@Fineapple1 but you still don’t get it. Or just refuse point blank to back down. NO-ONE can tell you your answer here, as no-one lives your life, your personal circumstances. Only you and your dh can answer this. I don’t understand why you need validation from others to prove your dh right or wrong? Again, how on earth can you expect others to help you here, given most others’ circumstances are not like yours at all? Just crack on with your well financed life.🙄🙄

I wasn’t looking for validation or to prove anyone right or wrong, I just looked for a general sense of perspective. Of course, everyone’s circumstances are different, but that doesn’t mean people can’t ask broader questions. I’ll leave it there, thanks for sharing your view.

He is looking at a new job, that is what prompted this. So the new job would pay approximately 84-87k. Obviously we would lose child benefit which is fine, I would like to increase my pension contributions and we would have to figure out what the increase would be etc.

i think the extra money if he got the promotion would be helpful as you could still meet your savings goals and maybe more “spend” money. But just because he goes for a promotion doesn’t mean you have too. Good luck with whatever you decide but I think more salary whilst you are young enough to earn is always the way to go as it gives you freedom later on.
