I'm quite new on here but have been on forums for years and owned several. I miss forums, so thought I'd give this one a try. I am truly shocked at how some posters on here speak to people who are clearly upset with various issues. AIBU?

And sometimes you post a little comment and someone tries to rip you to shreds! I had a nasty comment this weekend, it was so unnecessary. It makes me realise that people need to feel important and they come here to do it. Pathetic really!

How many parts of the site have you visited apart from AIBU? There is a different feel to other sections.

Agree. And if you actually want to help the OP or just read people's helpful posts, you give in and stop watching it because several people are all arguing about trivia or trying to make themselves the the main person of the thread and the OP decides that life is too short to pander to them and just stops answering.

I couldn’t agree more OP. Lately I keep thinking I should try to stick to the more benign parts of MN, AIBU has been even more of a snake pit than usual of late, and that’s saying something.

There is a fair percentage of people who post on AIBU that have the critical thinking of a 3 year old and are highly unreasonable. They are women who have polarised views on everything, put people down, ridicule anyone who doesn't agree with them, occasionally bully other posters and complain that men are the problem. It's actually comical sometimes

Though I'm not sure why anyone would want to help someone who joins a forum to criticise it, then posts with all the subtly of a rhinoceros and has already had to be deleted for breaking talk guidelines
