I'm quite new on here but have been on forums for years and owned several. I miss forums, so thought I'd give this one a try. I am truly shocked at how some posters on here speak to people who are clearly upset with various issues. AIBU?

It's like real life except you are not emotionally attached to people and that's what makes the advice great.
People from all walks of life giving their two pennyworth.
There will always be those who take things too far or twist things for fun.
Plenty of us are helpful and caring though.

Ok, so you want me gone? Again proving my point.

Being direct, sometimes harsh and blunt is okay really. It’s not my style, but I accept it’s part of online life.

What is really irritating to me is when people nitpick about some pretty irrelevant point. I don’t know, is it an attempt to look clever? They invent stuff that the OP never said, try to mock them and discredit them because of some pretty trivial issue. And then people join in and it goes round and round and misses the point of the OP. That can make threads really boring.

Just experienced it.

OP I'd fight for the people who you refer to as nasty to express their opinions because I believe in free speech.
Equally, it's your right to say your opinions.
You, for example, may think this response is nasty. I'm completely in support of you expressing that opinion or otherwise.
