To think that if people must have sex during the day, they should have some consideration and do it quietly?

so I'm out in the garden with ds. And suddenly I hear from next door, "oooooooh, aaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaaah aaaaah aaaaah"... you get the idea. And ds says "mummy what's that?" "um, just someone shouting darling".

could they not at least close the windows?

It was a bloody hot day, they prob would have boiled to death without the open windows.

YABU - people can rut in the privacy of their own homes whenever they like. You don't like it ? Go inside and turn your telly up

LuckySalem · 31/05/2008 23:27

Nope your being unreasonable. Their house!!

Just out of interest would it have been ok during the evening? Say 7ish?

twinsetandpearls · 31/05/2008 23:27

I have loud sex in the afternoon.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 31/05/2008 23:29

We often do it (and marginally louder too) during the day because we assume the neighbours are busy off doing their own thing, or with tv's on etc, rather than lying a few feet away quietly at night.

We wouldn't do it so loud you could hear it in your garden though, so yanbu!

harpomarx · 31/05/2008 23:29

it was you, twinset!

and now you want more!

I would like to have loud sex in the afternoon

Really your objection implies that sex is bad or unusual, but it's good and everyone does it, even your parents must have (at least once) so YABU

unknownrebelbang · 31/05/2008 23:31

This is a dilemma.....

noisy sex in the afternoon - disturb the neighbours.

noisy sex at night - disturb your own children.

Which would YOU choose?

pleasedoitquietly · 31/05/2008 23:33

of course they should be able to do it in the privacy of their own home. But with the noise so loud that I, and the children playing in the other surrounding gardens could hear isn't exactly private is it

It wasn't a gentle noise, it was pretty obvious what they were doing.?

LuckySalem · 31/05/2008 23:35

LOL - Me and DP used to be really loud. Then we had DD! So now we're quiet as mice!! lol

pleasedoitquietly · 31/05/2008 23:35

No Greyriverside I don't think sex is bad or unusual. But I don't want to be having to explain to my 5 year old why the neighbours are screaming so loud virtually the whole street can hear.

DirtySexyMummy · 31/05/2008 23:35

But sex is natural, everyone does it. You have. Nothing to be ashamed of, and its not like they were doing it outside where you could see

twinsetandpearls · 31/05/2008 23:37

Doesn't matter what I want I ain't getting it! I know us Blackpool girls are loud but I don;t think you heard me, although we were doing it this afternoon. But window was closed.

shrinkingsagpuss · 31/05/2008 23:38

Do you live in my road?

I was out about to go to work when I heard a woman making very ermm,.. interesting noises!!

not sure if YABU or not... It's not what I want to hear, but it is their home. Better that than someone effing and blinding at their DP or kids!!

megandtyler · 31/05/2008 23:38

tell him they stubbed their toes
that always makes me yell

twinsetandpearls · 31/05/2008 23:38

If I knew kids were playing outside in the next garden I would close the window.

Greyriverside · 31/05/2008 23:40

You could simply say "they are having sex"

callmeovercautious · 31/05/2008 23:40

Oh no was it me? Day time is the only time we get the chance without being exhausted Goodness knows what I will do when DD drops her late morning nap

LuckySalem · 31/05/2008 23:42

I agree - Simply "they're having sex" or they're having "mummy and daddy time"? Something like that.

pleasedoitquietly · 31/05/2008 23:43

There were kids playing in both gardens to the sides and at the back. Very obviously lots of kids.

As an adult I have no issue really, I might not really want to hear it but as you say it's their lives, but I don't really think that children aged between the ages of about 8 and 2/3 are old enough to have to listen to that.

OP posts:
pleasedoitquietly · 31/05/2008 23:45

LuckySalem really? you would be happy to explain to your 3, 4, 5 year old that people are having sex? And just how will you deal with it when your child goes to school and puts up their hand during carpet time and says, "I heard our neighbours having sex yesterday." ?

I once lived in an inner city area, with rows of flats overlooking alleys in the back.

One fine, sunny April afternoon's peace was interrupted by the persistent female moan of 'Ooooo, I'm cumming, I'm cumming!'

After a few minutes of this, an unmistakeably homosexual male voice rang out, 'Then fucking cum already and give the rest of us some peace!' after which the alley resounded with a chorus of clapping and cheers.

Followed by complete silence.

LuckySalem · 31/05/2008 23:47

Honestly - I'd probably choose the mummy and daddy time but if I feel she's old enough I'd want her to know the truth. (not the whole truth tho, IYKWIM)

LuckySalem · 31/05/2008 23:48

Expat - LMAO!!
