How the fuck do you manage it? Please - I’m so close to just shaving it off and wearing wigs instead. It’s light brown and absolutely wild

if I straighten it it looks thin and dead and makes my face look long and old.

This is interesting, so you put one product on while it’s really wet, then turban it up in a t shirt and do the mousse when it’s just damp? I’m going to give this a go!

Seems to work better. When the mousse is almost dry I put some boucleme gel on. It’s expensive but using once a week means it lasts years

What did women with our mad hair do with it before products? Any social historians on here? Would love to know.

Plaits. All over!

Give it a try. Once you’ve put your conditioner in your hair and let it sit for a few minutes brush it through with a wide toothed comb or a tangle teaser. You’ll have more defined and frizz free curls.

But I have those anyway! I always comb my hair with my fingers when I have conditioner on anyway. But I also wash my hair in the evening but then soak it the following morning before putting product in then.

I love my curly hair and get compliments from randomers every time I go out. I do the following to get my ringletty (non frizzy) curls:

  • Wash with shampoo and conditioner (cheap, 99p argan products)
  • Towel dry and brush through - I never brush my hair unless just washed
  • Scrunch gel through
  • Hairspray all over
  • Leave for 15 mins
  • Hairspray all over again
  • Dry with hairdryer while scrunching
  • More gel and Hairspray

Leave for 4-5 days and repeat 👍

Put in curl cream while hair is still wet.

Oh, and I sleep with hair pins I to keep the curls tight.
Hurts like hell but my hair looks great so I put up with the pain 😬

Definitely embrace the curls.
Only Curls and boucleme products are great for me and they have handy styling videos.

I have very curly hair but only need to wash it once a week with a good routine.

Loads of conditioner, brush through with bounce curl defining brush in the shower to get nice curl separation, put gel and mousse on when soaking wet, plop hair in micro fibre towel, diffuse for 10 mins then air dry and scrunch out the crunch when totally dry. Don't break up curls until dry or you'll get frizz.

Sleep on a silk pillow/ bonnet makes a huge difference too.

I have a brilliant curly hairdresser who revolutionised my life.
if you’re in the north I’ll give you her details

this is what I do now
wash once a week with Aldi conditioner in a blue bottle
apply hair food, scrunch into ends, comb through, leave on as long as possible before rinsing
squeeze water out, apply boots curl cream, wrap in a t shirt and leave for 20 mins
apply shockwaves mousse, scrunch into ends
add a little gel if needed, or oil

i do all this once a week. In between I have a spray bottle with water and conditioner in. I dampen the hair with it and more scrunching

Im in the north, please could you send me the details?

I get an olaplex treatment on it at the hairdresser nd use it at home. Use wella fusion shampoo and conditioner, a good serum. I wear it up mostly day to day in a high bun.

When im going out I have to dry (takes forever 🙄) then curl, crimp or straighten it. I only wash it twice a week or it gets so dry. I used to let it naturally air dry with mousse and scrunching when younger but it's SOOO thick and so much of it now, I just look like I've been dragged through a bush.

Weirdly, I always wear it down and curly on holiday and it sits really nice, curly and no frizz.
