To think that surely Rayner has to go.

Well well well.

So now it emerges that Rayner rearranged her property affairs and declared to HMRC that her new flat in Brighton is her main residence and saved £40k on the SDLT bill as a result.

She has then apparently declared to the local councils the complete opposite.

I'm sure slimeball Kier will defend and say it was perfectly legal blah blah blah.

Not to mention she has a grace and favour house funded by tax payers in London as her constituency office is so far away. Yet she 'lives' in Brighton - surely she could just commute that distance like may others do every day.

Surely she has to go.

Being “loud”……..a classic sexist criticism of a successful woman.

She’s told that to the tax office and it’s been confirmed she acted legally and correctly.

My understanding is that she’s got divorced - so the house is going to be her primary residence.

And her husband has been given the other house.

So - not so dramatic.

Nice to see a voice of reason on here!

A lot of people love to hate Angela Rayner. Its disturbing. You might not like her, but if she has changes in her life, she is entitled to make changes in her property arrangements.

What makes you think she's thick?
Her accent, by any chance?

I’d say not understanding the true meaning behind democracy.
Not so much thick (hate that word ) as arrogant and a bully ( in her policies ).

You have a very low bar. There are many truly inspirational female role models - Angela Rayner will never be one of them.

No, I have a very high bar. If my success in life was at that level I’d be beyond proud of myself. Fortunately for me I wasn’t born into those circumstances and I’ve certainly not achieved anything like Rayner’s success. I don’t imagine you have either.

I consider myself to have achieved far more than Angela Rayner ever will. Most importantly, I've always acted with honesty and integrity and have never ever described a fellow human being as 'scum'. The fact that she had the audacity to claim she represents Northern women like myself was shameful.

The actual things she says, the actual things she does and the actual philosophies she has make her thick

This actual thread is about an action that is quite thick

Bruisername · 29/08/2025 15:02

But she’s been separated for years - this most likely is the result of the financial settlement meaning she no longer has any ownership of the marital home

Yep. Northern born and bred and like I said, she doesn't represent me and she will never be held up as a role model here.

Not everyone is born into a family where education is valued. Her mother was illiterate. I think she has done pretty well considering! I think she’s a marvellous role model for girls. A lot of her criticism is classist.

Edited

Thankfully there are plenty of other role models for girls.

That’s a rude thing to say about @SeagullSam2027
you don’t know anything about posters on here !

I watched the 2020-2024 pmqs with Keir in opposition. The way he spoke made it seem like the Tory party was the party full of corruption and the labour party were the moral "good guys" who always acted with honour, integrity. And always behaved in the public interest.

Yep "grown ups in charge" and "transparency". There were also plenty of tweets. With Labour there are always lots of tweets, none of them age well.

I know most, if not all, of them - including me - won’t have achievements to match or surpass Rayner’s.

Maybe, but I can’t help thinking no-one would give a shit if she was (a) male, (b) posh, and (c) a Tory.

Some people really really hate working class people who don’t stay in their lane.

Edited

Its not about hating working class people that don't stay in their lane 🙄

Labour are meant to be the party to help working class people and the party that supports a in society. Not the party that supports tax loopholes for the wealthier in our society, The Tories do not make these claims

AR has always spoken out about this, its an area I have always very much agreed with her about

I remember re-watching all this in the time we all knew Labour was going to win the next election by a landslide. I was thinking to myself "how long till the Labour government have their own sets of scandals and issues"

Personally I think the personal attacks on here are uncalled for.
