The Clooneys - is it real

Just that, they seem so deliriously in love in every picture I've seen of them.

More power to them if they are that happy, they've both hit the jackpot in so many ways.

But.. to still look so enthralled with each other after so many years??

I'm still not very clear about the problems with Kate's buttons were, @Millytante , but I'll take your word it was a thing.
"it bespoke a grave moral lack" - what, the Clooneys or Kate?.

I had a csf leak which is a horrible debilitating condition. I am still active on leak Facebook groups and Clooney is probably the most famous person who had it. (He was operated on by the leading surgeon in this area). It is not a secret, there is an interview where he talks about it I believe. But, but, but… firstly, it probably gave him a massive scare and maybe changed his plans to run for office. This condition does leave a mark even if you’re successfully operated on. Secondly, we leakers were somewhat disappointed that he chose not to be our advocate ~ develop diagnostics, train more surgeons and neurorads etc etc etc. Some people become passionate advocates and I think he is very private and probably chose not to pursue public office. He is indeed surrounded by gay rumors and such rumors are very rarely false unfortunately. So I do tend to think that a lot of it is PR because I think it’s difficult for him to come out, he’s naturally private (and he had a huge health scare that probably completely traumatized him on top of everything), Amal does get something (probably a lot) out of this relationship too. Twins firstly. Nice life. Como, Sonning, the US.

CatherinetheGreatest · 29/08/2025 21:27

I don’t think she’s gorgeous, attractive yes. Her hair looks like extensions. But she tall.
When was the last blockbuster Cooney was in?

Blondiney · 29/08/2025 19:50

Nope. I'm referring to the 16 year old Italian boy who was found naked on rocks at the bottom of a cliff. Kid had been out with Clooney and pals, got spooked back at the villa and jumped, allegedly. He survived but suffered life changing injuries. This was in 2013.

No idea if it's true of course but that's the story.

There is no record of a boy falling out of a window at George Clooney's Italian house in 2013 or any other time. But like all good scuttlebutt, why do some basic searches and spoil a good bit of implicit libel

Bambamhoohoo · 29/08/2025 21:28

As above George is a producer and director and don’t forget he’s been earning big money for over 30 years. That’s a long time for it to accumulate especially if he’s made investments. He’s also done a lot of promoting, particularly in SE Asia where you get big money and no one in the americas or Europe sees you.

tbh I don’t think the top lawyer/ famous person pairing is that unusual, although George and Amal are certainly the leading couple of that genre.

I think if Amal wanted power there were many better men to marry who carry real power, which George doesn’t.

i am a massive fan of Amal but my understanding is she’s a junior barrister (or was when they married) and not quite the worlds legal trail blazer she’s sometimes portrayed as. But she’s brilliant and does very interesting work. She’s someone you’d love to hate if she probably wasn’t also funny and kind 😂

Please tell me where I said he fell out of a window?

By being a successful producer and director, which can amass much more of a fortune than mere acting.

I remember reading about Brad Pitt and La Jolie, who explained that in order to remain at the very A-est of the A List, you have to have a truly enormous income way beyond that earned from acting.
You have to spend like you are Croesus on all the trappings.
You’d direct, certainly produce; or advertise (often away in Japan, out of sight), or maybe go in for viniculture, for example.

Needing such megastar glamour isn’t for everyone, but if you intend to be glad-handing heads of state, reclusive tycoons etc, for the benefit of their influence in causes you espouse, you need to be solid gold yourself (or be Bono….there’s always one!) to receive the invitation into their milieu.
They need the assurance that you are their equal in privilege, if no other.

Well, that was their excuse anyway!

Millytante · 29/08/2025 20:56

Oh FFS.
‘Balcony accident’ seems to be a wildly popular activity of young Brits abroad, and in their case it’s just alcohol that’s blamed, rather than rampant homoerotic sin.

This thread has astonished me; I had no idea there was such hypocrisy and prurience in the air.
It’s like it’s 1985 again (but without the great music.)

It was a gay man who told me the story. I'll be sure to pass your concerns onto him.

Beard.

Yep. He bats for the other team.

EasySqueezy · 29/08/2025 21:36

Wildfairy · 29/08/2025 17:25

That’s actually laughable, clooney is clearly not gay, and even if he was, he certainly wouldn’t need a beard, nor would a successful human rights lawyer agree to it and have kids with him. Cmon, lazy comment,

Actually he is gay. It’s well known in the industry.

I always thought Leonardo di Caprio looked like Norman Lamont.
Most unattractive.

How have I never noticed this before?!! LOL

There are plenty of self hating gays!

LesCigaresVolants · 29/08/2025 21:36

I disagree that Clooney doesn't have real political power. The Democratic Party is highly enamoured with all things Hollywood, and Clooney is a leading Hollywood Democrat who is reputed to have a lot of sway with the governance of that party, not least because of the fundraisers he holds for them. His opinion piece in The NY Times about Biden has been credited (or discredited) with making the latter drop out of the presidential race.

Bravo, that’s a breath of fresh air. She’s just altogether admirable, and she’s deserving of her position and her evident enjoyment of her private life.
Good on her, I say .

This is so vacuous and really rather rude to actually gay people.

It is a bit naff to speculate about someone's sexuality. But that's what this thread is about, so this is my thruppence hapenny worth ... on desert island discs he is not acting ... he is just being himself. And when I heard it, I remember thinking that he was most likely gay. Don't know why that is vacuous or insulting to gay men? Surely it's normal for women to make judgments on whether men are gay or not?

Bambamhoohoo · 29/08/2025 21:43

when I was much younger I worked in the theatre industry, mainly west end. I worked with loads of actors, jobbing and aspiring. I have to say in 6 years of working across the industry I can count the male straight actors I met on one hand 😂 acting is such a gay profession I’ve always been surprised that such a tiny number of famous Hollywood male actors are openly gay.

not that they should have to be out if they don’t want to be but it’s like some blip in the matrix.

this isn’t related to clooney btw who I can’t imagine would care about people knowing he was gay

We’re talking about someone who could potentially marry a leader from the international courts, the UN, a political power or law maker from anywhere in the world. Someone who has some vague indirect influence in one of the political parties in the USA is a pretty marginal power compared to the people she meets.

Oh, I’m sorry! I’m mangling things badly, not to mention wasting air on ludicrous info!

👑 KM does indeed wear a lot of garments bearing prominent buttons, often a double row down the front of a coat, for example. (Eye-catching I guess, and being visible is part of the job)
A normal person wouldn’t bat an eyelid either way, but this website leapt on the detail and turned it into Squidgygate mixed with FergiesToegate in their outrage.
It became a kind of signifier of whatever the hell it was they all hated about her.

I hope they’ve become kinder to her of late. I doubt it.

To be fair, I don't think being even the most amazing lawyer would give you the millions Clooney has.

which inevitably leads to faking pregnancies and acting as a beard in a 12 year relationship

Millytante · 29/08/2025 21:57

RanyaJerodung · 29/08/2025 21:47

What made you think that?

Did he make a ‘gay’ selection of tunes?
Golly, could be anything. Swedish Death Metal, or Beethoven’s 9th? The Singing Nun?
Thing is, these gays are cunning blighters and have learned to cover their tracks. 🤔 But one certain giveaway is choosing Tammy Wynette with the KLF on Desert Island Discs
Not a lot of people know that, and I bet Amal doesn’t allow any KLF stuff in their house anyway.

Cindy Crawford is drop dead gorgeous. As if she would need to be anyone’s beard… so, so silly
