Cycling Mikey doesn't deserve the hate he's getting

He's not putting fumes in people's lungs from his car and sees people doing illegal activities that kill others or make our premiums go up.

This bloke’s just another vigilante. He may be a middle-class-approved cycling vigilante. But he’s doing the same thing as Ring doorbell camera zealots putting their stupid videos on Facebook warning of suspicious men in the neighbourhood, or online ‘paedo hunters’.

Leave detection and enforcement to the police.

A vigilante so bad that he sends the evidence to the police which they use to prosecute? He's a helpful hand that's all

HungarianBoat · 28/08/2025 23:02

scalt · 28/08/2025 21:47

I'd never heard of him until now, but I'm not surprised. One day, he'll piss off the wrong person, and come to a sticky end. (I'm surprised that none of the JSO crowd got run over.) And I'm not going to line his pockets by clicking on him.

And is his cycling always impeccable? He never rides on pavements, never ignores red lights, obeys 20mph zones? (Some fit cyclists can ride faster than that.) Does he have insurance, as lots of people preach that cyclists should have it?

Incidentally, if it's illegal and allegedly "extremely dangerous" to operate a phone in stationary traffic, why do modern cars have touch screen controls for so many things like heating, so you have to look at the screen to adjust it, when previously, with an actual tactile switch, you could do it by feel, keeping your eyes on the road?

He once broke the law, acknowledged his mistake and reported himself

There are noticeable speech patterns of certain posters on this thread, particularly those vehemently defending Mikey.

OK then, Mikey/Mikey's wife/partner

Don’t you know laws are made completely at random and for no reason at all 😂

Using your phone in standstill traffic doesn't risk anyone's life though.

Dear God, they walk among us. And worryingly have driving licenses

And that's just blatantly untrue.

For example, it's illegal to go to your car to grab your handbag if you're over the drink drive limit. It's not dangerous. It's illegal to nudge through a red light by six inches to let an ambulance through. It's not dangerous. It's illegal to sell a 17 year and 354 day old person 1ml of vodka. It's not dangerous.

Lots and lots of things are illegal but not dangerous.

Vodka is dangerous technically. To anyone and everyone. It's a poison. Sounds like someone wants to justify not focusing on the road and playing on their phone instead.

HungarianBoat · 28/08/2025 23:07

Mikkymik · 28/08/2025 22:01

Using your phone in standstill traffic doesn't risk anyone's life though.

You're still distracted and not focusing on the road. Once you put the phone away the distraction still lasts in your brain. You're still driving and you're purposely not focusing on that road

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 28/08/2025 23:09

ConfusedSloth · 28/08/2025 22:01

  1. It's illegal because no distinction is made between moving and not moving.
  2. I don't drive, as I said. I don't condone it. I've just said that it's not dangerous - and you, along with everyone else, have given absolutely no possible way it is.

Why is there no distinction?

Think hard

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 28/08/2025 23:10

Mikkymik · 28/08/2025 22:01

21 in a 20 zone is also illegal. But unsafe? On a main road?

Doing 21 in a 20 zone is unsafe yes.

What do you think speed limits are for?

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 28/08/2025 23:11

ConfusedSloth · 28/08/2025 22:02

No they haven't. They've said "when you start moving..." - which is, oddly, different from not moving.

They have explained. It’s not their fault you can’t comprehend what they mean.

KeepCalmAndCarryOnScrolling · 28/08/2025 23:11

Any fecker filming people on their mobile phone for whatever reason, is usually a twat <gavel>
If this monetising Mikey bikey cunt wants to be a citizen on patrol, he can join the Special Constables.

Again, Operation Snap. Look it up.

Where have I said he's in the wrong?!?! This thread is full of utter fantasists! Stop making things up!

Says the person who misquoted the OP!

Youre saying what the people CM stops are doing isn’t dangerous. But you haven’t even seen any of his videos.

They teach you to drive just under for. .... Safety

Him and Jeremy Vine with their twatcams are awful.
Vine especially, deliberately puts himself into situations for his Twitter gotcha moment.
Cycling twitty Micky is a dick. Didn't he recently whack his bike into the side of someone's car? Hope they sue him, driver was just driving along and he literally threw his bike at the car

You need to check your facts.. the car driver was going down a one way section of road the wrong way, after going through a No Entry sign, before driving through a junction without stopping, all after leaving the scene of an accident.

He wasn't an innocent party.

But apparently anyone who dislikes dangeroudrivers is an AI Bot...

ConfusedSloth · 28/08/2025 22:04

Honestly, I'm done with this thread. I'm out. I'll get banned if I say the only reasonable response to this level of total invention.

Invention 🤣

Yes I’m sure the link provided was total invention and YOU are right.

I love it when people flounce because they’re simply wrong

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 28/08/2025 23:16

mrsm43s · 28/08/2025 22:05

This is just more evidence that I hate twatty, entitled men. Especially those that like to make themselves feel big on a majority female website.

I really don’t think k the OP is CM.

Why so it entitled to stop people behaving dangerously? Do you know what entitled means??

Purposely ignoring a one way sign and driving the wrong way in traffic is reckless and super dangerous.

Also he was shoving his camera in to people’s vehicles which is not OK.

Push a camera into my vehicle and kiss it goodbye.

ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHat · 28/08/2025 23:19

FrippEnos · 28/08/2025 22:14

He doesn't have to "wind people up" he chooses too.

And seems to take a perverse joy in it.

And if the others like him are anything to go by, the video will be carefully edited to only show the worst of drivers.

So should he be super polite and lovely to law breakers? People putting others’ lives at risk?

Maybe, just maybe, they deserve having their arse handed to them?

BogRollBOGOF · 28/08/2025 23:19

I don't have an issue with him addressing dangerous drivers.

He can be antagonistic, and frequently puts himself in dangerous positions. He likes to be right. Sometimes being "dead right" is not a great aspiration.

For good practice on the roads, I favour Ashley Neal who trains driving instructors and also has cycling content.

HungarianBoat · 28/08/2025 23:20

A few hurty words after catching bad and dangerous driving is perfectly fine. We all say hurty words on MN. Some revell on saying such syyff

XenoBitch · 28/08/2025 23:20

JudgeJ · 28/08/2025 23:18

He would only be "pushing it into your vehicle" if you were breaking the law.

You'd get done for destruction of someone else's personal property. And he only looks through the window anyway
