putting and that I’d go to a company who were happy to quote with pressuring and harassing potential clients and who didn’t criticise other companies, then blocked their number too.

girljulian · 11/09/2025 15:46

Absolutely awful pushy company. We used Safestyle instead.

Soupdragon41 · 11/09/2025 15:47

We were subjected to the same high pressure sales techniques….two of them at it for over 3 hours!

We decided on that basis that we didn’t want to use the company and went for a small local company who have been absolutely wonderful.

Peteryourhorseisheree · 11/09/2025 15:53

How are people letting them stay so long! Measure up, give me a price and go.

I wouldn’t tolerate anyone being there for any longer than that took.

If I ever have anyone in for quotes, I make it very clear at the beginning that I will not be taking them on for business today, I will be getting lots of quotes.

MatriarchCaz · 11/09/2025 15:58

They would only give me a quote when my husband was home as well, told them to do one at that point as it was my money that would be paying and outright at that.

Koalaslippers · 11/09/2025 16:03

After an awful experience with safe style pressurising us and harassing me I vowed to not use any company that uses these tactics. We got multiple local quotes and were very happy with who we ended up with.
