The Clooneys - is it real

Just that, they seem so deliriously in love in every picture I've seen of them.

More power to them if they are that happy, they've both hit the jackpot in so many ways.

But.. to still look so enthralled with each other after so many years??

That’s actually laughable, clooney is clearly not gay, and even if he was, he certainly wouldn’t need a beard, nor would a successful human rights lawyer agree to it and have kids with him. Cmon, lazy comment,

Why is he ‘clearly’ not gay? We don’t know him.

MrsKeats · 29/08/2025 18:39

I know someone who dated George’s cousin. It’s well known that he’s gay.

That's about as verifiable as "there's a man works down the chip-shop swears he's Elvis".

Oh God, that was funny. First time I’ve ever had such a laugh here and I’m so wanting to say I could go a lifetime without a poke oh chips if I had a poke fae George Clooney instead but being the lady that I am …….

Naughty! 😂

Your 'boundaries' are no concern of mine, they're for you only.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

What absolute rot that story is. There is no way, in this day and age of internet oversharing, that an incident that serious would not have gone mainstream. You're talking a massive police and emergency services cover up involving a teen.

I'm with @Millytante, the homophobia creeping into this thread is getting disturbing.

Aye, and just you see how that goes when they play Hi Ho, Silver Lining! Mass scarper.

RodeoJoan · 29/08/2025 20:23

She's a beard!!

mumofoneAloneandwell · 29/08/2025 20:23

I never believe anything I see anymore 😭

I think that the Travis and Taylor swift engagement is a pr thing 🙈

Needmorelego · 29/08/2025 20:23

@RanyaJerodung she looks unhealthily thin. I hope her health is ok.

Or just very rich? She has gorgeous skin and hair and looks well to me

KTSl1964 · 29/08/2025 20:25

My friend had a big crush on him and actually went to lake como to try and see him -with the hope she would snare him- she is gorgeous looking - she didn't see him but she said waiters in a restaurant he visits said he likes young men!!!
Who knows - he seems very kind and has a gentle manner - am sure he's a great Dad.

Namechangedagain999 · 29/08/2025 20:25

George and Amal Clooney would be much happier living their lives honestly.

Maybe the waiters were used to dealing with ambitious young women like her!

She's always been rich, hasn't she got a very wealthy family?

Perzackly. I remember contortionists on gossip blogs trying to cast her as a gold digger, and getting nowhere. She was already well off, well connected, and a high earner to boot.

LesCigaresVolants · 29/08/2025 20:30

yogpot · 29/08/2025 17:55

Why on earth would Amal, an absurdly successful human rights lawyer who has continued in this career and not attempted any kind of showbiz pivot, agree to be a beard? What possible benefit would she get from that?! She doesn’t need him!

I think he gets all the benefits in this relationship (and I’m sure he would agree!) in terms of social clout etc.

So perhaps they’re just a disgustingly attractive, successful couple who are in love. Enough to make my blood boil, tbh 😂

I don’t believe she’s a beard or that they have a sham marriage. But Amal is a human rights activist as well as a lawyer, and George is also an activist who is incredibly well connected and influential within the Democratic Party. Being married to him is not going to do her career or political agenda any harm. She has far more influence married to him than she does purely through her legal work.

Muffinmam · 29/08/2025 20:30

I think it’s an act.

My sister in law was posting happy family pictures at the start of the year. In a matter of weeks they were separated but still living together, separated and living apart, house listed for sale, offers put on two new houses, house sold, both moved into their new homes. Each step was literally 2 to 4 weeks apart. The house had sold quickly and settlement didn’t take long either. Then as soon as she’s moved into the new house she’s seeing someone, he’s seeing someone, next minute she’s in love. The entire time they were together they were taking expensive holidays posting amazing pictures and appearing so happy together. They went on hikes, socialised with friends….

It was all a performance. It was an image they were projecting. It wasn’t real.

Yes, she was at a prestigious school and went to Oxford and then NYU. Then had an incredibly successful career with Human Rights cases. She hardly needed Clooney's dollars.

Candlesburn · 29/08/2025 20:31

Who knows gay/ bi / straight - really their business. Agree that regardless they would put on a show for the red carpet as that is part of his job , glamorous publicity if promoting a film . I would like to think they are genuinely in love , but who knows ?
I don’t entirely agree with those that say she didn’t have anything to gain from it . I don’t know her background I suspect she came from a comfortable / wealthy background . She would also be earning a fantastic salary . She is in human rights law so certainly not the complete mega bucks of commercial law . But by any stretch of the imagination she would have been rich already .
But by marrying GC she became mega rich - similar to a roll over Euromillions lifestyle . Huge mansions , private jets ,
staff etc .
They also both seem to have a joint interest in human rights and have set up a foundation . She will be able to do a lot of charitable / non profit work and “ make a difference “ . She can also choose which cases she wants to take on , even if no / low paying .
She also changed her professional name to her husband’s after marriage . Other spouses of famous people ( though not all ) have wanted to be more anonymous and have kept their maiden name for that reason . By marrying it has certainly not done her too much harm , although I accept some may have thought she was becoming a celebrity rather than completely driven by her career .
They have the level of wealth that they can jet round the world and have amazing holidays . They do seem to be very careful in their public appearances and it doesn’t seem that they are turning up to all celeb events .
They certainly appear happy and as they clearly wanted a family they both have lots of choices and do not have to
worry about paying bills , childcare - whose turn it is to put the bins out / load the dishwasher .
If AC does decide that she has had enough and GC is prepared to accept a massive downgrade with looks , career ( and basically everything Smile) - happy to step in .

To be fair, I don't think being even the most amazing lawyer would give you the millions Clooney has.

Neil Patrick Harris. Matt Bomer. Wentworth Miller. Sean Hayes. Luke Evans.

I could go on.

Exactly but they are all very typecast theatre types - you don’t get to be George Clooney or Will Smith or Tim Cruise if you are gay and tbh I think GCs looks really help him and the acting range is limited. It’s improving no doubt but Hollywood is still very much working on the basis that sex sells - see also all the fake co/star relationship rumours pushed during publicity tours.

I have friends who lived close to them, really close actually, but it just happened their house was quite dark and if you wanted to put your make up on you had to do it next to a certain window in the living room. It was known as the window of hope - because everyone who stood there putting their makeup on was hoping when they went out on the 15km trek people had to do when staying with these friends that George would be waiting just round the next corner for them.

No, but I think being from a multimillionaire Lebanese property owning family might.
